Everyone at pottery coats studio is so friendly and welcoming. The studio is well organized and very clean! All the tools are shared and all the people there help out when you are confused or have a question on the next step. Great spot for both new or seasoned potters!

I am SOOOO glad that this studio opened. Ive always wanted to learn to throw pottery. Initially I took an adult school class at Arroyo Grande High School. There was close to zero instruction provided and I left knowing not much more than when I came in! Susan Bass is and excellent instructor. We were all centering the clay quickly by the first class. Susan really knows her stuff and will help you whenever you need it, even if its not during an organized class time. Pottery Coast is a wonderful studio with a great environment. Ive met alot of great people there and enjoy coming in to use the facilities when it fits best into my schedule. There are hand building and wheel throwing classes and the studio is set up with everything you need. If truly feels like a community studio where all are welcome, regardless of experience level. If you are thinking about taking a pottery class, this is the place to come! The owner, Susan is a knowledgeable and talented artist and instructor. Her studio is very well supplied and organized. There is even a ceiling heater that was able to keep the entire studio warm and toasty on this cold and windy day. Today was my 3rd fun and productive class, although, she also has open studio time every day, so I can just pop in and work on projects on my own. Susan has everything you need right there for you! Even the apron to keep your cloths clean!

Susan Bass is an excellent teacher and a talented artist. Pottery Coast has everything you could possibly need to do pottery, from supplies to a fun and artistic atmosphere. I had a lot of fun learning how to make a bowl here! Ive never done pottery before, but Susan was a patient teacher and with her guidance I was able to learn how to work a wheel and properly handle clay.

I had zero experience with pottery before coming to this studio but it was something I had always wanted to try and Im so glad I did! Susan is a really good teacher and the whole vibe of the studio is very relaxing. If you need advice theres almost always a more experienced potter around to help but if you just want your own creative space you can still find it here. If youre interested in trying out pottery, I highly recommend signing up for a class at Pottery Coast; you wont regret it.

Pottery Coast is seriously the BEST thing happening in Grover Beach! Such a great studio that offers different classes, a heated space, gorgeous glazes, a cool vibe, and a overall comfortable community art center.It’s definitely the place to be!!
