Me and my mother had a great time coming, although it was pouring. The aquarium is very big and has lots of different fish, animals that live an aquatic lifestyle (like penguins), etc. Didnt see many animals in the zoo area because of the rain, but we still had a good time.

This was our first visit to this Science Center. It was very well laid out. There are varying displays and things to see and do. We were a little bummed out that so many interactive exhibits were closed, but we still had a great time anyway. We made reservations to go to secure a spot. The Meerkat Cafe has a really easy menu with variety. The staff was super helpful and friendly.

This place is a gem! Even with current covid limitations they have a great zoo and aquarium. The enclosures and aquariums are well maintained, the animals and fish look healthy (other than a few with old injuries, but I assume thats why they are being cared for in a zoo). Im looking forward to seeing their expanding in 2021. I just wish they had more of a parrot sanctuary!

So much fun, we got a year pass a week before our son was born and used it at least 2 a month, so it was well worth it! It was a nice place to walk around when family came to visit, and as he got older he loved seeing the fish from his stroller. He is now almost 2 and we get to enjoy so much of the space, as well as friends with older kids coming with and having a blast too!

I know what you may be thinking, how can the local science center of a city that is not a tourist destination be all that good? I am here to tell you that the Greensboro Science Center (GSC) is a great place ECPESSIALLY if you are an animal lover. Don’t believe me? Read on to see what the GSC has to offer. The Greensboro Science Center is the best attraction (In my opinion) in Greensboro and one of the best in North Carolina!!! It is an AAM (American Alliance of Museums) accredited museum as well as an AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) zoo and aquarium. There are several endangered species at the GSC. You can find, Sumatran Tigers, Fishing Cats, Red Pandas, Ring-Tailed and Red Ruffed Lemurs, Asian Small-Clawed Otters, and Javen Gibbons (One of only 3 AZA accredited zoos in the country) among others. The aquarium features African Penguins, a Giant Pacific Octopus, and Stingray touch tank, Sharks, and a lot other aquatic life. In the zoo, you may find the Tigers, Gibbons, and Red Pandas, along with Meerkats, Crocodiles, Aldabra Tortoises, and a cool little petting zoo where you can see many different kinds of farm animals like Sheep, Goats, and Alpaca. There is also Sky Wild, a obstacle course in the trees above the zoo where you can ride zip lines and defeat obstacles. This costs extra, but it is SOOO worth it. The museum has TONS of cool animals and exhibits. The Dinosaur exhibit is the best!!! I highly recommend this place to EVERYONE!!!! Also the zoo is getting an expansion!! This expansion ( set to open spring 2021) will feature Cassowaries, Okapi, Pygmy Hippos, Kookaburras, Servals, Black-Footed Cats, Sand Cats, Flamingos, and new habitats for the Red Pandas and Fishing Cats.

Went for the light show. Was a little disappointed that there wasnt more to it, considering the ticket price. The hot cocoa wasnt hot. 8:30 and the vender had run out of cotton candy. Wouldve been better with a couple more activity areas and maybe a petting zoo. The movie on the barn left more to be desired. The lights were nice to look at. The apple cider was hot. The fire pits were nice. Enjoyed making the smores (at an extra cost, of course.) The carousel ride at the end was fun

Visited right before Thanksgiving with my fiance and a couple of kids we mentor and had an absolutely splendid visit. It was a warm autumn day so I cannot speak for visiting on a hot or cold day. The Covid precautions were great and although we couldnt pet the rays we were happy safety came before anything else in the establishment. (We could pet the barn animals when they were close to the fence)After visiting the glorious aquarium area then proceeding to the awesome zoo it was really heartwarming when telling the kids we were going downstairs to hear them say theres EVEN MORE?! but considering the bottom floor is mainly taxidermy and herpatology I would maybe advise visiting it first since it could be the least exciting part of the tour BUT thats just depending on what youre into. The food was what you expect from this sort of attraction as well as the gift shop, nothing special but nothing bad.Im a fan of old fashioned pressed pennies which they had multiple machines to do so along with a couple of other machines to show examples of extreme weather which the kids had LOTS of giggles in, bring a few extra dollar bills for them although they do take cardsTheres also chickens and two peacocks (one is albino!) roaming free on the property which gives a great education opportunity for how to treat animals hands-on and one of their lemurs is missing a leg which gave a great time to teach about how some animals/people may be different or disabled but are still just as capable as the rest of us!Most of the animals were displayed on the website so I got to read up on facts about each animal and make the kids think I was a genius telling them facts that werent onthe placards so thank you for that GSC ;)Overall it was a great place to go, a great visit, very good price, and I cant wait to take more kids or even just myself in the future!

As a member, it was great to get back into the museum today! The positives were: LOVE the limited number of people. The animals were very engaging today. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The negatives: the hands on stuff is all closed. All the touch screens are off. I understand the purpose; however, it only took us about 90 minutes to cover every exhibit. A lot of the information is not available since it is on a touch screen so we didnt know what some things even were. Maybe some temporary signs could be put up? Cant wait to go back when we can touch and climb and play. It was still great to spend time with the animals in a very uncrowded setting. The tigers were amazing today!

We did not go into the theater, shows or do the sky wild course. My kids (4 y/o and 1 y/o) love to do interactive activities so the circuits and gears exhibit was right up their alley. Amazing museum, so many activities to choose from: zoo, aquarium, omni theatre, rotating exhibits, an obstacle tree course. I was really impressed by how modern the aquarium was. Touch screen interactive exhibits, hologram fish, things like that. Penguin feedings were delightful. They also have a mantis shrimp, for those who know about those crazy creatures. It think its really cool how you can interact with a penguin (for an extra fee), thats something Ive never seen offered anywhere else. And for a general admission of $15, its a great deal. I spend about 3 hours just in the aquarium, there is just that much to see.Edit: went a second time, got to see the zoo for the first time and the penguin encounter. Zoo is really something. Highlights are the petting area, the free roaming chickens, the peacocks, the gibbons and the turtles. You get a lot closer to some of the animals than in other zoos.Penguin encounter is pricey at $45 per person, but you do get about 15-20 minutes of petting/playing with the penguins, which is a really unique and fun experience.
