I attended the Art Factory several times and staff is very professional and courtesy, the facility was more than amazing! Nothing like I have ever expected the courtesy and professionalism artist hands from the owner. The pictures came out great, I was able to pick the picture I wanted my guest including myself was extremely happy. Music, food, painting and the laughter was the absolute BEST!!! My hats off to the business owners, and to top it off they extend their place to the community for extravagant ideas and kids of ALL ages blows me away :-)

I hosted a birthday party at the Vixen Ready Art Factory.I admit I was nervous considering an outside venue to do my nieces birthday. However after contacting Gina and Curtis my opinion and outlook completely changed.The experience with the owners was amazing.Gina and her husband were extremely accommodating to my needs including allowing my event planner to come in early to set up.Gina allowed me to bring my own supplies for the theme of the party and still allowed us to use the studios paint, aprons, and brushes.Gina was very patient with my niece and her friends.We all know that 10 year old girls can be a little rowdy.Gina allowed me to utilize all parts of the studio.The time that was allotted was more than enough time and the special accommodations.The pricing of this place was out of this world...I researched several other places in the area and nothing compared to what I was provided with for this space.I will definitely utilize this space again.I definitely enjoyed working with Gina and Curtis and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a space for a special event because they made my nieces 10th birthday VERY SPECIAL!

Wow! I just read some of the poor reviews, and this can not be the same place I visited last weekend. The owners are amazing people. The were very organized, and their art studio was very classy! I honestly wasnt expecting it to be so nice (being that it is an art studio). The art instruction was on point, and everyones pictures turned out great! This place is and will continue to be a 5 star for me and my family. Its unfortunate others try to bring this nice couple down. They are doing a great job!

Owner is very spicy and keeps you laughing the entire class! Me and my co-workers will return!

Sunday, February 17th I came here for my Granddaughters birthday party. It was a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. Everything was set up and ready for each participant. The husband and wife owners were very personable, professional, polite and helpful.Male, female, young and old had a great time.They work very well with you to make sure that your experience there is a pleasant and memorable one.I would reccomend this place to anyone who is looking for something different to do.Paulette Branch

I attended a birthday party for my cousin. I have to say a great time was had by all. The owners were attentive and respectful to all painters regardless of ability. I cant wait to attend another event or drop in on Thursday nights.

Great experience. The owners were very engaged and made the experience from start to finish a very enlightening one. Gina was very patient when dealing with my teenage daughter and her friends. Communication and expectations were set and carried out at a high level of satisfaction. Ill be booking again soon.

I attended a sip n paint party this past Saturday, and I had a wonderful time! Cant wait to attend an open paint nite very soon!

The instructor is laid back and she wants you to be satisfied with your painting before you leave but also have fun and dont be caught up how it looks until its finished, youll walk out happy

I was at a paint party for my friends birthday on 2/2 and I can attest that Gina the owner was very rude and unprofessional. She said my friend did not pay her but how can you have a private party there without paying? She tried to scam my friend out of additional money for a possible walk in. If you are thinking about having a party here think again..youve been warned! If you write a review about her poor customer service then the owner Gina will harass you via phone and text, which she did to my friend tonight! She is very unprofessional. Gina, there are sites where my friend can screenshot your text messaged and phone call after her review so please stop harassing her!

Ive held a paint and play for my infant and a few other moms at Vixen Art Studio. The babies enjoyed and the parents had a good time bonding with other parents and watching their child/ren enjoy themselves. It was a great experience all across the board and the owners were extremely professional, courteous and a pleasure to work with. So much that my nieces God mother threw her 10th birthday party at the same location. Our friends and families enjoyed each time.

