Beautiful grounds and buildings. Not a massive place, so can typically take your time and be done in an hour or 2. However, with the hiking trails and nature watching , I could easily spend a full day . Caution, the whole estate is on a bit of a hill, some of the trails are a bit strenuous for those with mobility issues. However, if your just visiting the museum, this is not an issue.

Easily accessed state park with richer history than most, presented well in beautiful buildings. Appropriate for young kids to adults with modern, short film, learning lab, bird viewing area. Has meeting area and is wheelchair and stroller accessible buildings. Trails are short but loopable and well built / maintained. Trails are not stroller or wheelchair accessible though there is a no-vehicle paved road set in the woods about 0.5 miles long.

Erica at the desk is very pleasant. She explained everything and was quick about getting me set up to enjoy my stay. The cabins are very clean with dishes, cookware, a comfy kitchen, living room and extra clean king sized bed. Audubon Park cabins are a little more money but make up for the cost with comfort. Dogs are welcome with a $50. Fee.

Wow!! What a surprise for me. I already knew a little about this park from my last visit back in 1976. But time has been good to this place. Do to a lot of effort by many hard working people this quite little park is a great place for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. The museum will inform you about the Audubon family history and at the same time introduce you to the birds that you have over looked daily most of your life. Go from the birds to the blooms all in one stop. I am not a flower guy, but the paintings by Mrs Massey are a delight. My favorite was the daffodil. Take a few minutes and choose yours. If hiking trails through beautiful Woodlands is your joy then be ready to get your happy on. I recommend that you stay with the paved trail until you see the off shoot marked Woodpecker trail. Follow it down hill and over the bridge there take the left trail called Paw Paw back to the pavement. Keep your eyes open for forest critters and go quietly listening for the birds as they sing. This is a special place to take that special someone for a romantic days outing. Life is short and time passes far to quickly. Here is a great place to slow down and just breath easy.

This is one of the loveliest places to visit. The museum and grounds are beautiful and a wonderful place for pictures. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. The museum is open daily from 10-5. For a small fee you can tour the art gallery, but the rest of the building is free to the public. They have a nice gift shop with unique and interesting items, especially for the bird enthusian. There is also a beautiful bird observatory in which you can enjoy and view many species of birds. There is also a theater where you can learn the history of the park and how it was built during the Depression era. There is also a nice nature sanctuary that houses different types of reptiles with friendly staff that spend time sharing their wealth of information. They have bathrooms in this building and downstairs there is an amateur art gallery with pieces that you can view and even purchase if one catches your eye. They host many family fun events and kid friendly day camps. The trails behind the museum are lush and amazing. The canvas of leaves, plants, trees, wildlife and wildflowers are continually changing. Such a peaceful place. There are also a couple of lakes, paddle boats you can rent, shelters and picnic tables, play ground areas and cabins you can rent. Its a lovely place to spend the day and unwind...one of our familys favorite spots.

The place seemed really nice. Good trails that are marked clearly. We came from Illinois to bring the grandkids to the museum but it was closed, very disappointing. The sign said open daily at 10am. There wasnt a mention of closure when I researched it online before driving over. On the plus side there was a bathroom available.

We actually visited the Lions Arts and Craft Show. They have it every year. Next year its going to be October 6th & 7th, 2019. They have over 100 exhibitors all crafts are hand made. It is hilly but they have shuttles for those who dont like walking. The kids love the shuttle rides too. They have a variety of different food and drink booths too. Its a great way to spend a Saturday or Sunday.
