I spent time at Marina Bar and Grill at the Galveston Yacht Basin. Absolutely one of the coolest up and coming attractions around.An upstairs, and downstairs bar, a restaurant with fantastic, fresh seafood, live music on a large outdoor stage with a top notch sound system and lighting, and the best talent around. There are picnic tables to sit and enjoy the music and enough room to dance where you stand. This place is really becoming a destination for tourists, and a staple for locals. Whether you just want a bite, or a quick cocktail by the water, or a night out dancing and listening to music. TRY THIS PLACE.
WARNING TO ALL!!!!DO NOT KEEP YOUR Boat HERE!!This place is a joke, Laura at the front counter suffers from doing her job and blames everyone else for it, we left credit card and email on file so they could charge monthly rate and she could not even charge it as noted when we asked her what the email address was for us that she had on file and why we were not being charged for it as we agreed and why we have not received any notices from them at all, we found out she does not know difference Between an M and a N, we helped her correct her error (this was mainly caused by her being in to big a hurry), when we brought her mistaken to the attention of the harbor master and the accounting department Laura tried to cover her mistake up and play it off as though we were the ones that gave her the wrong information and that we did something wrong? These mistakes really could of been caught early on by any professional, however there are none of those working here. Because of Laura’s mistake we were placed in yacht basin jail and because of her errors we were denied access to our boat and it was seized and held hostage by them for her mistakes and when all this was brought to the attention of the harbor master well let’s just say that the Harbor Master Lance is a real pathetic excuse of a man and has no moral compass what so ever and his head? well let’s just say it’s not on his shoulders were is should be.This place is disgusting! The bathrooms in this place are a joke, this place is run down, The restrooms don’t work half the time, they do not disinfect none of the common areas, there is no soap in any of the restrooms, hot water is non existent and their are no other sanitary practices of any kind being applied any where at this facility, the food is terrible and the service is even worse, bad attitudes are plentiful here and the lack of help or ownership for oneself is abundant. So future renters beware !!! If you value it keep it else where.I brought my brand new $45,000 boat to them to care for it and they destroyed it, they left scratches all down the side, oil all over the new cushions and all over the boat, our boat looked like it had been through a fire with all the spot all over it . The trailer had been used to puke a bunch of junk on top of it and when confronted about these issues they ALL ran from them and deliberately released use from our lease in an attempt to circumvent and prevent themselves from having to pay for damages they clearly caused. As per our agreement our boat was to be cleaned and the motor flushed every time we brought it back in and they never cleaned out board as they say they do not even once. Special safety note to all Be very careful on the docks around their as they too are in terrible condition, you risk injuring yourself falling into the water or sinking your boat or losing your boat any time you tie up to any dock. We had three of our visitors injured on location because of these conditions And When we brought to the attention of several workers who witnessed it all unfold they all just excused themselves and walked off saying we would have to discuss it with the harbor master, (the man with no moral compass) .. I could go on and on but I don’t think I have enough characters left to completely describe the utter dis function of this place...from here the State of Texas, The City of Galveston and my attorneys will have to sort it all out,, so note to all please don’t put yourselves in the same situation. I put myself in Buyer Beware !!!!!
Great marina to keep your boat at in Galveston. Nice pool for the family, clean restrooms with showers. Bait shop, fuel dock and pump out station.
Great parking for cars, wonderful facilities for ships and watercraft of all sizes, as well as places to see the water and boats from the docks and nearby restaurants

Its a totally cool hangout for locals and tourists alike. Tourists will have a tough time finding GYB, especially the Marina Bar and Grill. Staff is friendly and cool. They take care of ya.

