Loved the play last night. A Christmas Carol never disappoints. The acting was great. This venue is very intimate.COVID restrictions are in place. Only 36% capacity. Masks required at all times. Sanitation happens on all hand rails and touchable surfaces.My family and I will be back for sure. Thank you to all the actors and the behind the scenes people, great show!!!

We went to Daddy Long Legs last night at this venue. Beautiful venue. Loved the way the theatre was arranged with the seats surrounding the stage! The talent of the musicians and cast were amazing! We loved the play, music, venue, and story!! So, so good! We wore masks, seating was spaced, and they wiped handrails down. Cant wait to watch another play at the Hale theatre!

Christmas Carol was better than ever, a must see! The theater is doing a great job maintaining physical spacing, cleanliness, and overall dealing with Covid.

This is a smaller theater that does not have a classic stage where there is a real stage with sets & backdrops, an orchestra, and then seating. This is more of a basketball court with seating all the way around it with the play in the middle with small props constantly being wheeled back and forth. This frequently breaks the 4th wall for me unfortunately.While I do miss a real stage, what this theater lacks in facilities is more then made up for by the selection of plays and the actors & actresses who participate, which is first rate.If you want to have an excellent night out with your spouse or family for dinner & a show, this is a fine way to do so.

If youve been to other musicals, concerts, plays, dinner theaters, then you will be struck the moment you walk in at the small scale of the Hale Theater, which we LOVED. Not a bad seat in the place and every seat is close to the performance. The Hale has an intimate atmosphere which heightens the experience of the performance. But this is a review of not only the venue but also the show - A Christmas Carol. It was simply outstanding and seemed to be closer in professionalism, props, music, special effects to a big city venue than a small town production. And I HAVE to comment about the costumes - over the top. Ive been to enough low-budget theater where the costumes are a bit shabby, worn and tired. Not here. Obviously they poured a lot of money into costumes. Tickets are very pricey but based on all that Ive just said, it just makes sense. This is not a low budget production. Also, the cast of A Christmas Carol was surprisingly large. Management controls how and when late-comers are seated, which I love. It minimizes distractions and interference. No alcoholic beverages are served here because they strictly adhere to their family oriented philosophy. They do serve snacks and drinks. We have family flying in next month and have reserved seats for an upcoming performance. I highly recommend the Hale for a truly different theater experience.January 20. Attended another performance tonight - Always, Patsy Cline. Simply an outstanding production loaded with talent. Another fun time.

This is one of the best theaters Ive been to. I love how its smaller and feels more close with whats going on . I would definitely recommend it

The theater itself is great! The play itself 39 Steps we heard was really funny and great. Well I may have snickered a couple of times but it was actually fairly boring. My boyfriend fell asleep during the first half. It picked up a little during the second half. As a whole it was a snooze.

Love the experience of this intimate theater! Always impressed with the acting & singing talent, lots of great places to eat nearby! A wonderful night out!

What can I say? Amazing shows, a beautiful, remodeled building, and now, awesome classes! Hale is a invaluable contributor to the theatre community and to the downtown Gilbert scene. If you havent been to a show here, youve missed something special! I always wonder how theyre going to pull off a big Broadway show on an intimate stage in their theatre- in- the- round and Im always blown away by a fabulous production! Now theyve added dance classes taught by fantastic instructors in their new dance studio and we couldnt be more excited! Bravo!

I have held season tickets for over 5 years and have never been disappointed. If you want an enchanted evening with great actors and beautiful music this is the place.

The theater was clean & people were well spaced out. The show was just ok.

What can I say but the fact that this theatre is mind blowing! The phrase small but mighty is a perfect description of this theatre. Ive only gone twice but every visit has me excited to come back again. Its little but gives you the perfect experience of having your own personal viewing. Ive gone to see the Sister Act play. Those actors and actresses were amazing! This time around it was an Elvis Tribute. So if you are looking for quality entertainment, look into this theatre in Downtown Gilbert!

