Great place to play in the water with life guards too so you can be save water is shallow so the little ones dont have to worry about them drowning!!! Also for the bigger people that love a nice little thrill theres a cliff to jump off but its shallow so make sure its deep before you jump
Took the grand kids there for a quick dip. Cost 7 dollars to drive in step hill to get down to waters edge same going up. The kids that work there were pleasant plus they have a lifeguard. No bathrooms or picnic tables available due to covid.
Awesome clean Beach very shallow Waters with hardly any current because of the man-made Dam. Perfect for families with young children. Two lifeguards on duty all day long as well. You can rent canoes and they even have free life vest for kids that you can borrow for the day.
This is was such a nice little river bank, only issue was the Algae Bloom YUCK! green stuff all over the place! It was nice and shallow for the kids
This is the first hospital I have ever been to that is fast, efficient and caring. They have been this way consistently for the 12 years I have been going here.
Its the jewel of the north. Really neat and clean.
A bit rocky and shallow, but was a good place to cool off and float with young children.
Nice swimming area and park with lifeguards on duty. Too bad the water was so low
The place is clean and nice, not many people. But no water to swim this year
Even with the water low this year there are several good places to enjoy swimming with the entire family. I am really glad that the beach opened up for swimming this weekend!
If you want a good mix of sunshine and shade when a great place to swim, this is your spot.
The water is sooo clearly. We Love it
Great place to Wade and swim. Pay for parking but not the beach
Fantastic little place to kayak. Although this year the water is so low that it makes paddling quite difficult
The view of the river, from high on the bank, was nice to see during a sunset. The entrance was washed out and to steep to safely access the beach.
This place is a great alternative to the ocean! And if you have dogs, there are designated areas where they are allowed.
Its a small park. Not much to but enjoy the sun. No dogs in the water and I cant keep my dog out. Ive been there twice recently and it was under used. Not many people and not a lot to do.Please read all posted signs. Its a progressive state and if youre from Tennessee you may find out smokers are now the new minority. Welcome to California.
Grankids loved the river
Beautiful and wonderfully calm river spot. Got everything a river spot can offer parking lot big enough that theres always been a spot available. Canoe rentals for trips up and down the river. Rope swing off the old railroad bridge. Picking areas. Oh and across the street theres frozen dessert spots thats killer, a must stop for the summer time or anytime.
Nice free and convenient swimming hole in the Russian River. There was a lifeguard. Beach is very steep and dirt (not sand or Sandy). They damn the river each year to allow for swimming but is still only 3-4 feet deep. Very refreshing on a hot day but I would otherwise opt for an ocean Beach a bit farther away. Gave 4 stars because it is still a convenient walk to free communal bathing in Healdsburg, and that is priceless, even if the conditions are not ideal.
Not like the beach. You can swim there of you like.
A great beach on the Russian River related to very prominent childhood memories. Wicked Slush across the street is pretty awesome.
I love the beach area and the rushing water over the rocks during the warmer months. Definitely a family friendly setting. You have to pay at the entrance for parking and there are bbq grills, picnic tables and bathrooms available. Great little park/beach.
I only gave this place a 1 star review because I had to in order to tell you the real truth about Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach. My Family & I went to Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach to have some fun away from home. We live in Martinez CA. The drive was over 2hrs but that’s ok with us if its a good place for the family to have fun. When we arrived we walked along the railroad tracks to go to a remote beach. My Wife said she thinks a 3rd World Country would be nicer. It was a MASIVE HOMELESS CAMP all around the whole beach. Don’t get me wrong I feel very compassionate for people in need, but please please don’t give a 4.4 star review that its a great place to bring your family. The pictures online are absolutely a lie. If you plan on taking your family here, “You will regret it”
Little shade and mostly river rock for the beach.
The best place in Healdsburg to score Meth.
Clean and nice
Great option for a summer day by the river. They have all the infrastructure you might need including bathrooms, water fountains, picnic tables with grill, life guards, parking ($7).The beach is very close to the road, which might disappoint some of the visitors (like myself) but after enjoying a day there, you wont even remember the road was so close. Also, downtown Healdsburg is just a few minutes away, with tons of great options for a dinner after the day at beach. Our recommendation is Mateos.
