Im so happy to have found such a place to explore close to home. I never knew there was such a place until I used Googles places near me to explore. Definitely a gem and great stroll, even better is its free admission. This place is well kept, many pergolas to take some beautiful photos. There are also tons of beautiful kois, although I couldnt spot any turtles. The views and small trails are just what I needed for the day.

My young sons and I have been here a couple of times and we always find it very relaxing. They love reading all the plaques, finding hidden pathways, and seeing the coy and the turtles. Highly recommend!

This is such a beautiful and serene place, you can find yourself relaxed and wanting to take a nap. I love the trees, especially the banzai trees. There are 4 gazebos to sit and relax in as well as bunches all around the little cement trail. My son enjoys the turtles that sun bath near the Koi fish. This place is family friendly and great for photo opportunities.

Well maintained boutique bonsai tree park with small pond. Its a very small park to admire well groomed bonsai trees, pond and photo spots. Don’t expect to do any hiking or rigorous walk due to its size.

What a hidden gem in Hayward! Free parking, no admission fee. Its not a huge park but definitely a picture opp with every turn. Some people brought in picnic but with social distance observed. We came on a Sunday a little after 1pm and the parking lot was not even half full. Definitely will come back.

Nice place to meditate or just take a nice stroll around the park on a lunch break. Certainly beautiful flowers and plants, the fish and turtles in the pond are fun to watch. Cant wait for the flowers to be in full bloom

So beautiful! Be careful when using Google map to direct you here though. It tries to direct you to the parking lot on the other side of the garden (the one just behind the fence of the small pavillion)The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the paths are easy to walk on, no uneven stones or areas that would be difficult navigating should you have difficulty walking.

So nice to spend the afternoon there, and this Japanese garden is very different from all other 4 Japanese gardens in bay area. It shows Japanese garden design with lots of big sized “Bonsai”, and very quiet place. But the whole garden designed slightly too squeezed.

Love taking friends and guests there, very scenic and relaxing place. Great to place to go to unwind and take in nature. The paths around the garden are nice to walk around and escape the hustle and bustle, also their pond is full of colourful fish. Very picturesque, great spot to get a new profile picture. Can get a bit crowded if groups come to take pictures, that and the hours are the only downside.

This is an amazing place to go for some peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. Not only are there hundreds of Japanese trees and flowers, but also pools with huge koi, and pagodas where you can sit and watch them. Not to mention turtles sunbathing on logs and rocks. The best kept secret though, is that you can use the gardens for weddings and or wedding photos. If you want total privacy, there is a fee for after hours use, but when the gardens are open, you are welcome. There is also a Senior Center close by which you can reserve for a reception. Very moderate prices.

First time I stepped in, I thought it was absolutely magical. It was peaceful and calming. I went twice, once during the summer and again towards the end of January. Obviously, but BIG difference if you go in the summer it’s much brighter and more colorful! And it’s like you could just get lost in some kind of enchanted forest or something. But if you go at like, the start of the year, the flowers aren’t there or really popping anymore, but it still gives a chill vibe, kinda like low-fi. I honestly would go again if the weather was decent, I could bring a book and just chill, in this really nice environment.

Well kept little tea garden, though small compared to the much more elaborate garden at Golden Gate Park. The park contained one looping pathway running past an adjacent stream/small waterfall. The trail leads to a koi pond filled with beautiful fish and turtles.Visited with my little family on a Sunday afternoon during cool January day. There were three other families. It was a peaceful place to sit and relax.Clean and beautiful, but only three stars due to small size and limited public parking plus one star for free entry. Worth a stop if you have an affinity for Japanese gardens and are already in the area.

Jo
Review №52

A free, small garden park with Japanese characteristics introduced by a friend. Small garden art, quiet environment, small bridge flowing water in the garden, from time to time there are birds flying or passing by, koi swimming in the water leisurely and leisurely ... moment of relaxation! But from time to time on both sides of the stone-paved path, I saw the text made of brass, like a tombstone record, with a name on it, the date of birth and death, and people who missed him, such as we miss you, you are in our hearts and the like The short text also made me uncomfortable. Leaving soon! Check in! Check in! Will never go again!

First DONT bring food for the fishes and turtles. There are signs up asking you not to do this. Im sure those are there for a reason. With that out the of way, we stopped by today since we were in the neighborhood anyway. Well worth the stop. The garden was in immaculate shape and thriving. Its not the largest Japanese Garden in the Bay Area, but it is in better shape than the one in SJ, and far more tranquil than the one in SF.Makes me wish I was closer!

Saw this on map while searching for place to take kids.. and what a surprise! It is a small but beautifully maintained garden. Pond has lot of fish and turtles and it is therapeutic watch them swim calmly in the water. There are 3/4 small wood structures with benches to relax and absorb the surroundings. This will be my place to come and relax here on wards. There are no washrooms in this park.

Good value for the money. Small but nicely fashioned, with quite a few refuges/places to sit and enjoy the space. Its pretty far out of the way of traffic and bordering a large creek, so very quiet. There seem to be a few seniors-oriented developments in the area, so theres an activity center and a few more things we didnt check out. Plenty of parking.
