Wild West history museum. They had a wide selection of memorabilia. The museum is not very big so it’s easy to go with children. They had a 15 minute video on loop and prices were reasonable. The view is nice from the top of lookout mountain. This was a fun family outing even with toddlers in tow.

Wild West HistoryI had the chance to visit Buffalo Bils Grave and Museum during a trip to the Golden area. Always a fan of the Wild West, getting a chance to visit this place was just great timing. I was heading up the Lookout Mountain Park to hike and hang out and discovered that Buffalo Bills Grave and Museum is there too. What better place for a final resting place than on that perfect spot on the mountian. The Museum is a really great spot to check out and it is full of history and interesting facts about Buffalo Bill and the West and the area in general. There is a film you can watch, some interesting and interactive activities and many, many relics of the past. Just a short review here as I put the camera away so I could truly just enjoy the exhibits and history.

Buffalo Bill museum is right off the Lookout Mountain east overlook and parking lot. Museum is small, cheap ($5/person, I think), well lit, informative, western and wonderfully hoaky. We were too late to see the movie but loved the museum. There were huge, colorful portraits of Bill, show bills, guns, bullets, clothing, saddles, gold spurs, stuffed buffalo and other Bill memorabilia. Wonderful Lookout Mountain views. Restaurant a short walk from museum, also off the Lookout Mountain overlook parking lot.

Fantastic. A must-see for out-of-towners & locals alike! Huge gift store too! Absolutely gorgeous view - better than an airplane. No wonder Buffalo Bill Cody wanted to be buried on Lookout Mtn!

Neat museum with interesting exhibits on the life and times of William Buffalo Bill Cody. Were only vaguely familiar with his story so coming here really provided us a great learning opportunity. While he was known mainly for his Wild West shows, it was especially inspiring to see his advocacy for civil rights and womens equality, and how he went from fighting the American Indians to being a vocal ally. He also made sure they were properly represented in his shows. The museum is small enough that a visit should not last more than an hour. Be sure to visit Buffalo Bills grave, just a short 10-minute walk from this museum.

Nice spot to visit. Interesting history and the staff at the shop were very knowledgeable. We didnt visit the museum on this trip but will return again. Unfortunately it was a very foggy morning and didnt get to see much of a view from Lookout Mountain.

Fun little museum. I wouldnt say it is the most amazing in the world, but I would say it is still worth a pop in. I wouldve liked it to be a little bigger with more exhibits and information on Buffulo Bills life; e.g., how he found his showmates, specific quotes on his political positions, and/or more about his show. However, I understand some of the omissions as this is a Buffulo Bill museum and not a Everything that ever happened in his friends and/or Americas life museum.Side-note: I enjoyed seeing these suspicious quotemarks on the fudge sign.

Beautiful area and nice views from Lookout mountain. The museum itself has lots of original artifacts from the time period and his traveling show. I went on this as part of a larger tour and it was fine. However, unless you are a huge Buffalo Bill fan or driving close by I wouldnt go out of my way to visit it. I spent an hour there and it could be done in 30 minutes.
