My childhood cinema will always have a special place in my heart. But, like just because it’s usually not super busy doesn’t mean stale popcorn is okay. Especially for the price.It’s been dead since COVID. I hope it’s still operational.

While everyone else was out chasing toilet paper my daughter and I had the entire theater to ourselves to watch the new sonic movie !! Quality family time right there !!! Thanks for a priceless memory. I appreciate yall for being there

Great atmosphere!

I spent many many hours at this theater during my time at Knox College. It was always clean and the air conditioning was appreciated. My best friend GG and I power-watched multiple movies and practiced our Miley pouts out front. I love her so much and couldnt think of a better partner for watching a whimpy kids rotting cheese on a blacktop. Call me, birthday girl :)

I really enjoyed the customer service and the overall attitude and mood of the staff and building itself. They may have appeared to be a little short handed and a little small on the concession selection, but this did not bother me one bit as I was able to get my tickets, snacks, and find the theater in a very timely and simple manner.

This theater is starting to look dated. The seats are uncomfortable and stained. The concessions are very limited. That being said, it is actually clean and the staff seems good. The screens have held up and you cant tell if they are older. Sound is good. Dont go see your favorite movie here, but it is just fine for a casual movie night.

Concessions stand closes before the last movies end. Theaters are clean and well maintained.

Overall a better experience than I expected. Tickets of course are quite cheap (7 bucks starting) and the workers are more than pleasant enough. Ive we got into the theatre, the experience was great! A good, clean and large display greeted us with deeper sound than most small town theatres have. The seats were overall comfortable and there is more than enough room to walk down an aisle is someone is already there. All in all, I would go back!

I have been going to this theater since it was built. Like most business, in the beginning everything is great, but as time passes it seems the owners take less interest in the goings on unless something major happens. The theaters were always clean in the beginning. Now its not odd to walk into sticky floors. It seems the bare minimum is done for cleaning. Im not sure if this is a worker issue, or lack of proper management.The worst part of this place though, is the parking lot. Unless you park far away from the theater, where most people dont park, there are huge potholes along all of the stress cracks. I have to drive extremely slow to avoid damaging my tires. This is an issue that has been steadily getting worse over the years.Overall I generally have a good time watching movies here. I just wish the little things were paid closer attention to.

Amazing little movie theater. I enjoyed my time there, I went here for my first date. Facility was nice and clean and the staff were helpful and friendly thank you for giving me a unforgettable memory

The snacks are just awfully pricey, but that must be how theaters survive. I still love going to the movies, and I dont get to go very often, so I try not to grumble about the cost. I do really dig the Coke Free-style machine, though.

The staff is always friendly and works quickly. The admission price to movies is always lower than expected. The price for anything from concessions is always higher than expected. I realize the theater needs to pay the staff, the utilities, the fees for bringing the movies, etc... - but I would appreciate if the parking lot would be redone. The possible damage to tires is bad enough, but if someone falls it could be devastating.

The ticket prices are very reasonable..but great day if you want a soda or popcorn its 150% more than the tickets. It was clean and bathrooms also. I suppose for galesburg its a good place to see a show but its always got the movies that other theaters are done showing.

Watched the fourth installment of Men In Black. It was pretty good. We went to the matinee time on a Wednesday. We were the only ones in the theater watching it. Weird.

I realize that Galesburg is a small town, but coming from a service background there are things I expect. Customer service is a HUGE problem here. The hours posted arent the hours they work by. They dont answer the phones and when they do they put you on hold or hang up. When at the ticket register the employees copped attitudes. The one star review is out of fairness because the young lady at the refreshment kiosk apologized for someone elses behavior. Overall Galeaburg is small and this is probably the one form of entertainment for a lot of the population which I believe the employees abuse as an advantage to treat cash paying customer and AMC STUB MEMBERS rudely.

Wonderful place to grab a movie. Although it was a little loud even for me, as I like listening to a good sound system with my movie. Come early for matinee prices.

Its normally a great theatre, but the guy that sold us tickets was extremely unenthusiastic. Smile more guy. Make me feel welcomed. However the concession counter manager was the exact opposite, she was cool and gave us a free upgrade on our popcorn because it was the last showing. Movie was great, it was a comfortable temperature, with comfortable seats :) popcorn could have been a little more fresh but it was the last showing of the night, so Im okay with it.

For as much as it costs to get in to watch a movie, get one tiny box of popcorn and a drink....youd THINK someone could take time to clean the liquid all over the floors near the pop dispenser, the disgusting counters in the ladies bathroom and the littered-up aisles in the theaters....good grief. I even told them about it....but no one came out from behind the counter to mop the floor. Both myself and my daughter who uses a cane, slipped and nearly fell--as did a couple of other people... The movie was good......but I think had it NOT been one I HAD BEEN WAITING TO SEE....and that it was a birthday treat for myself and a grandson.....I wouldnt have stayed. Yuck. so much for enjoying Fantastic Beasts the Crimes of Grindelwald. You folks can do better..Ive seen it nicer in there.

