This is an awesome park! Make sure to visit here if you have kids! They still have one of those old wood playgrounds that are super duper fun!

Nice trails for a walk or running (as long as you dont want to run more than 3 miles or so). Has a great playground, tennis courts, and a basketball court. Is not too crowded most of the time.

This is our absolute favorite park weve ever come across! Its within walking distance if our apartment, which makes it even better! Theres many walking/running paths, a beautiful wooden playground for kiddos, tennis courts, a baseball field, a pond where you can fish, and endless areas of greenery to run around or have a picnic! Ive even seen people set up hammocks between the trees. This is a perfect place to come for some relaxation or an afternoon picnic. Hours of entertainment for kids (and you!) Another plus is that youre bound to run into people walking their dogs, and 99% of those people will let you snuggle them! (Free therapy, amirite?)

One of my favorite parks !!! They have a concrete/ gravel trail you can walk on . i believe it is a mile if not more long. Also have shelters with picnic tables ! Grills are around as well. The kids play Ground could be updated though they still have the castle made up of wood some places arent in the best condition.

We stopped on a family trip along I-81. There is a nice wooden playground structure which our toddler enjoyed. The paintings inside of it were a nice touch. However, the slides are made of a material that gets VERY hot. I would recommend changing them out for a better material, as some child will likely get hurt on them. The picnic tables were nice and there was shade to be found. The bathrooms were fine. There is a diaper changing station in the women’s restroom, but not in the men’s.Also, there are several different parking lots. Google maps doesn’t take you to the best parking lot for the playground area.

Great place to walk, with nice hills and plenty of flat areas. I’ve walked here shortly after a storm and there weren’t really any puddles. The paths are either gravel or paved; there’s also a small track. Relatively clean bathrooms, great playground, lots of grass. Parking is good; a few lots in different areas. There’re a couple small places I’ve seen people fishing with their kids. Tennis courts are available. There’re at least two pavilions. I see a lot of people walk their dog(s) here. It’s a nice, clean, quaint park.

My #2 favorite park in Harrisonburg, there are some nice walking trails and a beautiful stream-side setting. However, there is a lot of highway noise on the side of the park close to Interstate 81. I would also warn you it can get a bit crowded, particularly if there is a game of softball or baseball happening on the fields there.

Its fantastic for joggers, biking, walking dogs etc. There is one very pretty wooden playground structure but it doesnt keep kids interest for a very long about of time. Id say if your family is the out doorsy type youd enjoy it, but with children, do not expect to spend more than 1.5-2 hours here. Id also suggest taking the trail around the pond first, eating lunch at one of the designated areas, then playing last on the play ground to stretch the length of your visit given your childrens attention span.

Poor drainage caused ponding in many areas. Walking trail is paved/graveled and fairly well maintained. Nice playground for the kids, but it was being used by college kids when I was here. Several picnic areas and shelters and ball fields. I greeted several other walkers here, but none of them acknowledged or gave eye contact. Made me feel a bit uncomfortable as to why. Hard to believe this is the friendly city.