Great experience each time Ive been. She creates an environment for the crowd shes entertaining that night. Honestly, who cares if she used a little profanity everyone does. Shes talented, my sister conpleted ruined her picture and Gina brought it back to life. I had a private paint night at Vixen Art Studio Sat 2/2 8 p to 11 p, well it was supposed to be until 11 but we were out by 10:30 p. Anyway talking with Gina prior to the paint night she stated I can come an hour early 7 p to set up. I arrive at 7 and there were still people in the studio from a previous party, which is fine, but when I arrived with a few guests, Gina was not welcoming at all!!! Idk if she was upset that I actually came on time to set up and didnt show up on CPT time, who knows. Anyway, when setting up I had to ask her was she Gina, which she said yes. Again, not friendly at all nor welcoming, which my friends who came early to help set up noticed as well. Prior to starting she was playing loud rap music with alot of profanity, my friend asked if she could change the music to RnB which she replied she will when we start. I really felt uncomfortable, but it was a great time when she left the party to get more supplies i.e. paint and her assistant took over but not so much when she returned. Before the event when communicating with her she stated she needed the majority of the money up front and that she would allow a few walk ins, the walk ins could pay there. I told her the day before there maybe 2 or 3 walk ins, never did she say if a walk in didnt show, I would be responsible for paying. At the end of the night, Gina proceeded to tell me that one walk in didnt have to pay because I guess she knew her but I would have to pay for the other possible walk in..What!!!! I was so upset, I just walked out the studio. You just made $420 off of me and youre asking me for an additional $35 for a possible walk in slot...Really??? I think some business owners think they are doing you a favor by doing business with them and GINA AT VIXEN IS THAT TYPE OF BUSINESS OWNER! I also think she really does not realize how she comes off, shes very cold, and not personable. 7 out of the 11 people who attended noticed her bad attitude. This was a terrible birthday experience, one that I truly will not forget!

I was invited to a Paint & Sip event, from 7p-10p on September 22, 2018 at Vixen Ready Art Factory located at 1700 Dixwell Ave, Hamden, CT 06514. When my two friends and I arrived to the event at 7:15, we were not formally greeted by the Instructor. Rather, she stated: “We need to get started now because we need to be out by 10pm”, in a very rude and abrupt tone. My friends and I informed her that we wanted to wait for the “Birthday Girl”, or celebrant, who was about 10 minutes away. She appeared displeased but adhered to our request and waited for the Birthday Girl to arrive before starting the event.As the event began, I noticed the picture was already outlined assumed it would not take long to complete. Upon starting to paint, the Instructor still had not made a proper introduction of herself or the event, and failed to inform us of any rules or expectations. As the event ensued, I began to make jokes with my friends and the Instructor seemed to be loosening up, even making my friends and I feel more comfortable towards her despite her prior behavior and rude remark. She even made a comment to me in a joking manner which could have been misconstrued as an insult and unprofessional, but since the atmosphere became a bit lighter, I took no offense to it as it was in a joking manner.After some time my painting began to look completely different than the painting we were replicating. I then told the Instructor in a comical and joking manner: “You gotta help me, I messed it all the way up. You’re gonna have to paint the whole background a dark color because I don’t know what I’m doing,” as my friends and I laughed at my deplorable artistic skills. The Instructor then said: “First of all, I don’t have to do anything, I’m being nice by helping others in the class, but I don’t have to.” At this time I was shocked by the Instructor’s response as I assumed it was her job to assist us and also assumed we were all having a fun time. She began saying I was “demanding” her to help me when asking for her assistance. After a few moments of shared dialogue with the Instructor I finally told her I no longer needed her help. I then went to have a seat on the other side of the room and looked for assistance by a friend at the event.My friend then asked the Instructor for assistance which was when the Instructor continued talking aggressively in an insulting manner. She stated abruptly: “What you need to do is start doing it yourself and then I will help you when I can, like I was telling ‘Her’”, as she pointed directly at me. At this point I was taken aback by her comment and demeanor towards me as I previously took myself out of eye sight in an attempt to de-escalate any previous conflict/disagreement. I then began gathering my belongings, stating that I would be leaving as I wanted the Birthday Girl and my friends to enjoy the event without having to adhere to any hostility brought towards me by the Instructor. Upon my statement of my leaving, the Instructor then stated: “If I was a white woman you would not be demanding me to help you and as ‘brown sisters’ should not be speaking to me this way.” By this time I was extremely upset and triggered and was rude in my comments towards her and her rude demeanor and behaviors towards myself and my friends.As we exchanged dialogue, her husband walked towards me in an intimidating and aggressive fashion. He then began making verbal threats aggressively, stating: “You need to leave here and get your husband or boyfriend cause you’re not going to talk to my wife like that”, implying a physical fight/altercation with a male presence associated to me. Due to my irritation and fear for my safety, I began leaving the event. As I walked out, the Instructor began to make reference to my body size and physical appearance, stating: “If I looked like you I would be miserable too.”I believe this last comment and insult was highly inappropriate as I was actively being “body shamed” which is totally unacceptable. This behavior is bullying and I, nor anyone else, should be subject to bullying.

Awesome atmosphere and pleasant experience!! I have a ball every time I attend!!

The owner has a very bad attitude and a filthy mouth. Didnt enjoy my time. She wasnt helpful. She kept referencing if she was a white owner as if that matters. She was still unpleasant.
