What a lovely carousel!I took my 85 yr old mom on a spin around for a reminder of childhood! We both LOVED IT!

Awesome to see a relic from the Buckroe Beach amusement park restored and operating today!

This was the second time in thirty five years that my wife and I experienced the joy of the carousel. What made it even better was sharing it with two of our youngest grandchildren ( their first time ).

A beautiful location for the family.

My parents uses to live near Buckaro beach when they were first married. I heard about the carousel growing up and decided to look on line to fine more information about it. I was thrilled when I found out that it was intact and operational. I took my mom to see it as a surprise trip, it was great she was so happy to know it had been taken care of. The only bad part was that it was closed for a private party and we were not able to ride it.

Beautiful atmosphere right on the water. My kids love to play in the sand right outside of the carousel. Genius idea!

There isnt many places left like this,especially in Hampton! It is great to be able to take your kids here, and the history of the carousel is awesome as well for anyone who appreciated history.

For $1 you can ride this 1920 beautiful and historical antique covered carousel. Its one of 190 remaining wooden merry-go-rounds that still exists. Restored to a majestic state of galloping creamy colored pastel horses. A treasured piece of history well worth the stop in downtown Hampton.

Our 1 and a half year old son loved it the music and seeing all the horses. Workers were very courteous and friendly.

Beautiful carousel! Lots of history and a great thing to share with grandchildren. Much better than a video game.

This carousel is a must-see. It was built around 1920, and used to be housed at Buckroe Beach. It has an amazing history! It has been beautifully restored, and even has a working calliope, which can be played while you ride. All of the workers are nice to be around, and it is a joy for young and old alike!

Fun for the kids...an air conditioned treat for adults.

It was closed for the season. I wish they had updated their hours to reflect that.

Great place to take the little ones. Cool vintage carousel. You can see the old calliope, and the horses move up and down while spinning. The staff is friendly, and the price is very good.It is also right by the NASA Virginia air and space museum.

My son loved the carousel! It’s a steal at $1 a ride per person. They use a real electric organ, so it can be a bit loud.

Granddaughter loved it. But surprised to see 3 employees working with so few customers.

When they open on time they are fine but often they dont follow thier own hours. If you call to complain it may take awhile to get to someone actually useful but once there they are kind apologetic and will work with you to try and right the situation.

Such a delight for the kids, not to mention getting out of the heat for awhile. Our only issue was the carousel music was quite loud as this is an enclosed space, but hey, for a buck a ride; ya cant beat it !

Online the hours show that they close at 8:00 pm... soooooooooo we came at 5:30pm. THEY WERE CLOSED!!!!!!!!! WE CAME FROM THE OCEANFRONT TO VISIT THIS PLACE AND THEY CHANGED THE HOURS WITHOUT UPDATING ONLINE!!!!! CALL THE DAY OF TO MAKE SURE THEY DIDNT DECIDE TO CLOSE EARLY. WAS OF TIME AND GAS!!!!
