Always a peaceful walk through the preserve - the animals are beautiful and the staff is very educational! Great place for young families with children just beginning with hands-on learning in nature :)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I wasnt able to walk around or interact with the staff. Despite this, I did speak with one woman in charge who seemed to be running the whole place by herself during this pandemic, and she seemed very hard working and knowledgeable.

Thank you for all the good you do! Your staff are clearly dedicated and in it for the animals. The animals in your care are so lucky! They were clearly happy and treated so well. They displayed many natural behaviors that you wanna see in captive animals- especially wild born ones. Bravo!

Please don’t go to this place. They don’t give animals with small injuries a chance to live. I went there yesterday with an injured small bunny that we rescued a week ago so they can fix his hind leg. But when we call today, they told my husband they have to euthanize him. I don’t know why. He was healthy and happy except for the foot. He could walk and hop . He was eating fine. I’m so sad, I feel that it’s my fault send him there. );

I brought a beautiful Kingfisher there he had injured his wing but was moving around and very alert , I thought they were going to help him I called and they euthanized him right after I Brought him there,if I had known this I would of brought him home and tried to find another place or helped him myself. This place his misleading they won’t help injured animals, very disappointed.

To anyone who is thinking about being their animals here, please never go here. Recently I found an injured mourning dove on the ground. I took it in, fed it and gave it water. The bird seemed to do well the next morning but I decided to take it over to willow brook to get the proper care. This was a HUGE mistake, not even 24hrs later I got a call from them saying they have euthanized the bird. They did not even give the bird a chance but euthanized it right away. I believe the bird could’ve been rescued with the proper care since he was doing better the next morning but they did not even try or give him a chance and this really disappoints me, they euthanized a poor animal just to cut down on medical costs. Never again in my life will I ever bring an animal to Willowbrook, they have no clue how to care for animals.

This place is in a beautiful forest and its peaceful and green. It made me think about the interface between wildlife and humans and how treacherous our roads and vehicles and pets are for these animals. This place is obviously serious about helping the animals that are victims of accidents and it was cool to see that they have an emergency room. And looking into the eyes of owls, hawks, and bobcats is always an awe inspiring experience. Loved it

We absolutely adore coming into this place! It is a wonder of our favorite nature centers. I love having the opportunity to see birds up close. The new edition of the raptor center will be fantastic.We have also had the chance to bring a duck that had a broken wing to Willowbrook and they took care of it and re-released it to the wild.

I rescued a young bird and called them for help and they told me to put it in a makeshift nest near the original nest as we couldn’t access it. They told us to leave him there and not feed him as the mom would do so when she heard his chirping. They insisted we leave him alone. We did and he died last night all alone.

Great place. I found an orphaned raccoon in the middle of the road and brought him to them. They checked him out and placed him in a foster home to be able to return him to the wild. They were very courteous and explained everything.

What a neat place to share animals and birds with children and others. As a working rehabilitation center for wild animals, the volume of typical and non typical wildlife amazes us. If you go, look at their website for donations needed or at the very least open your wallet to help keep them supplied. Always said its cheap for being like a mini zoo and care center in one.

Brough an abandoned squirrel to them this morning and they were very kind. The girl who helped me at the counter was very knowledgeable and sweet. They took “jack” into the back and evaluated him. When they came back she let me know because he was so small and young he really needed around the clock care so they recommended Fox Valley Wildlife center in Elburn so help care for him. Before giving him back so that I could get him to the other treatment center they were sweet by cleaning him off since he had a flea and fly egg problem. They were very kind and helpful. And I’m glad they recommended another place who could help instead of just giving up on him.It’s great there’s help out there for these animals and it’s great that these facilities will work together to take in animals if another one is too full or can’t care for an animal like the other one could.

Weve been watching a Cardinal nest in a tree next to our driveway for a few weeks. The nest and 5 tiny babies fell out this morning. The directions through the Willowbrook Wildlife message center were detailed, clear and easy to follow, with respect to what to do to try to save the birds. It has been about 3 hours, fingers crossed, but 5 babies and parents are back in the tree, and appear to be recovered from this mornings mayhem. Great instructions and thanks to Willowbrook!

These people are pure evil. We had rescued a bunny and I had raised it for 3 weeks. One morning we noticed it was limping and we had no idea why. So we saw that this place could take it and they were an amazing place. So we brought it there. The whole way home I cried because I was worried about him and I had raised him so he was like my baby. The next day we called to see if he was okay. They told us that when they X-rayed him the brake was too bad. THEY DIDNT EVEN TRY. He was super healthy and fat. He was also a very happy little bunny and Instead of trying to fix it they just euthanized him. I am very heart broken because I raised and cared for that bunny for 3 weeks and they didn’t even give him a day before giving up.

This wildlife center has taken in rescued animals from me and friends...with great results...specifically, a baby squirrel found in the neighbors garage, 2 baby ducklings whose mother was found dead, injured birds...and when released you will receive a notice that the animal is returned to nature. Only creatures unable to fend for themselves are kept in the center. Children love it! Schools love to bring the children to the exhibits. Great place...been there forever! As far as a previous old post about the facility, I find it well managed and safe - otherwise Im sure the schools would have nothing to do with it.

I have been here any of times, & today I have to say I was very disappointed with the way one of the staff talked to our group. We were there on a field trip with special ed students who were have a good time looking at the animals. Its a outside place so kids should noy have to be totally quite. The staff member rudely yelled at the us to keep to keep our students quite so the the public people could hear him. Are we not public people!!! That was totally uncalled for.
