It was great to see a live show again. The artist enjoyed it also. The Grove is a nice open venue.

Ver nice venue. Aside from the fact that there isnt an aisle down the middle of the rows, which forces you to cross over a long row of people if you need to go to the restroom. Just be sure not to get tickets in the middle of the rows. Ive never seen a theater like this. Otherwise, its a very nice venue.

Top shelf entertainment venue. Excellent acoustics, beautiful hall, great variety of acts. They apparently have redone the restrooms that have the oddest stainless trough like sinks... otherwise a great venue.

Beautiful facility, absolutely hate that people are allowed to walk in in the middle of a performance, wait until there is a break, in between songs for example. At Least that is how they do it at the Orpheum and Bartlett Performing Arts.

Ma
Review №21

Nice for an Opera Memphis or theatrical performance night or day. Plenty of seating and lots of space between rows. We have been here many times and all the seats are great for seeing the stage and hearing the music. We love performances here!

Jo

It doesnt have the ancient allure that The Orpheum downtown has. That being said, I prefer GPAC. It is so much more comfortable, the restrooms are never crowded and I dont think there is a bad seat in the house.

GPAC has presented some pretty amazing shows. It is built in such a way that there are no bad seats. However, I think the center of rows K or L are the best. They present a diverse array of shows. Last year, I attendedthe Soweto Choir Concert and it was good.

Great performance hall, as someone who has performed three times here, the backstage area is nice, and there are couches and chairs that the performers can use back there. The accoustics are what you would expect for a professional concert hall. As someone who has heard a performance or two from the lower level of seats, the chairs are comfortable, but there arent enough a lot of the time.

Have been to several concerts, two of which have been the Christmas concerts. I have enjoyed every concert and plan to continue going to them in the future. I will be getting my tickets for the 2017 Christmas concert in the next week or so. I am totally looking forward to this event, as it puts everyone who attends in the holiday mood. It sure does that for me.

Note: my original review was written whilst in line for my first & only beverage to be had that night. I stand by my criticism, but do know that GPAC has radically upped their game re: concessions. Most recently one of the best concert concessions experiences Ive had & Im working on being old, so Ive had quite a number. Tip the staff & enjoy the wonderful stage & auditorium. Good acoustics, most seats are great even far back & high up and now, world class concessions.ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 2017: Jesus effing Christ, Im not sure if the concessions lines could be any longer. Theyd seriously sell a hell of a lot more if we didnt have to wait for an actual 47 min to get a bottle of water and a beer. The concessions dumpster fire wrapped in a cluster-f#@$ aside, I love pretty much every show Ive seen here. I like the acoustics and the seating. |:::| 2019-11-02 UPDATE: They had the concessions crank-a-lanking - we were in line for maybe, maybe 5 minutes. It was luxurious. |:::|2020-02-28 UPDATE: GPAC had cracked the code on selling as much as possible at concessions. Thank you. 4 lines & 3 minutes for a beer - Ive never seen so many Beckys so happy with white wine in hand & not demanding to speak with someones manager. 5 stars

The facility and most staff is quite nice and I have thoroughly enjoyed concerts like Jesse Cook & Tao Drum. The ticketing and will call systems are flawless and everything about the GPAC experience is terrific with one exception, for my last visit (this is the take off one star story) there were no signs or announcements that taking a non flash picture waa prohibited, however during the first half I had some just that and someone jogged up from behind and put their grubby paws on my shoulder and said something unintelligible. I took another shot during the second half and a very scowling woman came and literally stood right beside for nearly an hour waiting to.catch me in the act of taking another photo, and one point when I checked the time on my phone she actually leaned over me, seriously. Hey people, nothing better to do than annoy people, stand over them? Put up a friggin sign, make a friggin announcement but dont touch people and be rude, just sayin ... other than that love the GPAC.