Muddy bottom anchorage. Bruce held in northerly blow but not without close eye on leeshore. Fuel dock available. Slips for rent. Hot showers. Restricted access. Taxis available to get to town. Bar and grille at marina. Bait store. Boat ramp.
Before you post a review here. Make sure you referring to the marina. Not the Marina Bar and Grill or the or the fishing charters. You can review them independently.If your keeping a big boat in one of the wet slips.You will be disappointed in the overall facilities.Management does not keep up with maintenance.The roof is rusting away over the tops of boats on covered slips.Light bulbs are burned out everywhere.Including the bathroom and laundry facilities.They charge $20 for a pumpout.Bathrooms are generally filthy.Women especially are turned off by this.Yeah...those are cigarettes butts and a band aid in the moldy shower. But its only been there for 2 weeks so far.People come in at night through the apartments that border the property.And steal equipment from the boats.Cars are also broken into.The nearby apartment tenants go over and use the laundry and the pool. A brilliant decision was made to get rid of security.There is no security on premises.Some parking lot lights are no longer working.Security gates are propped or tied open.This place could be top notch with the right management.It is so unfortunate.This place has seen better days. Going down hill fast.Well they just put up 10 Rv hook-ups. Water and power only. You have to drive to a sewer dump. If youre lucky enough to have a washer and dryer in your own RV. I recommend using that. The ones that are here are disgusting.3/2018This poor place just doesnt seem to get any better. It appears what money they receive. Its just spent in the wrong areas.All the charter boats come in and cut up all their fish. Then they dump all the heads and guts right there at the boat. It makes the marina smell pretty bad. Containers are provided. to transport the fish parts out to the harbor. But no one does it.I wish I could write one more good thing about this place. Other than the fact its a quick trip to the Gulf.6/2018The trash in the water and fish carcasses are out of control.5/2019This place is pathetic. lets paint the parking lot. And put up flags. But not clean bathrooms and turn on the air in them.
Nice people, nice place to launch your boat, BUT the docks were falling apart, and I can’t speak for the men’s bathroom however the women’s bathroom was the most disgusting restroom I’d ever been in!!!
Used to be a friendly place to launch but the owners are a bit greedy now running off the middle class with extreme pricing on the boat launch. Makes no sense... we used to pay the $5 fee and spend $75 on bait and munchies.... now we spend zero because we dont go here anymore. Terry,

Ive been at Dry Stack 8 months. Fish a couple days a week. Guys are always great at getting me fixed up. Helped Jump my battery the other day... keep me fueled up. Good friendly staff. Baitshop Jessica and co also give a healthy count on bait. Ive enjoyed it.

They sell decent live bait but cost was a bit higher. Also no public boat ramp. So galvexton has no public boat ramp east of 61st st. Thats no good

It used to be a great place. We kept out boat on the dry stack for over 4 years. The guys were always great with us as new boaters. Upon leaving we advised the office we sold our boat and they gave us some bs story that we will be changed to month to month and will not receive our deposit back. No where in the lease does it indicate that. We gave out 30 day notice and after 2 months received what we prepaid. Mind you I had to call the office almost each week to ask about our money. Bathrooms are always dirty, new dock personal all the time, and pump out works on occasion. We stayed overnight on dock d and they have us a slip where nothing worked. Hope management does something

Relaxing place to hang.
This place has zero customer service. I called for 2 days no answer so drove to Galveston from Houston. Went into the office and a woman was trying to get a copy of invoice. After 15 minutes she left and the lady walked away. They never acknowledged me. The guy Mario took my credit card info, phone and reservation. I called 2 days later to confirm. No answer again. Finally someone answered and took my number. No call back. I got through again and told them not to hang up. Finally lady got on phone and said she had no record of me. So got credit card again and charged it. Gave me slip 28 and when I arrived way to small for my boat. She had all my boat details. This place needs new management and then fire the gal at the desk. So sad for GYB.

Great spot to watch the sunset
Fun place to catch your charter fishing boat, or own a charter boat fishing service. We left on a fantastic deck boat and admired a few yachts in placement at Dock A and B. Parking and loading is easy.
Terrible experience. We spent over $80. To launch the boat, add bait and some tackle. The boat had some engine trouble the staff stood around not lending a hand. The boat got stuck on the launch and experienced some prop damage. After deciding to just load the boat back on the trailer the management refused to give us any of our launch fee back.Our friends who had come by water to spend the day fishing with us were then accused of trespassing after they had just purchased $500. In gas.Bottom line, the staff needs to understand a little customer service.

