Very beautiful park and it is dog friendly! Definitely a great place to walk and take pictures. Just be careful of snakes. We did have a garter snake (well, it looked like one it definitely wasnt venomous) laying across the path when we went. There are signs that say to watch out for rattlesnakes so just be careful ^-^

Absolutely Gorgeous! Such clear water surfacing in such massive quantities. Flowing into the river 200 feet later. WOW. And then - fantastic state park, a fish hatchery - with tours, extensive Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Plan on as much time as you can. So much to do and see. (They have restrooms too.)

This is by far the best park in great falls and has a lot of good history posted around the park. There is a very clear natural spring, a playground for the kids, lots of barbecues and picnic areas. Just dont leave a mess like some of the tourists do.. throw your trash away and keep this place looking nice.

I normally love going on walks by the river but yesterday evening was so miserable with the amount of flying bugs there were! I have never experienced so many bugs in my life. We were getting swarmed so bad we could not enjoy our walk and decided to turn back early. We need more bats in GF! I give 4 stars because of this, but the park is usually a lovely spot.

Hatchery is nice, clear springs, paved walk away that goes a mile towards to falls but not up to them. Considering how beautiful Montana is, this is ok but well kept up. I would actually give it 3.5 stars if I could.

These falls are located in Great Springs, Montana which shoukd be more accurately named Mediocre Springs, Montana. There is only one that you can get even reasonably close to. 3 of them are backdropped by large dams. I understand the necessity for them but they take away from the beauty of the waterfalls. There is, however, a very nice paved bike/walking path. It appears to go for quite some distance. We didnt have our bike so Im not sure.

A very nice park to spend the day, the restrooms and parking lot are very clean, the ranger at the entrance was very nice and super helpful, we are not from around here so she gave us a lot of tips of what to do and where to go; also if you are not from Montana you have to pay a very small fee, which is worth because the park is pretty. If you dont feel like walking you can always drive along the Missouri river and stop at one of the several view points to admire the scenery. Ive been here on summer and spring and I think its better to visit on summer, when everything is green and youll have clear skies

This is a really neat falls and park. Black Eagle Dam is a hydroelectric gravity weir dam located on the Missouri River in the city of Great Falls, Montana. The first dam on the site, built and opened in 1890, was a timber-and-rock crib dam. This structure was the first hydroelectric dam built in Montana and the first built on the Missouri River. The dam helped give the city of Great Falls the nickname The Electric City. A second dam, built of concrete in 1926 and opened in 1927, replaced the first dam, which was not removed and lies submerged in the reservoir. Almost unchanged since 1926, the dam is 782 feet (238 m) long and 34.5 feet (10.5 m) high, and its powerhouse contains three turbines capable of generating seven megawatts (MW) of power each. The maximum power output of the dam is 18 MW. Montana Power Company built the second dam, PPL Corporation purchased it in 1997 and sold it to NorthWestern Corporation in 2014. The reservoir behind the dam has no official name, but was called the Long Pool for many years. The reservoir is about 2 miles (3.2 km) long, and has a storage capacity of 1,710 acre feet (2,110,000 m3) to 1,820 acre feet (2,240,000 m3) of water.

My favorite spot in town. Great place to connect with nature. The natural springs are beautiful all year round and they have a fun little walking bridge over them. I take all our out of town visitors here. Photo Ops for sure. Feed trout at the hatchery, the machine takes quarters. Theres animal life if you keep your eyes out. Deer, various raptors, pelicans. Fishing spots here. Lots of hiking and mountain biking trails. Sledding in the winter. Lots of paths to explore with nice views. Picnic tables and bathrooms add some convenience.
