Great small museum run by volunteers. Here you can learn how airplanes used to navigate across the country. Steve (museum volunteer) took his time to explain everything in great detail. We spent 45 minutes there but I would have liked to have spent twice that time. Its an easy few minutes off I-40. Worth it to stretch your legs and use the bathroom. As of this writing (April 2019) guided tours are only on Saturday from 9am-1pm. Self guided tours are available 24/7. Im pretty sure you could schedule a guided tour with prior coordination outside of the Saturday. This is a FREE museum but there is a small donation cash box to help keep the lights on if you can afford it. I would guide questions to the FBO which is adjacent to the museum................One individual said something about roadtrippers giving bad directions ummm... This is Google maps and were talking about this museum. Ive never heard of roadtrippers and Im sure very few people have as well. Im not sure why such a low rating was given because of an outside website giving bad directions. I used Google maps to get here and it worked just fine.

Roadtrippers definitely doesnt give the correct directions. Its right at the airport so just Google maps that location. Overall it well put together for being a small operation and site. Unless you are seeking out this specific aviation history or want a 5 minute stop right off a route you are driving it could be a disappointing stop based on expectations.

Very cool place lot mire to do than expected.

As a geographer and one who knows about the arrows across America from the Transcontinental mail runs in the 1920s and 30s, I was thrilled to come by to see this fantastic exhibit.the museum is open on Saturdays but its still worth a trip to see the outside exhibit and arrow with the beacon.
