I stumbled upon this park by our coincidence and it was quite the pleasant surprise. Beautiful scenery and the trail that I walked was clean and clear.
The trail was beautiful, and it was so relaxing. We didnt make it down to the river, so I havent seen the whole park yet, but we definitely want to go back. The trail can be a little steep-- not stroller friendly (I carried the baby in a carrier).
Not fun for kids. The little trail was ok, youre not allowed to kayak, canoe, or swim. The water was very murky.
Its perfect for a run going up and down hill
Its peaceful
Pretty short mile loop trail, but its secluded and quiet which is nice. It seems to be well kept with lots of trash cans, benches, and picnic tables by the river.
Allot of these pictures dont really tie in to this place. But its a really awesome park. Great for walking and looking at the river. If you go early, you can even see the local bever.
Terrible experience for what is suppose to be a county park.. This place is located at the end of a narrow residential road with a small sign and a small gravel parking area, There is no signage for trails, no information on how to access the river. Where the road appeared that it may continue to the river was closed with a wire across it and MANY private property/no trespassing signs. It look like a future crime scene. There is no obvious way to get a kayak or canoe to the water . I recommend avoiding this place till the the county or city put a lot of work and money into it .
Great place to escape the city only 25 minutes from Uptown Charlotte. Hiking and Biking trails. River access is very nice to put canoes and kayaks in and out of river. It is a good hike to river, better put in than take out, as itvis downhill all the way to river.1.5 mile downstream from park, there is McAdenville Dam. Dam is just downstream, below McAdenville access, Portage across river on river left. Stay away from dam. Take out on river right just past interstate bridge is a great option instead of portaging. If you portage, next access is Goat Island Park in Cramerton.
The wevier gots no fish. You fish all day and yous get nothing. I fish for 8 hour OK? And me got nothin...I gets kiked out because of mean police man in front of park..Who he think he is? He spit at me like I wants his germ....I dont know if it alway closed but it is almost all the times closed when I is there.
Be careful of the snakes on the rivers edge
Great place to take a moderate hike and get away from everyone
Love hiking to the river and hanging my hammock and have picnics
The park isnt at the end of the thats private property and that old hermit that lives down there keeps a close eye on it.
Peace and tranquil place
Great place to walk!!
Gods country.
Short hiking trail but not too much else at this park.
