This is our absolute favorite toy store anywhere!There are always unique finds!My three kids (9,7,6) can spend hours in here, and the owners are just wonderful people!One of the coolest things, is that they encourage you tot ouch and play with the toys!Lots of games, learning toys, musical instruments to get started with.You name it!

This store had some awesome stuff, didnt take many photos was too busy playing with the toys. Prices were also reasonable. Will be going back, much many things I want.

These people are AMAZING! They are passionate about what they do and are so knowledgeable about their products! We LOVE this place and their one of a kind toys! We come here every time we come to Galveston and always leave with an arm load of stuff.

Really cute store, had lots to choose from. Unfortunately I didnt find what my niece wanted... toy food. It would of been nice to be acknowledged by the staff when we arrived, while we were there or when we left. But over nice store.

Play of the Strand is a very fun place for kids and adults to look at and play with toys. The owner and staff are amazingly hospitable. Such a level of customer attention so refreshing. Im very happy that we stopped in and we absolutely love the purchases we made. Our family would recommend this store to all kids 0 - 99 years old!

The owner of this store is so nice and personable. Had a great time looking around as well as playing with some of the toys. They have cool arcade games in the back that you can play too! Such a great place to buy gifts and explore. Also great for teachers needing sensory items and fidget toys. Would highly recommend!!!

I was looking for a kite as I forgot mine at home. They have kites!! I am going back to get gifts for my grandkids here instead of T-shirts; they will appreciate toys and books more. I bet you can’t go in and not find something that makes you smile!

We just have to say that we absolutely love everything about this toy store! Every time we make a trip down to Galveston we make it a point to stop here and say hello to the owner and to check out all the great toys. When you step inside and he greats you and your children you automatically get swept back to your childhood. This is what a toy store should be all about. Even though we can only come down 1 or 2 times a year the owner still remembers who we are. He even gives great recommendations on toys our son would like for his age range. And he is always spot on! That’s what is missing from the “big box” stores. It’s that home town feeling. The kids get to explore the shop and even test out/play with toys before you even buy them. They also have a few arcade games that you can play. Being a doctor who fan I love the classic pinball game he has and my wife always hold on to a few quarters for when we come here so I can play a few games. So if you’re looking for a good wholesome toy store to get great long lasting toys for your kids or you are a big kid at heart this is the place to come to! If I could give more then 5 stars I would in a heart beat!

A very fun store! Theyve got lots of cool things to play with, and the management is super friendly. My favorite part was the inflatable igloo tent at the front.

The customer service is amazing! Everyone is super polite, kind, and funny! If you want to see new trendy toys along with old fashioned ones as well, this is the place! Almost didnt want to leave because I had a lot of fun in there.

Came here while on vacation in Texas. This place is awesome! Its got lots of stuff for younger kids, but also has a ton of jigsaw puzzles and logic games. I found my new favorite fidgety toy here. The owner and his employees are all super nice, too. Thanks for a great experience!

Such a great store. Most of the time spent on The Strand is focused on the adults not this place. It great for kids and adults of all ages. The children are allowed to test toys out and love on a huge bear.We found and purchased several toys that we played with as kids and will now share with our grandkidsWe also enjoyed chatting with the owner Mr Bill and his friendly knowledgeable staffA must stop when visiting The Strand

I absolutely love this shop I wish I could give it an 100 out of 5 star rating they have amazing,cute,fun,new,and old fashioned toys,accessories,and stuffed animals. On top of all that the workers and owner were extremely nice and great with kids, I defiantly want to visit shop again!

This store is really cool! I took my 10 year old grandson in there and he went nuts ! He was so excited and impressed with everything they had. They have the unusual stuff not just your everyday junk. They have samples of the toys out so you can actually touch and experience the toy. I really liked that. They also have great customer service. The workers see you looking at something and they jump right up and show you how it works. We will definitely be going back. My grandson says it’s his Favorite store!!!

What a fun little store on the Strand! Most of the shopping down there is all about the same with shells and cheap t-shirts, but not this store. It had unique toys and the staff was so fun. They encourage our kids to try everything and even played with them. In the back they have old arcade games and a place to sit and rest.

I have to say that the one thing that impressed me the most about this store was the knowledge and enthusiasm of the staff that worked there. The owners/management really give their staff the tools to be experts at the products they sale. There were so many unique toys but they were able to answer any question about them and share real world experiences of how these toys can be enjoyed. This was really helpful when deciding what to get our 1 year old twins a bday gift. I will forever make it a point to visit this store every time I come to Galveston. Thanks for a great shopping experience!

Stopped in to play a few old arcade games, but it was the charm of the store and the delightful staff that made me stay. Cozy and welcoming shop with a well thought-out selection of toys for all ages and interests (even the older kids like me). This place is super amazing! I advise everyone to go visit it. The staff is super friendly, they even have toys out for the kids to play with. If you get a chance, sneak into the back of the place and play the pinball machine! There is a little bit of everything for everyone!!!

I love this store but you should update your hours. Store hours online are 10am-6pm. I went by your store on a Saturday recently to buy a birthday party gift at 1015am and was sad to find you were not open.

This place is so Awesome! We went a week ago then came back today, they have at least one of all of there merchandise open for demo. You can play with anything and if its open you can ask them to open it for you to demo. Super fun place staff is awesome they will show you how to use stuff and other fun stuff. Must go place! Unlike any toy store Ive been to

The owner and employees here are all very kind, helpful, fun, and great with the kids that visit the store. I think they just love seeing the kids smiling faces and they have sooooo much patience.

The old fashioned arcade is liked by the boys. Board games and puzzles are liked by the adults and kids. Great customer service. Less big chain toy store which is great

Love this place my kids and I had a wonderful experience here. Great finds, my son loves things he has to put together and they had the perfect things for him and his sister. My daughters set of make your own lip gloss was perfect, best quality we could find. The owner was so nice, replaced my sons toy when it didnt work no questions asked. Will definitely be back next time on the island.

Okay so Im a little biased because I work here now, but how many jobs are there where youre going to get paid to play with toys all day.We are a hands on toy store and we encourage you to play with our demo toys. If you have a particular toy you are looking for something from your childhood chances are we have it. We dont do remote control or video games our toys cause you to think. Play on the Strand is a nice toy store with some rare finds, vintage/classics toys, and some rare varieties not in mass merchandiser stores for more common lines of toys. Local family, owner really connects well with children! It was our pleasure to give him our business!