We love Hale. Weve been season ticket holders for almost two years now. Some of our favorites have been Newsies, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and most definitely Thr Christmas Carol. That has become a yearly tradition for us. Hale puts on quality productions and the cost is relatively low of you buy their 5+ show passes. I love the location-- right near the water tower in downtown Gilbert. Ive also found the customer service at Hale to be excellent when Ive needed to adjust my ticket reservations. The website online is also easy to use. I very much recommend this theater.

My review of: Hale Theatre in Gilbert. This small theatre packs a punch that leaves you breathless and feeling enchanted. You feel right as if you are a part of the show. Wall panels are changed out and painted to reflect the current production being performed. I saw the Little Mermaid the musical. Children were welcome to attend in costume. I saw more than one mermaid in the audience. A close up meet and greet with the cast follows afterwards in the lobby. Gigantic chocolate chip cookies can be purchased before and after the show.

Great theater in the round with very entertaining casts! The variety of musicals and plays is fantastic. There are talented actors and actresses and it is fun to see them in more than one show. The location in downtown Gilbert is wonderful with great restaurants within walking distance, and there is free parking right by the theatre.

A delightfully intimate theatre. It appears that the stage is intentionally small to allow for other areas of the house to provide for scene settings. As a member of the audience you may get the feeling youre a cast member because the set design is cleverly wrapped around you. Consistently showcasing great direction, acting, set design and all facets of production.

Expanding! A wonderful Community theater. A great place for a date or an afternoon out with friends. Old Town Gilbert is growing leaps and bounds.

What a great small professional the theater!. The theater in the round makes every seat in the theater a great seat. You can see all of the nuances of the actors faces and the beauty of the costumes up close and personal. The quality of the acting and the singing were superb. And the pricing was amazingcompared to all of the other places that we have looked around here. Would definitely recommend.

We have seen most of the shows at Hale Theatre since it first came to Gilbert. We have been pleased or thrilled, and have truly enjoyed going nearly once a month most years. It is amazing the variety of shows that can be preformed in this theatre with seats all the way around and so close to the stage we often feel part of it. High quality acting, scenery, costumes and singing.

Saw Guys & Dolls with family and we all thoroughly enjoyed the night out. The experience pleasantly surprised me. Though smallish, the theater is nice, but the real surprise was the quality of the performance. The acting, singing and dance numbers were all very good.

They spent there time and effort into the shows that they put on and each one is better then the last!

A great theater venue in an easy to access location in downtown Gilbert. It has an unique arena style feel and lively, talented actors.My wife, friends and I have enjoyed having a quick meal a short walk away and then taking in a show here after. It makes for a nice night out.

New to the area, we bought tickets to John Loves Mary last fall. We were so impressed that we bought a Flex Pass adding four more productions. Weve seen three of those four and have never been disappointed!

Beautiful restored venue. A theater in the round experience. Its 360 degree view to the stage in the center of the room. Actors use the entire theater including enter/exit via the aisles to the stage floor. Great sound and not a bad seat in the house. Beautifully restored in art deco style. Seats just under 400.This is a local performance theater. There is a season, and annual passes are available.If you get a chance, see a show here. Youll love it.

My husband and I adore the shows at the Hale Centre Theatre in downtown Gilbert! They are always done well and the time and talent put into every second shows through on each actors face. Season tickets are priced fairly at $24 per ticket and they have a fun selection of shows in their repertoire. Our two favorites so far have been, Meet Me in St. Louis and Annie.

Great shows, great acting, comfy seats (could possibly use more legroom, but its not bad). Absolutely stunning renovation, beautiful attention to detail.Great place to see a show.

We had a wonderful time their past New Years at the 4pm show of Barefoot In The Park! We laughed so hard and enjoyed every minute of it. We can hardly wait till we can go back there again.

Great local theater! Its a relatively small venue, which can be a really nice change of pace in the right shows. The stage is circular too, and they always utilize that in unique ways. The prices are fairly reasonably, and their team is always super talented. Would definitely recommend!

I really enjoy the Hale Theatre, in Gilbert. I just saw Always Patsy Cline...it was excellent. If you have not attended a show there...you should. It is a great intimate setting...probably not a bad seat in the venue.