The swimming was fun. There is plenty of space for lots of people.
Good place to cool off
A lot of homeless people hang out here at the picnic tables.
Great for kids!
The lifeguards are extremely rude. The water is kind of gross to be honest. It is hot, nasty dirt, too steep for young children or elderly, no place to sit by water and watch kods play not that lifeguards would let them, whole area was nasty and dirty, like clothes and trash everywhere. I literally picked up so much trash and the cans were full. No shade for picnic areas and I mean everything just burned you. You cant leave your stuff there without risking it being stolen because you definitely cant see it. Dont waste your time here.
Beautiful place to visit very relaxing were visiting from San Diego and nit looking forward to leaving this beautiful place
NICE PLACE TO SWIM AND HANGOUT DURING THE SEASON
So fun during the sumer!
Great weather.
Good shallow swimming spot, but it can get nasty during low flow summers.
I brought my mom here with my aunt and uncle and let my mom see where she played as a kid. She loved it!
Great vibes!
It is always good
Nice smell views great peaceful toilets average.Trees lawns wonderful place
Nice place
Great park great pete beach
Beautiful
Great local beach on the russian river in Healdsburg.
I love it
Great swimming spot. Just know that the shore is dirt and rock and very steep. Chairs only worked up on the grass
Fun spot, shallow water right now, moving swiftly in the middle. Rinse off showers are not on right now. Areas for bbq and picnics. Amys wicked slush right across the street a major bonus!
Nice beach but a shame people cant use the boat ramp. What if you are unable to carry your watercraft to the water? The only place we can use it is in Monte Rio. What a shame.
4 generations of family learned to swim here
Great staff that truly cares about the health of your pet.
Very nice park. It has a lot of grilling pits and picnic benches. The beach is clearly marked by depth zones and theres two lifeguards. The bathrooms are clean and in full working condition. Also theres a lot of trash bins with extra bags. Very clean place.
Nice
Lovely beach in healdsburg with picnic area
Parking is almost non-existent but the area is beautiful and very off the beaten path.
Peaceful
Great location on the Russian River.
Cute, close to town
Fun place to go and have an adventure.
Perfect place to launch the kayak!
Fun time at the River ️
I really enjoyed my visit here. It is very nice, well supervised, parking fee in good rate $7. You can picnic, swim or kayak!! Fun time
This beach is ALWAYS crowded. The plus side is that there is generally a lifeguard and usually parking unless its a super warm day. Plus, the new Wicked slush place is right across street and offers amazing splits and food.
Nice place for a long stay, but be prepared to pay $7 for parking.
Nice park on the Russian River. Swimming area has a lifeguard! $7.00 entry.
The water seemed not maintained, there was too much moss and algae in it.
Lazy Lifeguards. They spend too much time on the speaker. 2 sat up there with unhappy attitudes and did not budge! The experience was NOT pleasant. The roped off area is waaay to narrow causing dirty shallow water which we could not get away from. Lots of big clean river water a few feet away. Very stupid concept that needs reworking. I was travelling thru with a 3 year old who was wearing a Coast Guard approved life jacket and who also swims. We tried to get to clean water but were called back. They Lifeguards need retraining and people skills. The Lifeguards were very very disrespectful to the Hispanics on the beach.
I dont love this place
Low water today
This place is awesome! We come here for our church cook outs every year and it has never disappointed!
Grew up going to this beach, seems too crowded now.
Its home.
Heckin cool
Great place to spend ur days at bbqing swiming n slide in summer great events there also
The best beach to go swimming
Amazing beach
We love it here! Great place to take the family for a fun day in the sun. We always go to the right of the bridge and walk the trail so our furbabies can go too!
Part of the sonoma county regional parks.Good for a quick swim and some rapids at the bridge bellow the small damn.
Small, just picnic grounds and beach on the river.
Love going here.
Nice spot...go check out Amys wicked slush across the street!
Lovely, family-friendly beach with a large sand area and water slide.
River swimming at its best.
The park is nice for taking pictures or just having a BBQ and family gathering.
Good place for kids in a safe environment.
Great Park with lots of space, tables and BBQs. Nice park
Really clean and well supervised parking is $7 or $8 though.
