My husband and I visited the Museum today and had a great time! The lady at the front was very kind and helped walk us through the tour. The museum is an awesome place to visit because it gives a lot of great history! Kids would love going in and out of all the trains not to mention the Thomas the Train and Polar Express souvenirs! Also,The train station is really cool! I recommend people take their families

Charging $20 for parking! This really put a damper on our trip because I painstakingly budgeted everything. It says in numerous places on their site & FB page that parking is free. Then to add insult to injury, parking was plentiful so there really is no reason to charge. Plus, you cant take any of your own pictures with Santa, & the cheapest picture they offer is a small 5x7 for $22 dollars. The museum was nice, but the nickel & diming is excessive.

Free parking, $10 admission. Arrive when they open and spend an hour - two if you read every single word on every display - then visit The Strand tourist/ shopping area directly behind them - which by itself costs $10-$15 for parking - and basically get admission to the train site for free. The location includes a museum (about 300 square feet with a lot of photos and a limited number of objects, a few cars to walk through (4), another 10 you can see the exterior of, and the beautiful huge restored lobby from which passengers used to arrive & depart.

Great place to bring the family. I have never been on a twin before, so it was neat to see how people traveled on the trains. The model trains were amazing! They kids had a blast watching them go round and round. They even had a Melissa & Doug train table for the kids to play with. We went on a Monday so it wasn’t that busy. The only downside to coming during the week is they don’t have the train ride. That is only available on Saturday’s. We will definitely make the trip back on a Saturday to take a ride.

This place is awesome. And probably pretty thoroughly reviewed. Not sure I can add any words that havent been said already. The tour starts with plates and silverware, but continues with an impressive model train display, the old depot with creepy plaster mannequins that Im pretty sure come to life at night. Not positive. The bulk of the tour is walking around in real retired antique train cars, climbing aboard steam engines and that type of thing. I dont mean to downplay it. Its really awesome. Its great and for the price, you wont find a more interesting, hands-on experience for all ages.Highly recommended!

A wonderful way to step back in time and spend an afternoon. The exhibits are exceptional and well cared for. Its great that these pieces of history were saved and preserved. I would have loved to have been able to climb into an engine cockpit but I understand the need for preservation. The rooms with china and silverware were really fun to wander through and let my imagination run. The ghost passengers in the station told a powerful story.

I recommend this place for families with little kids that love trains, or train enthusiasts. I went with my husbands family, and my little niece loved the train ride. You do have to pay for that, but totally worth it to see the bright look from a new experience on her face! My husband and father in law are also into engines, and they even opened up a train not on display so that they could climb in and look. This I definitely an awesome family place, and had quite a bit of really cool history. You get to climb into many of the trains. They are old, and a lil musty from past flooding, but thats included in the history. It is pretty basic for a museum, but I had a wonderful time with my family!!

The model train area is closed, and there is no date for when it will reopen from the building being remodeled. The $55 price tag for my 7-person family when the whole museum isnt even open seems unfair. That being said, the parts that were open were fantastic. My 3,4,&5 yo kids loved it.

Very dissappointed, big parts closed and just 4 trains on tracks with a few cars open to view. Waste of $10 entry fee as you can drive around and see almost as much from the comfort of your car. Trains are over 100 years old but many are in poor condition and rusty, crusty and falling apart.

Lovely little museum. My grandkids loved it. I loved the architecture of the building. I saw a place where I think they sell hamburgers and such...maybe...I didnt really check it out. My only complaint is that I think they need to use a wristband system so they can tell who has checked in and who hasnt. We were chased down a few minutes after checking in with our city pass to be told we need to check in and buy tickets...we couldnt just look around.