I had the worst experience ever at this dock trying to launch my boat. It took over an hour just to get launched and there was no line. weIt Then it cost me $2 for every foot the boat is long. Then came in to trailer the boat it was still light outside and there was a chain across the boat ramp. So the guy at the dock called the manager Lance to come unlock the chain but he wouldnt answer. 20 years ago this use to be the best place to launch your boat with the best people and service and the best bait. People would be lined up for hours just to launch here. Now I know why there was no line on a Saturday. I will never launch out of this place again!!!
This marina is a DUMP! GYB seems to continue to go downhill, there is a reason the marina is half-empty and they are offering six months free rent. The bathrooms are filthy, the docks are covered with bird poop, and the covered slips rain rust down on your boat. Management does not care or have any customer service. They will promise you anything to get you to sign a lease then change the rules. Recently when my current year lease expired, I explained to management that my boat was up for sale and I did not expect to have it for another year. They offered me a month-to-month or a year lease while selling my boat. The year lease was $90 a month cheaper with the option to break the lease at any time and pay the month-to-month rate for the months I occupied the slip. After three months I sold my boat, they decided to keep my $540 deposit and say they forgot to mention that my deposit was forfeited. Even though this was all documented in email I was told they made a mistake but too bad. I also was told the pump out and boat ramp was included then later they change the rules. The pump out is now $20 per use and the boat ramp is $1500 per year. How considerate to tack on $1500 per year fee to the $460 per month slip fee. The fuel dock might be open or it might not, depending on the day, don’t bother expecting them to be open during the posted hours. Same thing applies to the bait camp, no real hours, just open when they want. Read the online reviews and talk to people who have spent time at this marina before signing a lease.
This is a grate place to go if you are in Galveston a must see place .

They wouldnt allow me to use their ramp because my liability insurance was only 100k and they want 300k coverage. Will never go there because of such stupidity.
In love with this place
I want the yacht basin to be awesome. We have kept our boat there on an off for 2 years now. It’s so nice to have it in the water ready to go on early fishing mornings. But it never works that way. There is always something. Someone forgets, they are running slow, and this last time they said they wouldn’t launch because we hadn’t paid. We are on auto billing and pay almost $1000 a month...so I see our payments being drawn. We visited accounting and after a few minutes he said”whoopsie” and told us that he’d forgotten to click a button when he reconciled our account. Granted, they did launch our boat then, but they treated us terribly and then just laughed it off when they found their mistake. Awesome that we hadn’t expected an early morning fishing trip, but what a waste of time and money.
Cheapest diesel I have found on the water in the entire state of Texas. $2.5x this weekend.
What a great marina. Beautiful facilities. Large secure docks with lockers, and a very nice bar & grille. We may be moving our boat here very soon.
This is great place to keep your boat, but often, not much else. The food is off and on just like almost everything else about this place.

The slips are horrible and Lance Parks is about as corrupt as they come. I have never met a single person that has had a good experience doing business with Lance or the yacht basin. There are very few people in this world that I dislike, but Lance is definitely in that top few.Chase S

Went there to birdwatch and wasnt disappointed! Its a beautiful area just to go strolling through and taking in a relaxing view, listening to the ocean, hearing the gulls call. You will enjoy all the yatchs, too!
Went out to fish with my son and grandson, we went with a guide service and I can not remember the name but Nathan was our guide he did everything he could to put us on fish nobody was catching anything but he managed to catch some sand trout and we went out to catch some sharks and we did. It was grandsons first fishing trip out and he had a great time.
Get Hooked is the best fishing charter I have ever used. Easy to work with. Very kid friendly. Theyll put you on the fish and make sure that you have an awesome time.

Nice place to walk and look at the criuse ships take off. You can sit in your car and watch if you like. The casino boat also takes off from this port as well.
