Very cool place funded as a non profit which is the coolest way to spend your money.
This is a really pleasant theater to attend in the audience and as a performer. They always have amazing events going so I frequently find myself here several times a month. I highly recommend the drag and burlesque shows!
Small, laid back venue in an obscure location. The play that we saw there was amazing!
Could have more comfortable chairs but the entertainment is top notch. Enjoy!!!
Great venue for music and comedy. Decent bar too....all friendly staff.
Great venue for comedy, music and more! Theres always something going on there. They also have a stand up Comedy club in the back called The Independent. Also the Ghost Light next door is great for karaoke on Thursdays!
Very helpful staff everyone was very kind, went here for a burlesque show had a great time
Great place to see scripted shows, improv, and stand up comedy. Its down to earth and supports a lot of local talent. The classes they offer are fun and educational too.
The comedy show was awesome. The crowd that came to the show was awesome. All around great venue.
A variety of entertainment from music to comedy to burlesque to scripted shows. The attached Ghost Light bar makes drinks before or after the show easy. Cool, laid back vibe. This is what all the cool, hipster joints are trying to be. Only its real.
Friendly people, great drinks and very talented acts. Also check out the black box across the street for scripted shows & improv, the bar next door (Ghost Light) and the stand-up club (Independent Comedy Club). You can spend your entire day & night at all 4 for a very decent price
Always a fun time. Go see Hedwig And The Angry Inch before its gone.
Great energy! Great look! Great dancers and amazing band! Who was that band? They were incredible!
There is where professional performers go to entertain people with hilarious jokes, comedy, funny, signing etc. and bar and karaoke.
Amazing community space with great production bar and team!
Great spot, multiple stages so more than one band is playing at once, cheap beer
Why put chairs in the way of dancing. Please rethink your actions for next year
Loved it and Ryan Dillaha too.
Went to a square dance here. The venue is great, but the front door was surrounded by people smoking the whole time, so it was hard to enter and exit without smelling like cigarettes.
Cool concept, poorly executed. Slowest bartenders I have ever seen. Good selection and everybody was friendly but still weird.
Attended a comedy show. Was small setting but enjoyed it. Next door was a bar but was too small to house this battle of the bands thing going on
A fun venue. Great location with plenty of character.
Planet Ant is wonderful. I love their support of the arts scene in Detroit and how encouraging and supportive they are of the entertainment industry. Their shows are great, they work hard to keep the professional theater business in Detroit alive!
The most unique place Ive found in the world. The energy, the people...... If youre not willing to embrace being your true self you shouldnt feel here
Went for Packzi Day to catch the music and festivities. Food was great ( vendor),music great, beer cold and waitress great, What stops me from giving more stars is the lack of decent bathrooms and the dirty ceilings with hanging wires- what is up with that ?
Nice mix of genres! Fun and safe atmosphere
Great venue for a small scale show!
A really awesome spot to see any sort of show. Professional sound system in both the main hall and the bar stage, on site bar and food, friendly staff and gender neutral bathrooms. Only complaint is parking can fill up fast in both the small lots and on the street but its free so thats the trade off.
Place was jammed cant say that I explored anything there
Seats could have been more comfortable but still better than sitting on the ground.
This beautiful place is a second home for those who love to laugh as well as sing and dance. The talent here is priceless and the people of Planet Ant bring infinite creativity and love to the improv community of Hamtramck. Connected with the bar Ghost Light, the Ant makes for the perfect spot to grab a drink and see unforgettable shows with amazing people
Cool place to watch some local improv, every night of the week apparently. Beer was cheap (in a good way) and people were friendly. Neighborhood might look a little down trodden, but I doubt there are ever any problems. Definitely recommend checking it out.
Discovered this place by accident. Very street theater feel. No glam here just fold up chairs and a stage. If you are looking for decent amateur night or local acts this would be a great place to go.
Great event space! Ghost Light Bar is a treasure in the area. Check the calendar for pop-ups, etc!
Great plays, music and acts. Highly recommend!
Cool venue with multiple stages, funky decor and gender neutral bathrooms
Awesome venue time of my life
Everyone was friendly. The Opera Modo performance of A Capacity for Evil was fabulous. Was nice to enjoy a drink before the show.
What a cool place
Millions of ants, each more beautiful than the last. Easy 5 stars.
This is just a super cool place that supports creativity and performance. It has a full schedule of awesome stuff to see and do. Check it out for yourself.
Everyone who works there is super friendly. Its a great venue!
The event was a burlesque show and it was great. The staff was friendly and it was great to have the bar next door.
Very cool venue and nice staff
Very cool place for an event, plus good bar
Took a workshop here. Bit of a fixer upper but I had fun with Black and Brown Theater.
Really enjoyed Hedwig & the Angry Inch
Interesting setting, great place for local theater. Bar is a nice perk
A cool little venue in Hamtramck, across the street from the Ant Theater so be careful if the show youre attending might be there. We saw kill Tony and the Tony Hinchcliffe Stand Up Show for the MotorCity Comedy Festival. The venue as well organized but we did feel jammed and with vary little legroom on folding aluminum chairs. The staff were friendly, there was a cash bar and the bathrooms are serviceable. The sound system was good for Stand Up Show we had no trouble hearing. We parked at the library nearby because the street parking was full.
Great venue for small events
Great venue reasonable drink prices
This concert halls mission is to help local artists and foster the arts scene in Detroit.
Nice venue would perform there any day given opportunity.
This is where improv lives in Detroit. It used to live in another part of town but got evicted. Check it out girl! Have a drink at the bar first. Its improv.
Rad event space with a good size setup!
Great little local joint
Awesome shows!
They have lots of live music and comedy shows too. Take a look at there website
Good place for unique Detroit shows and events.
Great music venue plus good food
The best in live local music and comedy.
Love this place so much.
Some ,if not the best entertainment in metro Detroit.
