Loved this hidden gem! Only found this place due to my coworker telling me about it. You will not be disappointed. Free museum that encourages donations ($5 for adults and $3 for kids). They have a train that adults can ride with a tunnel. Very cool place to visit with or without kids.

Very cool! Kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt. Our handicapped son LOVED it. It is very clear people have put many years and many hours into making this a cool affordable place. I think it can use some newer items and upgrading or I would have given a easy 5! Great place, nice people working there. Must take the kids!

I have been limited to what we have been able to do with our little this summer. Covid19 has put a damper on most of that and then I had major foot surgery. But I wanted to find something we could take him that he loves as much as his daddy. Been trying to plan to go for the last year. So we got an opening in his dads schedule to get away when I got back from IN. Only thing that was disappointing this trip was the food in the area. We had such a good time here made it all worth the trip down from Tuscaloosa. They even changed out the trains you ride on so I could be I cannot walk on my foot and am on a Knee Scooter still. The set ups all the way thru was awesome I never once had a problem getting around. And they have little scavenger hunt pages you can do and it made it super exciting. He even took off and came back saying I brought help when he couldnt locate the last two items after about six trips around the room. And the Lego displays as well as the train displays are amazing. Lots of fun packed into a little road side Train Museum. Staff was super friendly and more than willing to come help with any questions. Highly recommended if your looking to get away and the beach is just up the road. So much fun, thanks guys and gals for all your help yesterday. Really take your time and take it all in. You would be amazed at what you didnt see the first time around the table!

My 3yr old loves this place! They recommended a donation of $5 for an adult and $2 for kids or you can even buy a membership. They have tons of model trains on display and ones that run that kids can turn on by a timer. The best part though is out back where kids and adults can ride on a small train on a decent sized track that even goes through a tunnel. Theres also some hand pedal cars that the little ones can pedal around a track or parents can push them. They have more model trains running outside and a few outside games. There were some small Thomas the Train ride ons but it looks like that area is under construction now. Still they have several buildings with running model trains to cool off when the heat from outside gets to be too much. They are only open from 12-5pm so be prepared with water because although there are a few shady trees its still blistering hot. Theres always a cute little lending library outside in the middle of the train area. Has a nice little gift shop with some fun train toys for little ones to take home as souvenirs too. So a great place to take little ones but be prepared to alternate between inside and outside and with plenty of water. Oh and masks are required.

Trains, trains and more trains!A really nice place to bring youngsters. The museum is oriented to kids of all ages, with special emphasis on young ones. There is an outdoor riding train, a pedal train, and numerous whimsical outdoor trains.Indoors, there are several many model railroad layouts in various scales: HO, O, N, and even Z gauges. They have an excellent collection of antique toy trains in a separate exhibit. They even have Lego trains. The staff and volunteers operating this museum are knowledgeable, outgoing, friendly and obliging. All in all, its a hidden gem tucked away on Pass Road, well worth visiting. If you have kids, theyll want you to bring them back. One visit is hardly enough!A special mention to manager Ms. Tracy Lawrence, as well as Casey and Warren, who all went out out of their way to explain the various exhibits.

I had no idea how large the museum is, and how many intricate, fascinating exhibits are there. We spent almost 3 hours, and I cant wait to go back, and go through it in more detail. They have a large room created specifically for childrens parties. They have every size of model, from rail cars that are smaller than my little finger (complete with equally tiny environments & people), to one large enough to give rides around the museum grounds. They have several rooms, an outdoor area that covers the better half of a block, and a gift shop. The staff/volunteers are welcoming. Its a wonderful experience!
