Best fish store I have ever been to. Lots of fish and coral. Beautiful display tanks. This place is top notch and everything is well kept.

Pros:Pretty decent place, wide selection of overall healthy saltwater livestock (corals, fish, and inverts) and most anything you need in terms of dry goods. Im saltwater only, but they seem to have a decent selection of freshwater livestock as well. Staff are friendly.Cons:Check and recheck any livestock you buy before leaving the store. They do a lot of business and Ive found that dead livestock sometimes slips through the cracks. They do not guarantee livestock, no exceptions. Staff have ok general knowledge, but no experts here as far as I can tell (Ive found expert level LFS knowledge is very hard to come by in general though).

Flying to SF next week and wanted to swing by to check this place out. I went to the website to get an idea of what I would be in for and the first thing I am greeted with is a pop-up begging for my email to join the newsletter list. I have no idea what is on the site or in the store, nor will I ever, as you immediately lost a potential client based off begging for an email to send me advertisements and other junk. If I was interested in such, I would seek it out.

This place is one of the most knowledgeable places you can go to get into the hobby. My dream to own a saltwater tank since I was kid came true and I’m sorry to the owners for calling so much lol with questions and freaking out. But they were always there to help me whenever I needed it and now my cycle is completed and everything is perfect! Highly HIGHLY recommend going here to get 5 star service and animals they can help with anything you throw at them

I love this place so much!! Friendly staff that takes excellent care of their fish and corals. They are well educated and know what they’re doing! Always advise you for what’s best to the fish and Corals and never try to oversell. I recently bought this tank with live rock, live sand and some fish and I’m so love with it!! Will be back to buy corals once my tank is ready. I highly recommend this place if it’s your first time or an advanced reefer as they got you covered with everything you need.

Absolutely stunning collection of fish. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They even gave me a couple stickers to go along with the betta fish I bought! Overall, a great experience.

Only aquatic store worth going to around the area in my opinion. Been here numerous times due to Great selection of both fresh and saltwater species as well as knowledgeable staff with above average customer service also If they don’t have something usually they can find it for you no problem. Very helpful in educating customers as well. Only problems I ever had with the fish was usually my fault due to incorrect tank levels etc highly recommend Aquatic Collection.

Great selection of fish and corals, staff is well knowledgeable. I picked up a few urchins, mushroom corals,zoas,and some cyphastreas. They have tons of equipment live,dry food. Would definitely come back.I also ran a test of their water parameters, ill post a picture of the results.

I used to buy frags from Joe and Karson when I lived in Alameda. Over ten years later I willingly give them my business.....thats a longtime to do business with a local store, that should say a lot about the type of business they run. Longevity isnt typical of local fish stores, theyve earned it....

Coming in this store makes you feel like you want to be a fish. They have huge variety is salt water fishes, corals and even drift wood. I personally am amazed to see the seahorses :).We have a fresh water fish tank and this place made me want to have salt water tank. Maybe eventually.Most of the staff had offered help despite of our amazement. i brought my young son with me so he loved seeing the fishes.I wish they have better fresh water plants.They can be hard to find so hopefully you have a good GPS.

Overall good experience except for one small thingThis is an awesome store, there fish and coral looked healthy, knowledgeable friendly staff, and good inventory on aquarium supplies. Reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because the light stand I bought from them was used and missing a plastic washer and tool to assemble the lighting stand (instructions listed what was included) and there where marks were the lighting bracket was previously set. Not to big of a deal, I was able to make it work and made a plastic washer out of a bottle cap and I have the tool needed to assemble the unit already. Im sure they didnt realize that it was used.

This place reminds me of like going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium they got so much cool stuff things you dont usually see another saltwater stores they do have freshwater stuff to tons of supplies very helpful staff

The quality of fish is very high, and the selection is great. If you’re into salt water fish, this is the best place to go in the bay area. As for tropical fish, the selection is also very good, and the fish is very healthy. A little pricey but worth it

Love this place..The fresh water collection of fish is less than their saltwater. However their selection for fresh water is great. Some less common fish. All great clean tanks, no observable ich or fin rot. Nice live plants that are already growing submerged. Helpful knowledgeable staff.. This store is geared towards hobbyist.

