Beautiful place. Went to my nephews wedding reception there. Because of Covid, the reception was outside. Although it was a beautiful evening, the ground was wet from a previous rain and chairs would sink in about 2 inches. They should of rolled out some kind of mat under the tent. Also ladies restroom was not convenient. The many stairs to go down to the reception area had no railings which made it very hard for some people especially the elderly.On a good note, this place is beautiful and the food was wonderful.

Hard not to love the atmosphere at this place. We attended the Fever outdoor candlelight quartet and it was a great night. Nice gardens, right off the lake.

This is one of our most beloved locations. We have visited the War Memorial for numerous events, speakers, and even dances for the kids!With an amazing view, a beautifully maintained grounds and lots of space for events, the War Memorial is a regular destination for locals and tourists alike.

As always, Im proud to serve on the board at The War Memorial. We are focused on patriotism and creating great experiences for Veterans! The Veterans day breakfast was well attended despite the weather. A Vet spoke whos life has been changed, literally saved, by his Guardian Angel Medical Service dog, Roy. Serving Vets like him is why we are here!

Beautiful, serene and festive venue overlooking Lake St. Clair appointed on the eastern shoreline. Parking is ok. The kitchen was next to the the main hall, would have preferred it not be located adjacent to the main hall, that way the kitchen noise would be minimal. The main entrance was appropriate for the venue.

One of my favorite wedding venues.I have been there twice for weddings. Staff is very friendly and helpful, facilities are clean and the grounds are maintained gorgeously. The building feels grand and the views do not disappoint. I highly recommend.

Saw Starwars at the theater. It was a clean and quaint place. Family and I enjoyed the box seats R1-4. Staff was friendly as a wedding was also happening. We would go again.

This place is amazing! My family has worked for the Grosse Pointe War Memorial for 40 years or so. They donated the Ball Room for my mothers, Maureen Hunt, memorial. It was beautiful! The gardens, Lake St. Clair, the food...it all was amazing! Thank you so much for your generosity, it was very much appreciated.

Thank you for honoring those who served! Amazing place! Now if only the board of this non-profit were more generous with the revenue this place generates and gave back to their employees more that keep this mansion in tip top shape whom run the daily operations, and not keep so much for themselves. As a veteran who fought in war and understand this companies complete operations, I would consider that to be very honorable and respectable. Thats when Ill give it a 5 star rating. Nonetheless, Im still going to have my wedding here. Keep up the great work staff!

Was recently here for a wedding. This place is BEAUTIFUL! The food was pretty good, the garden was pretty...However, my phone was directed to Canada the entire time, and I hardly had any signal.Great place to take photos!

Beautiful setting for a wedding. I was a bit saddened when I saw the exterior facade crumbling. I dont know what the financial situation is,but I hope they get the outside repaired soon.

This is a very beautiful ️ place to attend. The food was very good and the service was great the staff were very very professional and yet made you feel at home comfortable atmosphere. A little hard to find if you drive fast youll miss the sign, so take your time driving down Jefferson Ave.

We went Here for a Good Friends Wedding it was very nice and definitely a good place for veterans to go and have a safe place to hang out by veterans I mean the ones that live in Grosse Pointe or around the area... they had a movie theater equipped with everything including popcorn and drinks very impressive they also had a lot of cool artwork and statues I think it was reasonably priced for Hall thats included to have a nice wedding there. Their library and other adjoining rooms had a lot of history and very interesting hand carved molding etc.

Went to a wedding there very fun easy parking great views for pictures and backgrounds for pictures. Alot if history you wont be able to forget and food was great from the on site caterers.

I had my wedding here on 9/22/18. I couldnt ask for better customer service or a more beautiful venue to have my ceremony and reception in!The staff is wonderful to work with and very accommodating. We held our reception in the actual mansion and the setup was beautiful. The food was excellent and the grounds are amazing for photography.

Beautiful place to have a wedding, awesome views and very cool garden. However the food during a wedding reception we recently attended, wasnt as good as youd expect for the Grosse Pointe area. The food was a let down. The museum items here are very cool and the whole venue has a historical landmark feel to it. Fun place to visit.

As most Grosse Pointers and many eastsiders know, the War Memorial is s terrific place for receptions and special programs. My daughters wedding reception was there many years ago and they did a great job. Im writing this review after seeing my first movie in the revamped theater. I think they missed the mark. Its all brand new but its quite cumbersome. Unless you want to wait for the elevator, you have to walk down a fairly narrow stairway to get to the theater entrance. The lobby area is quite small and the limited refreshments area looks like something temporary. The viewing screen is smallish. I was skeptical when this project was first announced and that skepticism continues with my first visit.
