This was a beautiful hike. There are I believe 5 different trails you can take. We did the Beaver trail. It was more strenuous than I thought it would be but great exercise! Took about 50 minutes and it was 2.3 miles. The longest trail is 3 miles. Also, there was actually a person blowing leaves off the trail! That was awesome.
Well maintained and marked trails. Interesting hike. Moderately challenging in parts. Little late for colors. Expect it to be gorgeous in spring.
Highly recommended for everyone, all ages. The preserve is lovely, well maintained, and family friendly. The hiking trails are accessible to almost anyone. You could easily visit the Nature Preserve daily or make it your once in a lifetime tourist attraction. Fantastic outdoor activity that satisfies the eye.
One of my favorites!! Have hiked this numerous times. I would recommend beaver trail.
Great place to go if you love good views and the outdoors. Many hiking trails , also is kid friendly.
Very nice, well marked trails. The hilly Deer trail gives you a good workout. Be advised the lodge and restrooms are locked.
We did the Beaver Trail. A pleasant route that presented a few intermittent challenges - and which allows for a slightly squidgy and slippery detour the main waterfall. Well be back for sure.
Very beautiful nature trails. Very easy trails for beginners and seniors. Only 10 miles from me and never knew it was there. Glade we chosen this one today.
Great park, well maintained and with beautiful shaded trails. The direction (signs) in the park are perfectly placed and are making sure youll always be on the right path. I highly recommend!!!
Really nice place to go for a great View of the river from the Bluffs.
Kids wanted to explore and were a little apprehensive about staying on a path. By the end of our hike they were ready to come back. Hidden treasure in the Riverbend area.
Shortest trail (Frog trail) is a nice short walk through the forest with youngsters. We saw deer tracks multiple times, but unfortunately no deer...maybe next time.
It was very over grown with weeds could not really enjoy it. However its a great walk on the river road
Favorite place to go for a hike. Beautiful!
No idea. Didnt want the rona from all the nonmask wearing MFs up in this piece
Well marked trails, well maintained, beautiful views of the Mississippi!
Deer trail. Nice path.
No notice online that it was closed from Dec to March 31. Drove all the way there (about 45min) to get to a wooden sign saying the trails were closed. So disappointed. It would be great it they update their online presence to reflect their closure polices.
What a great little stop on the Sam Vadalabene Bike Trail with a cool monument!
Good trails. Mostly shaded.
I absolutely LOVE coming to this little hidden treasure in the middle of town!!!
Gorgeous hike along the river so pretty
Absolutely A beautiful place to hike
Quiet place with very nice trails. They form nice loops making it easy to just walk around. Good amount of variance in landscape.
Wonderful views and great trails!
Drive an hour to get here. Trails closed. Please note this online and Google maps
Great hiking with several different trail lengths that were not easy but also not too difficult. There is an underground railroad entrance and monument along one of the paths--very cool to see. No bathroom at this preserve, though!
Very pretty shaded trail.Well maintained.Lovely hike.
Amazing hikes. Trail is currently closed due to water, but you can easily get around it.I would actually recommend going right now, the water is actually more beautiful than normal around the falls area.
This place is unbelievable. I had the place to myself because of the day and season I went. But I enjoyed my hike tremendously. Its a must go for any age and any hiking skill level. You are not allowed to take wheelchairs however since the terrain is uneven and often to hard for the wheelchair to easily go in and out.
Nice place for walks
Beautiful scenery!
Wild turkeys, rabbits, prairie dogs, deer, blue birds & indigo buntings were just a few things I experienced on my last trip.
Great place for learning, for young and old. The volunteers make it an even better experience. Great trails and history.
Love TNI for local hiking. We got married here over the bluffs and it was gorgeous.
Beautiful trail with wonderful scenery, but Im not sure we ever found the lookout point. We also got lost (not too lost just unsure of which trail to take) due to scarce trailmarkers. Optional water crossings, bridged water crossings, elevation, nice views. Would definitely recommend
Treated us well and it was a fun and relaxing time. Do recommend to be prepared for long hikes and uneven trails
Great for walks
Lovely trails and site
One of the most beautiful prairie grassland in the area
Beautiful and I would love to go back
Part of the Nature Institute this is a great preserve located close to St. Louis and easily accessible nearby to Alton, IL. The trails are extremely well marked and easy to negotiate. Some hilly sections but definitely family friendly.
Great place to hike. Trails are marked well. Best time to go is after a rain, you will be able to see the waterfalls.
Beautiful park. Challenging hike and trails could be marked better but great place to almost get lost.
Beautiful place not a fan of the maps or trail marking although will try again would love to see the falls
Awesome trails!
Beautiful hike. Saw a herd (?) of deer.
Gotta get outdoors, no better place than the reserves!
Beautiful total going to revisit with all the kids. Absolute must see.
Really nice place to go.
This place is awesome, its a crying shame that there are not some primitive camp sites here!! There is a really cool playground, clean bathrooms, firepit, in addition to all the awesomeness in the woods.
Cool place, be prepared for some hefty hiking.
Interesting rock patterns
Always hike here gorgeous and well preserved
Sucks
Nice park, lots of open space and very nice landscaping.
