We have been going to the playhouse for many years. I have to say that this was one of our best experiences yet.The food was absolutely amazing.The servers were great, and were also the performers.WCP did an amazing job at social distancing the guests and all the performers wore clear masks so as to not block the view and to keep everyone safe.

Such a lovely little venue. Ive gone for adult and kid shows alike. The adult shows are high class, with delicious themed food. The actors are your waiters. Come prepared to tip on the entire purchase, including the ticket.The kids plays are very inexpensive for what you get. It is a joyful experience that made my 5 year olds week. They care about all the tiny details. I highly recommend the experience.

Saw Legally Blonde the Musical here on a Saturday evening. Arrived seated and was called in order of arrival to salad bar. Decent salad bar romaine lettuce, eggs, Caesar dressing would have been awesome though. Hot Buffet was disappointing. Wasnt sure what if there was lobster in the lobster mac and cheese. Ran out of chicken and the cook proceeded to tell me there was no more. I think they saw the dismay on my face and went to the back and produced more, but it was a confusing exchange. But alas the food was not why I came. The show was awesome. They used the entire space for the high energy numbers, great casting everyone did amazing, shout out to my waiter who played Kyle (hilarious) and lovvvveed Enid Hoopes.

They are extremely friendly and welcoming. They always put on a fantastic show. The food is ok. Not great. Could use improvement. But its ALWAYS worth it for the show. And especially if you can get discount coupons.

An exceptional local theater experience. Yesterday evening was my first time at the Playhouse, and I was absolutely blown away by the quality of this venue. The food is good, and the show was absolutely wonderful from start to finish.The dedication and heart that go into the production clearly shine through, as the actors delivered Broadway-level performances throughout. Because of the unique space that this is in, the show is performed all around you at times, which adds a unique wonder to the evening.All of the staff and actors were warm, friendly, and fun from the moment you walk in; it truly feels like a small family. I would highly recommend a night out at the Playhouse for any theater buffs!

The shows presented are consistently enjoyable and of high caliber! The actors and actresses are truly stellar, memorable. Its so nice and easy to become absorbed into the performances and escape the dramas and traumas of everyday life outside the entrance doors to the lobby. Thank you for providing live theatre!

I took my eight year old daughter to see The Little Mermaid at the Washington County Playhouse this weekend and it was amazing! The performers were incredibly kind, enthusiastic and so talented! They captivated the audience with humor, beautiful costumes and wonderful songs. Their dinner service was outstanding too. We will definitely be back!

It is a wonderful venue with good food and the waitstaff/actors are great. I enthusiastically recommend it for theater goers everywhere.

My husband and I attended Grease on Sat. Feb. 23rd and we were highly impressed. Hot Buffet, as always, is beyond delicious, salad bar is always fresh and dessert was very good. The actors work so hard and are so dedicated in providing excellent service and a wonderful show. Today, Sun Feb 24, we were watching the movie Grease. We were even more amazed how the Playhouse actors looked just like the original Grease cast. Bravo!

We went to see SWEENEY TODD the demon barber, this was our first time here . We didnt know what to expect. The actors and actresses went above and beyond it was an amazing night to say the least, very impressed with the preformance and the dinner they served and our drinks from the bar A++++! The only thing i can say negative is the others who attended the show wearing jeans and t shirts come on guys .. For a great night out we will be attending future shows here again! Thank you for a fantastic night out we wont soon forget!

Our first time visiting for our dads 79th birthday. The food was yummy and the play, The Little Mermaid was amazing. Excellent story, awesome acting and singing. The choice of people playing certain parts was right on. Great job!!

Enjoyed Little Mermaid The cook and the bird made me laugh so did the crab. Intimate venue. Actor waiters very pleasant . Worth my 90 minute drive.

First time going and saw Sweeney Todd, i didnt expect a whole lot honestly but the vocal performances were genuinely amazing and a strong performance overall.

Their Cast Member, Shawn R. Martin, is an insult to all Americans and the whole theater community.

Wow last night was absolutely amazing!!! I had no idea Hagerstown had such an amazing program! The food, service, atmosphere, and production was amazing! The show wow. Such an amazing show with amazing actors and actresses or performers with amazing singing, acting, and dancing performances. Everyone made sure we were good and enjoying our experience as well. ️ definitely recommend and definitely coming back! Already booked the next show!! Which leads me to my next point.you were absolutely amazing! You could see in your face how much fun and how much you truly enjoy it. It was such a pleasure to watch you. Great little playhouse. Saw legally blonde. The wifes review of the acting was mostly good. The food was okay, not the best on the world, but we were pleased. The server was friendly (one of the actors). We saw a wide variety of different dress from the audience. Comparing to the other dinner theater weve been to, I would have liked a better stage set up. My wife has a column in front of her, and for different scenes we both had to look around it. But I dont think thats something they can change without a change of venue. Id love to see them move to an old grocery store or something (again I dont have a solution, but just the problem).

