Alchemy is one of the highlights of life in Greenville. I find myself missing it all the time during Covid, but they are offering interesting online options for a laugh. The theater is intimate, and the raw and authentic improv from a variety of teams never fails to make me laugh, give my brain something to noodle over, and brighten my day. The theater is in the basement of Coffee Underground which makes it convenient for bringing in a drink or bite to eat. I was lucky enough to do Improvs 101 class last fall at a nice facility in another location in Greenville and look forward to more classes!

Amazingly funny! Weekly shows every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30pm and 9pm. They even have an improv jam! Great local talent and performers.

This was a fun place to visit in downtown Greenville, SC. Members of the audience were able to sign up to participate in the improv comedy show. Some of the skits had a few haha moments but it was a free show so I enjoyed the experience of being there.

Its hilarious and definitely worth the ticket price. Its a really positive atmosphere and everyone is so kind. They have a free show at 10:30 every saturday that i would highly recommend

Improv Show on Saturday night was not good at all, we went for my sisters birthday and were very disappointed!!! We left in the middle of it, to find something else to do. Please DO NOT waste your time or money.

Terrible! We attended the improv show on Saturday night and it was horrible. None of the jokes were funny it was painful to watch this train wreck. There was barely anyone in the audience and the majority of them were their own people! Please don’t bother yourself or waste your money with this garbage!

If youre getting burned out by repeating the same date night routine every weekend, then watching one of Alchemys improv shows is a great way to break up the monotony. If you dont want to pay full price for a ticket, they even offer a free show on Friday at 10:30 p.m.

Its amazing how they make something out of nothing. Every show is different, from short form games to long form. Definitely stay for a couple shows, so you see the variety and consummate skill of these talented people. And you can even try your hand at it some nights! Or take classes!

The show I went to was pretty terrible. I feel like this group tends to attract people who think theyre funny but theyre really not. Lot of awkward silence and people in the audience barely laughing.

Love this place. Every show I have seen is always a good time. Alchemy is hilarious and good for a date night or any night out. 10/10

If you are looking for good comedy, look elsewhere. My husband and I went, and left approximately 20 minutes into the show. Apparently, Alchemy believes the only way to be funny is to be extremely vulgar.

Pretty cheesy but still a good time

If you go to an early show, it will not be pg rated. I wasnt ready for it. We are big cruisers and have always gone to the Alchemy Comedy Show early on the ship. It was always family friendly. This show was definitely not.

What you get is based on the story told and what the cast has to go off of, but 9/10 the shows are hilarious. And with it being attached to Coffee Underground makes for a great relaxing atmosphere.

Alchemy Comedy Theater is a gem. Great date night option. Food, drinks and laughs from some really nice and gracious people. The show lineup never gets stale. There is a great mix of formats to tickle anyones funny bone. If you dont laugh here, you dont have a sense of humor!

Love spending my nights laughing at Coffee Underground. The Alchemy community is both welcoming and hilarious. I met someone in the audience that travels from Atlanta to see these shows-that speaks volumes about this great experience!

Great little stand up/improv show! The coffee was good also.

Great discovery downtown, have wanted to come for a while. We attended the late Saturday improv team cage battle. The comedians were very welcoming and took a lot of pride in their skills and were a refreshing riot. Would have loved show to be longer, but will be back for more for certain. Some of the jokes were really strange, but the personas that were created were true acting and quite witty. Also very engaging for the audience. Thanks for the laughs!

Hilarious, clean comedy

Never knew this place was here, but my wife and I went downtown for her birthday and ended up getting dessert at coffee underground and checked it out, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I highly recommend checking it out!

I took classes with the Alchemy Training Center and soon I was performing improv and sketch with Alchemy. Alchemy is a great, welcoming group of people. Classes are fun, performing is fun, watching the shows is fun. There are 6 shows every week. Even when Im not performing I often show up just to watch the hilarity.

Alchemy Comedy is a welcoming environment with talented performers, right in the center of downtown Greenville. The perfect night out for visitors or residents. You will laugh, you will smile, you will leave a better person.

Alchemy Comedy is the absolute best. Ive been to improv shows all over the country and Alchemy is the best I have ever seen. Go the the Local Legends show on Friday Nights and I guarantee you will not be dissappointed

Lots of fun. In a hyper casual atmosphere. This is improv. I thought it was good improv, but since the show is dynamic they wont all be the same. Early shows are family friendly. Late shows less so. Plan accordingly.

Its possible we caught them on a bad night...but it was a terrible show. We saw the 7:30 on my birthday and it was not funny. Its like they didnt even understand that the basic rule of improv is agreement and take what youre given. It was so bad as to be uncomfortable. The feeling in the room is that the rest of the audience felt the same way. Very little laughter. It was not how I wanted to end my birthday

I agree with Tegan - we saw slimprov and another act on Saturday night and it was the worst improv Ive ever seen. Audience was barely laughing and the comedians kept just insulting each other and not weaving together any story, just random, not funny, conversation. They need to learn to agree (yes, and) and move the story forward not bicker with each other. Such a waste of time on my birthday.Props to coffee underground for trying to make something else out of this space. The lady at the checkin was nice. Maybe the comedy sketches are better but the improv was terrible.

Mediocre comedy. Hard to understand sometimes but comedians try hard to include everyone. $10 entrance is worth it. Lots of steps down into venue.
