I really love to shoot sporting clays and what I really love about Back Woods Quail Club is that it doesnt matter if it is raining or not I can still shoot because every stand on one of their courses is covered and their carts are great! Beyond loving to shoot I like a course that is a bit of a challenge and presents a variety of different shots and Back Woods does exactly this. And what I also really like is that all of their launchers always seem to work. There is nothing more frustrating than tooling around a course only to half half of your birds fail to launch! The Club is well managed and all of the employees are nice and friendly.

Amazing place for the Sportsman. The ranges are excellent. The Sporting Clays are unparalleled. If you get a chance to eat a meal here it is just fantastic true Southern cuisine. The guides are great, and Ive never had a bad bird trip. We really enjoy everything this club has to offer. Its conveniently located not too far from Charleston. If youre just coming out to shoot the ranges, or spending a day, there is plenty to keep you busy and the entire operation is first class.

We had such a great time here! Clay course has plenty of diversity and we were only on the beginner one. 5 stand is very well done and Dave was a great instructor with all of us. Very patient especially with the ladies and his dry wit was much appreciated! Thank you and we’ll definitely be back with more friends!!

A great place for sporting clays, trap and skeet, but they only offer one type of membership. It’s $250 the first year and $200 to renew, which is expensive if you only use their rifle/pistol range.

I had the opportunity to stop by the club to shoot a round of sporting clays. It was a few days after the SC state shoot last October. I was very impressed with both the facility and the staff. It was a very quiet and beautiful day and the staff went out of their way to make us feel special. I will make this a regular stop when vacationing in the Grand Strand (which is annually). Widely varied target presentations with well thought out stations and courses. Even just after hosting a state shoot, the targets were interesting and fun to shoot. I highly recommend stopping by this club.

Shot two 100-round sporting clays. Excellent time spent there with family. Beautiful course, tough but fun shots using lifts, stands, and over water. I will definitely return next time Im in the low country. By far one of the top 3 courses Ive been to

Rick is a class act. Love his targets, love his demeanor, an all around asset to our sport. Lauren does a great keeping everything running and shes awesome to deal with in the office. You can bet if Rick set it, it will work and targets will be spot on.

The staff and owners of BWQC are outstanding in the hospitality department! The facilities are new, clean and upkeep is unmatched for your shooting sports needs. With a full retail store and comfortable clubhouse (and now - a newly constructed open air pavilion, complete with full kitchen, clean restrooms and TVs), bring your RV and stay the weekend! Had an absolutely great time there this past weekend and wanted to give a shout out to Rick Hemingway and his staff for graciously accommodating our large group (28 total) in such grand style!

This place is all about customer service. The guides are great and will work with you to get better. My girlfriend and I went on a quail hunt and she had shot skeet for the first time the day before. The guide helped us knock down quail and made the hunts fun. If you do a hunt I recommend you stay there, first because its a 20 min+ drive even from Georgetown sc. Most importantly because the excellent meals are cooked just for your group. The cabin we stayed in was very clean and had the fridge and bar stocked with all different types of beer and liquor and mixers. Each type of liquor had many choices to choose between. For example, The bourbon selection alone in the little cabin was jim, jack, and makers mark. Then there were several scotchs, vodkas, different beer etc. The 3 meals included with your stay topped all of that and you might leave a few lbs heavier but definitely not hungry.