The play was fine but the meal was not good. Salad bar was iceberg lettuce. Nothing great. The meal was very plain and tasteless. The baked potato bites were like leather. The mac and cheese was not bad. Rolls ok but they offered fake butter which I wont touch so had to eat without butter. The waiters were good. I dont think I will be in a hurry to return.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the play house. We saw The Woman in Black which was performed very well. The food was decent I givw it a 7 out of 10. The waiters are also the actors which I thought was cool and they also had a nice drink selection. My wife and I will be back with our friends

I recently took my daughter to see Pinkalious and we had a great time! The lead actor was absolutely amazing and the rest of the cast was also wonderful! Pink and Peter had great chemistry as brother and sister! I highly recommend the playhouse for a great entertaining evening or afternoon!

Ill give this place 4 stars. My fiance and I are directors, writers, and actors ourselves, and we have attended several dinner theaters. We had a lot of fun here. The food was good for the price and the show was fun and funny.4 stars for two reasons. They are limited by the size of their buffet, which can only accommodate 5-6 people at a time, so it takes a long time to get everyone fed before the show starts. We were there for 5 hours. Again, it was an enjoyable 5 hours, but a long trip back home from Hagerstown as well.The other reason is more thespian in nature. The two main characters were really good, but some of the things the cast attempted could have been better. It definitely felt better than a normal community theater though. I wont get into specifics of my thoughts because the show was good and I want people to understand that my message to them in this review is:Go visit the Washington County Playhouse because its a good time at a good price.

I have been to the Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater and Childrens Theater several times in the last couple of years. I have attended both afternoon childrens productions and evening performances, and I have not been disappointed. I have brought several friends and family members with me, all of whom have thoroughly enjoyed their experience. The food is very good (that honey butter is the best!), the atmosphere is pleasant, and the people are just wonderful!

This place is so amazing, well worth it, I went there , and the staff was very welcoming, nice and kind.

If youre into low budget independent theater productions this is your spot. We saw HSM, and we loved it. Id definetly make that drive back to H-town to see another production.Drinks are on point!Going to have to knock off a star for food; the entire menu was hot dog or pizza + potato chips (while not my cup of tea the kids loved the selection). I imagine there are some other options when it is not a kids day - looks like I see some othe reviews talking about buffets.

You can tell that the people working here truly care about what they are doing. I went for Legally Blonde and while the food was just okay, the service and show was wonderful! The actors pull double duty and work as the service staff and then jump right into the show.

This is one of our favorite places. Whether it be a date night, girls night out for main stage or a Sat afternoon with the kids at a show for a young audience.Casts are always full of amazing talent. Some cast members double as servers during the meal. This brings a very special element to young audiences. I love watching kids faces as they recognize the actor.Main stage performances are fantastic. We are always impressed! I live the variety of shows each season.

Our family has been going to the Playhouse for several years now and we always leave happy. The staff are friendly and professional from the waiters to the actors and everyone in between. The Theater for Young Audiences shows are entertaining (for kids and their parents) and a great value given the ticket prices for most shows that dont include a meal. It is a great way to expose kids to theater.

Wonderful small intimate dinner theater. Good choice of famous musical theater and more unique modern productions. Good food. Engaging actor/waiter staff.

Please help these owners continue live theater. P.s. You dont bring a 2 month old to a movie, concert or live theater where you can disturb other patrons who have paid their money to watch/listen their concert or production. The owners handled thus according to posted policy so quit badmouthing them.

Friends took me to see a Christmas Carol. The food was good, the show was great. Solid acting and wonderful singing. I highly recommend seeing a performance here.

I recently went to see Shrek with my nieces. It was really a great production. The kids loved it. The staff was very friendly. I also attended Gypsy with some friends and that was top notch as well. Everyone is so friendly and the food is great. If you havent been to a production there, you should go.

Nice Play, enjoyed it! Dashing threw the Snow Matt you killed it as the Crazy Man. Everyone was good love Live Theater. I didnt come for the food, but it did suck! Plain frozen enrtes at best ...Anyone says the food was good is lieing! Thats why you have A Bar! A nice night out plenty of parking so no worries. Thank you

Great little place with quality talent!

