The Green River provides a beautiful centerpiece to this refuge, accented by colorful rock formations in some places and lots of wildlife habitat. Quiet, peaceful, and nice camping in nearby Weeping Rock campground. Wish I could have spent more time exploring!

I loved the remoteness of this place. And the accessibility of the river. We kayaked and had a beautiful time.

Weve float fished the Green River from Fontenelle Dam down through the refuge. The fishing is incredible. Big trout and lots of them. Loads of fun. The scenery is way cool. Moose, otters, pelicans and one day at lunch, a special view of mama and poppa eagle with an eaglet in the nest. Really neat!

Very nice wildlife refuge. We came hoping to spot a moose, but were unsuccessful. We did however see tons of pronghorn, a wide variety of birds and one lone sheep who was very cute and curious of us. We will be back to continue our moose search!

Its such a beautiful place to reconnect with nature. The peaceful area is a little piece of heaven on earth. Animals big and small are amazing sights to behold. Its a great place to educate children on a variety of plants, wildlife and water safety. Its also a great place for an afternoon family adventure.

Really unique area. A bit off the beaten path with lots of gravel road access. A topo map with GPS helps. There is lots of wildlife to see and good early Spring and late Fall fishing in the Green River that runs through it.

Nice viewing center to scope chicks from the deck, baby bird chicks . Amazing birds of all kinds. Plenty of sighting scopes set up on some points of interest like bird nests. It was a great spot to unwind a little and take a break on a drive through mostly deserted Wyoming hills.

Beautiful. Peaceful. Roads getting to the water are outrageously bumpy, so drive slowly, but its worth it.

Typically run federal facility. Twisting roads for no reason other than to satisfy the beauracratic mind. Fishing was less than spectacular. Clearly the huge flock of pelicans camped out on the sandbars were making a living. Excellent bird watching in a rare riparian area. I lost count of the number of species I saw.

This is a truly amazing place to go see. You can see all the critters like antelope, Wild Horses grazing and mule deer that just look at you as if you were one of them. Time is transcended to a time before these modern days. This is a very amazing place to sight see. Although there appears to be no visitor center, the roads through the refuge are well marked.

Largely sage covered land along the river. Very nice wheelchair accessible paved path to the spot where one of the important float ferries was built and used by pioneers to cross the swollen river. You can still walk in their trail tracks.

I enjoy this place. Probably not for everyone. River in the desert. I float the river, walk the banks, enjoy the wildlife. Drive by would be boring.
