I cannot say enough great things about this wonderful sailing program. Our sailing instructors Clement and Simon are providing excellent sailing/racing instruction to the kids and they are very dedicated to this program and the kids they teach. They love the sport of sailing and are passing a wealth of knowledge on to their students. Thank you Clement and Simon...keep up the great work, your dedication is very much appreciated.

My wedding was at Sea Star Base and it was a great experience! The ceremony space is absolutely beautiful, and everyone we worked with was super accommodating. Angela and Maggie were great. The sail away at the end of the reception was particularly great, we had fun and our guests were entertained!

As a Disabled Veteran, I was so happy to be invited to Sea Star Base Galveston, for the CWCV Challenge for 7 days. We arrived just before Tropical storm Imelda. David Gaston and Michael Janota had it all figured out. We were on the water the evening after we arrived. All the Safety officers they put on each sailboat brought their own style and flair, and many years of sailing showed in their skills. Two lovely ladies, Judy and Jeannie worked around the clock ensuring they provided three meals a day. All home cooked with love.I had never been on a sailboat before and had not one clue how to operate one. This week of hands-on skills learning, classes, and input from all the the seasoned sailors gave me the ability to have the confidence I needed to pass the keel boat certification course test. Even though we were unable to get on the water for 3 days, our instructors had us doing drills in the classroom to simulate what we would be experiencing when we got back out there. Now, that is what I call great instructors. If you ever have the opportunity to join Sea Star Base to sail. DO IT!!! you will be so glad you did.Hugs to my Sea Star Base CrewSincerely HTiseth

On 15 Sept 2019, we drove to Sea Star Base Galveston (SSBG) for the Combat Wounded Veterans Challenge sailing classes, hosted by SSBG. I tagged along with my wife, who is a participating disabled veteran. I was excited to go do Galveston fun stuff with the families who came along.Much to my surprise, I got to sail, too, because a few people who had signed up didnt get to come. I was nervous, I admit. But David Gaston Mike Janota, and Clement Jardin, our instructors, put my nerves at ease. The 7 days of classes and practicing in sail boats was amazing! I learned SO MUCH, and I even passed the test to earn my certification in keelboat sailing. And last but far from least, I made friends for life. Participants from the US, Denmark, and England!I highly recommend Sea Star Base Galveston. They teach sailing to folks of all ages, young and old, with love and kindness. Way to go SSBG!