Nice theater but outrageous prices for snacks and beverages! That is why I rarely go to the movies. Cheaper to wait for the DVD

The prices for food were a high, but other than that its still fun!

Went to see It with a friend. The movie was great. The only cashier was at concessions. This made for a long and SLOW line. There was only 1 cashier who I am guessing was fairly new because he wasnt familiar with the cash register. There was a guy that was trying to help move the line along by getting peoples prefers ready but no one knew what they wanted so he just ran around a lot. There were 2 people taking tickets that were bored enough to talk to each other. I think it would have be a better call to have one of the three extra of them open a ticket register. Things would have moved much faster. Normally when I go there the lines are quick and I get my concessions quickly so I can find a good seat for the movie.

Great place we watched bumblebee and ended up being the only two that watched it. I recommend watching bumblebee and the movie theater was very clean

Very friendly staff and the theater is kept very clean. It is an older theater though and the amenities of the newer theaters are not present. The seats dont recline, the stairs arent illuminated and the seating is not as spacious. That being said, it is a great place to take your kids and they do a good job with what they have. I frequent this theater about once a month on average and I enjoy it when I go...the only time I notice the features it lacks is after Ive gone to a few movies in the bigger city where I work

It is a movie theater, what can you expect. Watched endgame, it was good. You can go without spending a lot of money if you avoid popcorn.

Best movie house in the State. The employees make the experience fun..I ho 3 times a week with friends.

Small and local! Usually, no wait times and quick access the the concessions with up-to-date soda fountains. The seats are very comfortable and is only full when a huge blockbuster comes out

I go to lots of movies here. I love the experience and the stub card perks. The new pop machine is great! I want to give a compliment to one of the employees in particular, though most are friendly and helpful. His name is Caleb. He is always exceptionally friendly and helpful. He never is in a bad mood, even in stressful situations. Thanks to all who make the movie experience fun and a good time.

Yes, good prices on matinees, bathrooms are clean, but please, please bring in a movie or two that a grown-up would enjoy. The selections all summer were terrible. You wont give a well reviewed film a week?Congratulations, you did bring in Fences which I saw and the excellent Hidden Figures. Saw that last night with friends and we all loved it. Please, please bring in more movies like these two, would love to see Manchester by the Sea and La La Land and also Lion, there is an audience here for good films.Update July 1st, back to awful films. Theater is always clean. Employees are knowledgeable and friendly. Staff handles any disturbances in the theater promptly. My only issues is lack of food choices at concessions, prices of concessions, and lack of staffing at concessions. On my most recent visit, my movie started at 7:30pm and was the last movie of the night. The concession stand had been closed by 8:00pm. It’s of my opinion the concessions should stay open longer even if it’s the final movie of the night.

Love seeing movies here! The prices are amazing and they always have a wide selection of new movies. The staff has always been extremely friendly as well!

I love it here. Its like my second home. If you go more than a couple times a year then you should go ahead and buy the popcorn bucket. You can always bring it back with you and refill it for $5.

Staff members are friendly and usually get you through lines as quickly as they can. Dont think the movies are always played in the best theaters, meaning some new releases are put into the smaller theaters and get pretty crowded. Overall, a nice theater.

Ive been going there for years! As long as I can remember! I even had a job there a few years back. They are by far one of the best places to work. They get good movies and the staff is very friendly. Yes, the snacks are pricey as EVERY movie theater is, and Ive been to other theaters that cost way more for their concession food. Its not a movie theater if the snacks are not overpriced. Recommend.

Its a good place to go see movies, although certain movies you have to go out of town to watch if its a one time showing and you cant go to the only bight its playing in Galesburg

It would be a 4 or 5 star if it were not for the SUPER HIGH PRICES on their popcorn and a drink! We would enjoy the movie much more if we hadnt felt like we were just held up at the popcorn stand before going in to the theater.

AMC movies is very awesome! Just recognize the greatness of action packed entertainment content! Popcorn and water should be cheaper but still a worthwhile investment for watching some of the best actors in the game! 3D Visuals are neat and I saw Aquaman and Glass and it made me a fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Theater has been here awhile now. Could use a few upgrades like more leg room with the seating. How about reclining seats like alot of theaters have. Concessions are pricey but what movie theater isnt. At least this theater offers incentives for money saving.Overall AMC Showplace is a nice enough theater for being in a small town. Staff is always informative and friendly. No complaints about this small town theater. Would add a extra star if the theater would do some upgrading to make it more current. The theater has been here quite a a few years now without any upgrades.

Overall the establishment is clean, has a pleasant atmosphere, is well soundproofed to keep the noise from one theater from leaking into the another or even the hallway, and generally good about obtaining the latest movie releases in a good variety of genres.The staff, while always polite and active, do tend to work at a leisurely pace which leads to consistently long lines for tickets and concessions. Combined with what seems to be a constant 10% chance of the online showtimes being incorrect, assume that you will miss a few previews unless you show up 20 minutes earlier than you would prefer.

All digital sound, 3 d projectors surround sound. Great staff. You will enjoy movies at this theater.