A great place for an evening out! The shows and actors/actresses are amazing, the service and dinner are superb! There is very convenient parking close by with safe and bright lighting after dark.

Wonderful experience as always. I have been a supporter for over 30 years. I now take my children in hopes that they will continue to support the local arts.

My family (myself, my husband, my brother, my sister, and our 3 3-year-olds) have seen 3 childrens performances and all three were loved by my son. The actors do a wonderful job keeping the children interested, keeping the audience feeling as though they are part of the story, and the over-all atmosphere of the performance and experience has been awesome. The food is lack-luster (choice of microwave-style pizza or standard hot dog with potato chips) but for $15 you cant expect much. The specialty drinks for the kids, however, are nothing short of delightful! They are all themed to each show and most of them have been color changing and include things like whipped cream and cotton candy. A huge hit with the kids! We have been to see Jack and the Beanstalk, Sleeping Beauty, and Frosty the Snowman. All three were talked about for days by the kids. We plan on coming to as many kids shows as we can. They provide a truly wonderful theater experience for young kids.

It does somewhat look like a small hole in the wall at first, but once inside you realize it is actually quite a nice set up. There is a great selection of food that generally goes along with the show being put on, which is always interesting. The service is great, and the shows themselves are wonderful. There is so much work and effort put in to each show and it is reflected in the final product. Ive been going to the playhouse for years now and Ive never seen a show I didnt enjoy.

My entire family enjoys the Playhouse. My husband and I enjoy date nights for main stage shows and my kids love the child-centered productions. Always a wonderful experience!

I first discovered the Playhouse in the late 80s. Hagerstown is not Hagerstown without the Playhouse. New owners, Shawn & Laura, have put their hearts & souls into the Playhouse, offering top-notch entertainment, awesome food and a positive vibe. Their primary focus is that everyone - patrons, actors and staff - has an enjoyable experience. This is a place of business like any other; therefore, rules are set in place to ensure every guest has a memorable experience. I applaud the owners for enforcing those rules so that all patrons can enjoy themselves without distractions. (I wish movie theaters would do the same!) I strongly encourage anyone who has not yet had the pleasure of experiencing the Playhouse to call and make your reservations today!

I was Unable to access website about policies. With it saying a childrens theater we figured our two month old could come. As soon as we got there Laura Martin came up to us saying we cant stay because of him. so we asked for a refund since they were kicking us out. She said no. Then Shawn Martin came up and aggressively told us no. Thanks for making us feel uncomfortable, dont call yourself a childrens theater. Our Christmas dinner show was ruined. It was part of our Christmas present from my parents.Not to mention if we did stay for the show our seats were at a terrible location in the corner and the tables were to small for normal size person to sit comfortably under.The food was good, our waitress was nice.

I have been going to this theater on and off for years. Always has awesome performances. Plus the people who do it all have incredible hearts.

I have not been to the playhouse with the new owners however, I have been there many times in the past. I was there Saturday night for the show. Imagine my surprise when I got the bar bill to find out you now charge for ice tea and coffee. These two items were always included in the past with the meal. I think they should still be. Just my opinion.

Unfortunately, after driving over 2 hours to go to the theatre we were very disappointed. The food was mediocre and barely warm. Unfortunately the acting wasnt much better. Not expecting professional level acting but more than bad accents and over dramatic death scenes. Nice thought for a night out, but not worth the money. Left after Act one.

They were all nice and friendly people but they could update the facility a little more as it seemed to be too cramped for the style of production they were going for.The food was mediocre at best and the way they have it set up let the last groups called eating mush.

We went to see the country show in October..have to say the show was great,but the best singer was lisa..first time we ever heard or seen her there before..she has a beautiful voice and a spectacular range..we hope to see her in more shows there..with her voice,she will go far..and she looks good too.the service and food was wonderful also...everybody just made us feel welcome

My son and I celebrated his 14th birthday last week at the Washington County Playhouse. The performance of Shrek was outstanding! Weve had the opportunity to see several shows and are NEVER disappointed. The level of talent far exceeds what would be expected in Hagerstown. The food is always delicious, the staff friendly, and the atmosphere welcoming.

Ive both worked at WCP and been a patron since 1992ish. Its an amazing theater with wonderful talent. Its a favorite destination when I make it back home!

We tried to never miss a show at this theater. We always sit at table 57. See you at the next show.
