Cozy place to see live theater and musicals. I love that we have this place in town! Show up early...parking can sometimes be interesting
For such a small community there seems to be a large pool of talent.
Love the Hamilton Playhouse....looking forward to Hounds of Baskerville. Wonderful talent in this valley. Ticket person was super friendly...
Im always thrilled, never expect to be blown away by these talented actors and actresses and thats what happens. Every. Single. Time. Affordable, local, comfortable, theater. On a serious note, if you enjoy theater and youre not going to the plays, youre letting the best in Montana pass you by.
Everytime we are involved with or attend something with this place it is awesome

Such a great place for all your decorating needs!!
This 160-seat theater is one of the most engaging, intimate performance spaces in Montana. Theres always new and returning talent onstage, and a commitment to excellent production is apparent every time.
I had a very enjoyable evening. The performers were very professional and comfortable on stage. The venue and volunteers were friendly. Thank you.Barbara Ackerman
Lotsa fun, even a tear or two. Found myself chanting and marveling in unison with the story...loved the corrupt and yet normal relationships... innocent and protective at once, undefeated at last. Roxie was glamourous and innocent, Velma silky and pragmatic. Amos and Billy Flynn were point and counterpoint, both lovable. Ive been humminghe had it coming ever since along with other snippets of the marvellous music.Give me more!!!
Excellent performance of one of my favorites- Chicago
Not a bad seat in the house! We will definitely be back again and again.

For such a small theatre they do it right!
The summer camps are really fun for my kids, and the plays are wonderful.

Love the small playhouse with local talent
Delightfully Dark Demon BarberSweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street from the Hamilton Playhouse was a true delight. From the Playhouse itself, the wonderfully talented cast, musical numbers and ensembles, to the director this play was incredible. If not for but one performance, this play would have been perfect. When first stepping into the Hamilton Playhouse one is unsure of how good the play will be as the theater seats about 150 people. It is barely bigger than someone’s garage. The stage itself seems small and the props, although well done, seem to be insufficient. That’s where one would be wrong, as the play was magnificent and there was no issue in size of the theater. The props were flipped around several times to make completely different locations on a level that would seem impossible. The instrumentals were visible at the back of the stage lit by ambient lighting and were all in character, making it that much more enjoyable. The director, Denise Rose, did an excellent job casting and directing this musical and making it truly enjoyable for all. The musical direction came from Emily Athman, these two did an excellent job working together to make a cohesive piece of art. At nearly every turn of the play there was greatness followed by magnificence, and the marks were hit impeccably. The cast itself featured some absolutely beautiful voices and solid acting, surprising by the fact it is a fairly small community. Eric Monson had a great stage presence and looked the part of the menacing Sweeney Todd with a great voice. Jamie Parnell as Anthony Hope looked the part and had a brilliant voice. Steve Winkler as Beadle Bamford also had a good voice. Arthur Milliken as judge Turbin did an excellent job at being hated by the audience. Austin Athman brought comedic value with his accent and facial acting. The beggar woman, Julie Fryberger, was comedic and looked the part. The ensemble and supporting actors and acresses all did well and all had great voices.Tasha Fain played Johanna Barker and nailed her part entirely. She was able to stay in perfect character and hit her marks. With the only falsetto voice she helped to make the ensembles the best it could be. The Ballad of Sweeney Todd without her would not have been the same at all. She looked the part as she was stunningly beautiful and fair skinned. At one point there was a freeze frame and she hit it perfectly in mid-run with the perfect expression on her face. There was one area in the play that was subpar, really just one actor. Justin Winder played Tobias Ragg, or rather attempted to play him. The one weak link in a very strong cohesive chain, made certain times of the play unenjoyably contrite due to bad awkward acting, horrid singing, and very bad miscued stage presence. He simply did not fit the part and would have been better suited playing in the background, or not at all. He was nearly a complete distraction to everything that was happening on stage.Even though Justin Winder was in quite a few scenes with Mara Ann Luther, Mrs. Nellie Lovett, she was able to make those scenes great. Not to take away from Tasha Fain’s performance, which was impeccable, Mara Ann Luther stole the show. With her humorous scenes and disposition to her singing and facial acting, she was perfect. At times one could not stop laughing, at other times in awe by her mere presence. She was the perfect addition to this play, and Denise Rose couldn’t have found a better actress. If I were to give a numerical value based on the 5-star system, I would give this musical a 4.5. If not for one actor this play could have been the perfect 5. As it was it was still definitely worth seeing and was the most enjoyable thing I have seen in quite a while. The singing, acting, musical number and directing all came together in one congruent piece of art. The actors and actresses brought valuable things to the table and it all meshed well.
Great shows, lots of talent
