We chose Lockhaven as our wedding venue and were extremely happy with our choice. As you can see in one of the photos, our wedding was during the (first) flood. Lockhaven was only open for 3 days before our wedding and they worked tirelessly to make sure everything was cleaned and accessible for our guests. We were very lucky to have our wedding there as the water quickly rose above accessibility levels the weekend following. Most venues are very strict with rules as to decorating and everything else, but Lockhaven was very accommodating to our specific wants and needs, and helped with everything we needed. Scott Schaefer made sure everything was done without question. If you are looking for a venue that is beautiful, trustworthy, and accommodating so your big day can go as smoothly as possible without worrying Lockhaven is the place!

Started first with a four man group. Moved as quickly as we could, ensured people behind us were fine but still were harassed by the ranger Jeff 6 times. We finished under 4 hours!!!! Seriously! This guy has a bad attitude and need service training. Overpriced to be treated like this. Definitely do NOT recommend

The old adage you get what you pay for holds true here. I am really surprised by all of the other reviews praising the layout. I felt it was a pretty boring layout with no real memorable holes. A few of the tee boxes had almost no grass. Several of the fairways had areas of dirt. #18 was especially bad with the middle of the fairway where a typical drive would land being completely burned out and a fairway bunker that was just a hard pan wasteland with no sand.On a positive note the greens were in mostly good shape and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. This is not meant to bash the course. I know that they working to get it back in shape, but feel if someone is going to drive all that way they should have a fair understanding.of what they are going to get.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! If you aren’t an even par player don’t waste your time. They stack the tee times to get as many people on the course at one time. The ranger approached and harassed us 5 different times to keep place of play. We were a foursome and were scrambling. We finish our first 9 holes in 1:45 minutes and finished 18 holes in under 4 hours. When we asked manager at the course what the average pace of play was he told me 3:30 minutes, which is insane for being one of the toughest and longest courses in the area. I will not be back to this course. They charged $50 for a Saturday tee time and took all the enjoyment out of the game and ruined our round.

I was a member at Lockhaven when it was a country club and am a member currently as a golf club. They have a really great and challenging golf course, a very beautiful facility and best of all a friendly and accommodating staff. In particular I would like to highlight Rob. Rob is always friendly, courteous and more than willing to assist whatever your needs may be. Good people is the key with any business and Rob is certainly a great person for Lockhaven. He is 5 stars!

Golfed there last weekend for the first time, really enjoyed it. Course conditions were good and customer service was awesome; Rob at the pro shop was very welcoming and did a great job showing me around. Value was fantastic, I will be back!

Great golf course, even better drink prices. The course is in great shape (June 2020). Friendly staff. Rob and the rest of the staff will take care of you! Definitely worth the drive from St Louis!

I recently had my wedding here and was disappointed. From the time I signed the contract until my wedding day (8.5 months) the lead contact changed three times. These changes were not communicated untill I contacted them to the point they got annoyed and finally responded. They were very hard to communicate with and it was a very stressful experience (with or without COVID). We also experienced a lot of information changes. We were told one thing and then two weeks later it was completely different.I would not reccomend this wedding venue to anyone, especially with the increase in the prices they just put into place.

One of the best courses in the area that is not private. Very challenging. Highly recommend it.

Great player friendly course. Love the mature trees and the topography of this place. Was in great shape considering all the spring rains. This golf course is a keeper.

We played 4 25 dollar courses on our golf trip this one us by far the worst, fairways were dormant from lack of water and the greens were like velcro slow ,dont waste your money here, people were not friendly either, not rude just like you were inconveniencing them, oh well

Rob is always very helpful and knowledgeable about what is going on in the clubhouse and on the course.

My husband and I had originally wanted an outdoor wedding reception but as I figured up all the Costa associated with that I realized that it would make our reception very expensive. We had planned on getting married at m church, St. Marys in Alton, and one of the priests started naming off places right in the city. I did my research and visited one aND found that the prices were pretty high and the places didnt offer any outdoor space other than a sidewalk. Then, it hit me and I remembered going to both of my high school proms at Lockhaven Golf Club and the awesome patio off of the ballroom. After looking into it and visiting I knew that Lockhaven would be the best option. Plus, its very affordable too! We got married on a Friday and the rental price was $500 cheaper than if we had it on a Saturday. Scott, sorry I originally got his name wrong for some reason, the golf pro there, told me from the beginning that wed be able to use some golf carts to go take pictures on the course. I was thrilled because it is a very picturesque golf course! On our wedding day, we went and decorated in the morning. There wasnt much to do because they provide table linens and arrange the tables, so we added our table runners and centerpieces and the memory table pictures and were done. Our wedding was September 20th, and the ceremony was at 5:30pm and we did the standard after ceremony pictures in the church. When we got to Lockhaven, we were running out of daylight but we got a couple of carts for my husband and I and the photographer and went to take a few pictures. We didnt have time to try to wrangle all the wedding party too. The reception was amazing and Chef Bobs Catering was awesome! I asked the workers to make my husband and I to-go boxes for after the reception and they did! Our guests raved about the food and the venue! Everyone was so very accommodating! While my husband and I were on our honeymoon the next week, we decided to splurge on post wedding photos and scheduled them at Lockhaven. Again, they were extremely accommodating and let us use golf carts to go get more pictures of the two of us. They even had another reception going on that evening. Both times we were out there everyone was very nice and we were treated as though we were family. It was a truly wonderful place to have our reception and get some amazing photos! I highly recommend Lockhaven as the best venue in the area!

Great Course ! Great Staff ! Its your own country club for the day. Thats the way they make you feel. They constantly improving things every time we visit.

This a really strong golf course. I was surprised by the quality for the price point! I highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a well-manicured, top-notch challenge that is coupled with beautiful terrain and a helpful staff. Plus, when youre exhausted from playing all day, Fast Eddies is only 15 minutes away.

Course was in great shape compared to prior years but waited for minutes on every shot. 5 hour round took the fun out. There was a Marshall but didnt see him until 18th hole.