One of the best Saltwater aquarium stores. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. I was new to the hobby and have been going to them for over a year now. All of their coals are free of pest and always in the best health. I would highly recommend you check out this store.

My boyfriend and I were complete newbies and Aquatic Collection has held our hand through every step! 98% of what is in our 175-gal tank is from the store and looking incredible. Everyone there is knowledgeable and Linh and Joe are AMAZING! Quality of fish and coral are unmatched. We dont go anywhere else!

Went here looking to pickup a few fish. Pretty good saltwater fish selection. The guy who helped me was very friendly and knowledgeable. He fed the fish before I bought them to show me they were eating well. They also had a few inverts which I appreciate. Its been a week and all the livestock I bought is happy and healthy in my tank. They had a decent selection of corals but they didnt look particularly nice, though maybe that was just the lighting.

Nice selection of saltwater fish, coral, invertebrates etc from what I could see that is. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was crowded which made it hard to get down the aisles which kinda sucked. Im not sure if its like that during the week but if I go again it wont be on a weekend thats for sure.

First time visiting Aquatic Collection. The staff was great and answered all of our questions. We recently set up our saltwater tank again and Glen gave us a some great advice. They have a great selection of livestock!! We bought a few clowns and we will be back to buy some more corals on our next visit.

This place is a paradise for fish nerds, its not a huge store but its great for people who are into the alt water side of the hobby. They do have a good selection of fresh water fish but not near as impressive as the salt water stuff. Coral viewing setup, good amount of scaping supplies, and great supplies and stafff

Love these guys! They keep there live stock healthy and have reasonable prices. In a dying industry they remain high quality and carry rare and hard to find fish. We have been coming here since they opened and will continue to as long as we have a tank! BTW we travel from Pacifica because we know they are trustworthy!

Good place. My kids love coming here where they have step stools so kids can see the fish & corals. I wish they would offer deals like 4 for 3 frags like some other places.

Lots of eye candy to get ideas but terrible store to buy from. I have 2 main issues with this store.First, all the fish Ive gotten from them have died within 2-3 months, often earlier, bc of disease. And if it just took out the fish Ive gotten there, then it would be ok, but you know disease spreads and its taken out other fish that were more expensive (not to mention cost of money and time for quarantining fish and med). Guess you can buy their snails or shrimp, but why risk it? They dont quarantine at all, their tanks are full of copper, and they sell so fast you dont get any history on the fish to see if they are healthy. Guess thats the blessing and curse of being such an established store. So for this part, I dont blame them, its just the cost of being popular and the main/only option in the area for a while. Though there are good newer stores in Alameda and Newark now and of course in SJ.Second, customer service is terrible and the owner is very rude. Success has made them not care about individual customers.Hope things improve there bc the store is beautiful. And Ill update if things change there.

Awesome corals, exotic fish, great prices. That says it all. If you want it, they have it or will get it. I got a GREAT deal on my Achilles and Purple Tangs, like an unbelievable deal. Friendly staff as well. The owner is a great guy. Just always ask them to feed the SW fish before you buy! That way you can see if its eating or not. Little out of the way(for me anyway) but always worth it. Alot better than Aquarium Concepts. You wont be disappointed!

What in the world? This place has terrible and rude customer service. When they were starting out, they were helpful and explained things. Now it seems like the owner doesnt care anymore bc they are making enough money. I guess Im more angry bc they seem like a business that let success get to their head. But the customers are why they got sucessful in the first place. The staff are helpful, but I wont be returning again.Also, when you ask about their policies, they seem to snicker like youre supposed to know already. Well, I havent been there in a while so how should I know that they dont give credit for items you purchased from them?I see a lot of high reviews and I guess if youre an established hobbiest that has been going to them for a long time, they have decent selection. But for the returning or newer hobbiest, I dont suggest this place.Finally, their prices for fish are decent. Prices for coral are high.And this was the closest store to me, but Im going to stick to the forums or travel to SJ to get my stuff.

This place is awesome. A huge selection of coral, fish, fresh water and the best lights on the market. they really care about their live stock and when I asked all the beginner questions just to see how friendly they are. They were nothing but helpful. Their Bettas are kept very nicely. I thought the shop was just the dinky little room infront. Then they told me, the fish room is in the back. And it really was a fish room.

Nice place they have a play for all your needs.
