Typically theres an entrance fee, but its been no cost to the public right now as the downstairs is currently shut down (because it holds federal artifacts?). We were the only patrons in the center and Jeff was able to answer all our questions; he is just a wealth of knowledge.

Most was closed due to covid19 but the trails are nice and it looks like it would be a really good place to visit. It is very reasonably priced at 5.00, and they take a wide variety of interagency park passes like the national parks pass. I hope to visit again some time when they are fully open. They are letting everyone ed in free now because of the closure of most exhibits.

This interpretive center is one of the best in the United States. Be sure to see all the exhibits and the outdoors areas. If you’re a history buff you will be able to spend a lot of time here.

Taking a trip from Southern Alberta to Montana to do a little shopping, we hadnt expected to do anything touristy in this small place. However, stopping at the visitor centre we learned of the L&C IC. I was very impressed with the presentation and everything we learned there.I highly recommend a visit. Plus it is also great to take the time to see all the waterfall locations, some of them are remote drives but with the untouched landscape it gives you a better idea of what L&C had to endure.

It was a very informative and designed presentation. The building and the outside entrance areas are very unfriendly to the elderly and disabled. I used a walker yesterday and the entrance into the area is rough and uneven. The rugs as you enter the building bunched up under the wheels of my walker almost causing me to trip. There are two benches outside by the entrance that are very uncomfortable to sit on as they have almost a marble kind of material. They are also very close to the ground making it hard to get up and to sit down. After taking the elevator to their theater area it was scary how steep the stairs and seating is. Once you get the seat folded down it is a drop to sit down. In walking Lewis and Clarks trail there are NO handails and benches to rest are few and far between. It is my opinion that this building needs to be more ADA friendly.

Loved the layout of going through the Lewis and Clark expedition timeline. I was able to point out a display and then remind kids of when we drove through that particular area on the L&C trail. It made it more real and memorable. The view of the Columbia River was awesome! Oh, and we LOVED walking around the outside looking at the plants and reading all the tags.

This is a great place to visit and learn about the Lewis & Clark Expedition. There are lots of visual displays and authentic exhibits to look at. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well. I very much enjoyed the historical displays and the exhibits while my kids favorite thing was Buddy the Newfoundland (representing Meriweather Lewiss dog Seaman) there to greet all the museum visitors.

Very well done with lots of information about the Lewis and Clark expedition in a fun and educational way. After entering the museum on the upper level you go downstairs and go through a path explaining the journey, there are different dioramas and interactive displays. There are also 2 videos that play at different times during the day. After going through the museum we went outside to the pathways along the river and stopped at the gift shop on the way out. The gift shop was small but had a variety of items and books. There is a stamp for the National Parks stamp books if you are collecting them on a shelf in the gift shop.