H.C.T. is a great venue for some amazing local theater. I have come to shows here before, and todays performance of a newer musical, Bright Star, was pretty perfect. All of the cast members were talented and believable enough to take me on their journey but lead actress Heidi-Liz Johnson really touched me with her heartfelt performance. The theater is in the round and the performers move about so there really arent any bad seats. Check Hale out, and really try to see this production of Bright Star.

I absolutely adore this theater setup. Youre right with the performers. All of their expressions are visible and the experience is so memorable.

Hale Centre Theatre is a FANTASTIC, family-friendly theater. I have nothing but good things to say about them: Great shows, high-caliber, professional acting, and just a great atmosphere. Wonderful!

Absolutely loved this place. My wife and I went and saw A Christmas Carol with my in-laws for the second year in a row. I really like the renovations they have done over the last year, they have definitely brightened up the place and looks more like the res of downtown Gilbert...

Like the remodel. The play was good. I generally like musicals better than comedies but this one was great too!

Hale Theater is in downtown Gilbert right across from the water tower. The building is being expanded to include classrooms for acting, singing and dance - three of the talents used throughout the plays.The talent shows when the actors and actresses enter the stage. ( In the round so they must play to all 4 directions.)These people remember innumerable lines, many songs each performance, and a multitude of dances to go with each song. There are some actors who remind me of a young Dick Van Dyke with the flips and pratfalls. Others are reminiscent of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.If you enjoy plays and want an evening out that wont soon be forgotten, go to the Hale.

Really enjoyed the close proximity to the actors. Very well done and look forward to visiting again. The seats were rather close together but still room to sit comfortably for me.

I am so glad I bought tickets for John loves Mary, it was such a good play, actors were amazing, so much fun. I sure hope we will see them again. If you come to Gilbert this place is a must!

Very entertaining. I didnt know what to expect as this was my first time going to Hale Centre Theater - Arizona, but I was very impressed. The performers were high energy throughout the 2 and 1/2 hour performance, running up and down scaffolding , without sounding winded, which is pretty amazing. When you go to see something like this, its usually to get away and just have a good time. I had a great time .

We love seeing A Christmas Carol every year at Hale. The intimate theatre experience is well executed by actors with stage crew, lighting and special effects. Well worth the drive on the newly opened 202 section between east and west valley!

Hale has become a staple of our date nights. Each year we save a little by buying season tickets. Weve never had a single issue with will call, never a technical issue during the show, never a cancelation. The productions are always fully professional and the actors have always performed admirably or even outstandingly. We truly look forward to our Hale Theatre nights. I cannot recommend them strongly enough.

Gorgeous lobby/theater. The aesthetic hit you the second you saw the exterior and continued when you walked in; the theater itself was shakesperian style as in being 360 guaranteeing amazing views.

I love this place. Its in downtown Gilbert which is really close to where I live. They have great performances at extremely reasonable prices that blow Gammage out of the water. I cant wait until the expansions are done.

Very entertaining! The playhouse is currently under construction, but still operating. The staff is doing a good jobof navigating around the dust. All were very friendly and helpful. Pics of the updated final look are on display and look very nice. Ill definitely go back.

Absolutely amazing! I kept getting sucked into the play that it actually felt like it was real! (This coming from a millennial where nothing amazes us) and the actors were amazing, you could tell they love what they do with the energy they put into their acting. Absolutely amazing.

Ive been to this theater many times and each experience has been delightful. Great, quality actors and fun, creative sets. I dont think theres a bad seat in the house either. Also, I like that they keep the plays family friendly. Plus, my kids love meeting the characters in the lobby after each play.

This is a great circle theater. I enjoyed it because it is intimate and the circle stage keeps things interesting.

The only reason why I gave it four stars is because of the lack of leg room. Otherwise, the experience is completely enjoyable. I cant believe what this theater can do. Our latest play was singing in the rain. They actually had rain during singing in the rain number. Several audience members were hit with water. Even with the lack of leg room i would still go to enjoy a show. They have some really good talent appearing there. Its a perfect way to spend an evening, make sure to visit one of the local restaurants while your downtown. The Liberty Market is a slice of heaven.
