We were lucky enough to visit on a Tuesday afternoon when there were only two other families in the aquarium, and I cant recommend that timing enough! The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and we saw animals in multiple exhibits being fed (which was super fun to watch!) Everything was very clean and the path through the aquarium was easily marked. Perfect afternoon for a family with kids, or just a couple like us!

Really a nice aquarium with plenty of things to see. Great jelly fish display and the view room of the large tank is mesmerizing. They have a great collection that is beautifully displayed of many varieties of living coral. (Love the coral rescue lab, too). Its definitely worth a visit!

Didnt remind me of the regular aquarium Ive been to our go to. I was saying, lets just go through this to end so we could go to 4d movie in rainforest triangle. But, great views on top and bottom of sea lion/seal and penguin display disregard us. Loved how they orchestrated the set up of room to room, sea animals to sea animals.

If you plan on going alot get the membership its only 100 dollars and it gets you into everything except the water park.

The aquarium has so much to offer for kids and adults. There is a very large variety of marine life from small reef type fish, black tip sharks to sea lions and penguins. I always enjoy coming here and taking in the colors of life that are offered. One of my favorite aquariums close to home.

What a amazing place. Ive never seen an aquarium like this. The way you see it on multiple levels is so cool. Weve been to a couple of aquariums but this by far is the best. Went here on vacation and wish we could have stayed longer. One day is not enough for the whole place. My daughter (5) had the time of her life. Plenty of Interactions to keep her amused and still me in my 40s I had a good time. We will be back

My whole family enjoyed our trip to the aquarium! From our 2 year old all the way up to Grandma. I thought it may be a bit overpriced especially considering all the touch exhibits are now closed. But it was still really fun! The penguins at this aquarium are the only penguins Ive seen in an enclosure that truly looked healthy and happy.

Visited during Covid so there were some downsides. The biggest being no touch pools. However being from Georgia the price we paid was the same and was able to see all attractions which I loved. It was overall a wonderful experience. The rainforest and paddleboat were my favorite. Cant wait to return and hopefully things will be back to normal so we can experience the touch pools. Keep up the good work at keeping everyone and thing safe during these times!!

This was our 2nd time here and l got to say covid19 killed off crowds but it also killed off all hands on interaction as well sadly. It was $74 for 2 adults. It would have been cheaper to do the whole grounds for $64 each bc we were in and out in an hour w just the aquarium. My favorite was the octopus which look like Pokémon candles and the chocolate chip starfish. Pics added. A/C mask required.

Review №27

This place is absolutely amazing but I just need to pass on a word of warning for those people who might be visiting with a service dog.The entire place is service dog friendly EXCEPT the rainforest exhibit. The benefit of us having a service dog is that it helps my daughter be independent with her disability. The rainforest exhibit is completely open air, meaning birds and monkeys are just out running around the walkways. Our service dog is very well trained so this wasnt that big of a deal until exhibit staff came running to us and controlling our visit out of concern for their rainforest animals. Suddenly, we were singled out and given a whole lecture, asked a bunch of (ADA friendly) questions, and had all of our movements controlled and restricted. It was enough chaos and commotion to cause my daughter to start stemming and her service dog to start signaling which just made the entire situation even worse. We ended up just exitng out of that exhibit early, without really getting to enjoy any of it.We had no issues at any of the rest of the exhibits, including the aquarium. But if we would have known the rainforest exhibit would be like that, we would have been more prepared.

We have just back from our family vacation from galveston. We had a party of 9 of us that has came down, with 5 being kids we decided to take them to the aquarium, and we were not let down. Lots of different sections with there own feel. From petting stingrays to big ole sea lions, to a happy little puffer fish seen down below, this place has a lot. Kids were constantly amused and we spent around an hour and a half there. Nice little gift store with decent food court, with the prices you would expect to pay at such a place. Would highly recommend stopping here if you are visiting the area.

We loved this place. Luckily the day we went were having less crowd. We covered the aquarium and the 3D & 4D theaters. Kids will love it. The aquarium was so clean and well arranged. We could get to pet stingray and start from fish. The penguins were amazing. If anyone plans to visit this place when in Galveston, is a good choice as to could combine Schlitterbahn along with moody gardens as both at right next to each other. Definitely recommendable.

The price was a bit up there but overall it was a good visit. The hallway flow is a little here and there but if you just pick one and follow it it will eventually spit you out in another hallway that you can follow. So dont worry about missing anything thinking you have to make a decision right at the beginning. We lucked out being there during some feeding time so seeing the seals so playful was fun. It was a nice option to have on a rainy day.

It is far too pricey for the value you get. It takes about 20-30 min to go through the entire thing. If you consider some of your money being part donation it makes sense, but if you are expecting the aquarium to be equal to the value of what you spend for a family, be prepared to be disappointed.

This ended up being much better than anticipated! I would even say its better than the state aquarium in Corpus. We visited during the Christmas Holidays and were able to take advantage of a day pass which let us visit the Aquarium and other attractions at Moody Gardens. There was plenty of things to see include a touch tank, penguins, and a glass ceiling walkway where fish are swimming over you.I was surprised to see that the food courts were reasonably priced compared to what youd find at these establishments.

You have to visit the aquarium. So cool. There are so many things to do while in Galveston, Texas but if its raining or too hot out think about coming here.We visited here on a week day, after Labor and it wasnt busy. It was nice to see the support for home school programs. The kids were there learning about the different sea animals and enjoying the interactive atmosphere. Especially being able to touch the stingrays. The history of how the aquarium was built is cool. Put this one on your places to see list.

For the price point I was expecting more. I was keen on going to the aquarium in San Antonio, not being able to do that as originally planned we came up with this spot as a nice compromise. 98 dollars, two adults, one 5 yr old child. Consisted of less total exhibits than one house inside of the zoo. They are definitely impressive, but a lot of it was also empty. The jellyhouse exhibit had two exhibits with absolutely nothing in it. ALL of their interactions were done by the time we showed up at 2pm.I might check out other aspects of Moody Garden, but I seriously doubt Ill be back to the Aquarium unless my daughter requests it, and I doubt she ever will.Hopefully San Antonio is better.
