Very nice and well maintained park, clean and green. Dont expect any special tributes to Tom Petty other than a sign with his photo at the entrance. Its just a normal park that has been dedicated to him.

Good dog park well maintained and spacious. Did not use other facilities but other recreational sports fields and track. Nice park with well maintained outdoor areas. Friendly neighborhood dog park. Park dedicated in 2019 to Tom Petty Memorial Park due to his childhood spent in Gainesville and in recognition of his outstanding life time contributions in the music industry.

Review of dog park only: I try to take my 65lb catahoula mix here at least once a week to sniff and run around. Its a medium-sized park with lots of grass and a good number of trees. Theres a large dog and a small dog section. Theres also doggy bags, a trash can, and a hose and water fountain ares. The large dog section has some holes, ditches, and low areas that need to be filled in for safety.

Awesome park. Many sports areas to play in. Small and large dog park fenced in for dogs. Though, people put their small dogs in the big pen so be careful about fights. Usually not busy during the day. Peaceful park to walk through, with jungle gym and swings to use when it is opened back to the public (parks closed due to covid now). You can still walk around, play tennis, racquetball, and there are fields for baseball or softball available as well.

It was a nice little dog park, even if we happened to be the only ones there. The murals were great, and the playground seemed pretty nice.

Ive often walked around the park and used the dog park, havent used the tennis courts or baseball fields but they are often being utilized. The dog park is tops... nice water area, poop bags are always available, balls are often donated. Its just a good community spot!

Nothing fancy and seems a lot of restrictions for a rock&roll park (no loud rock&roll allowed says the sign.) A few signs designating it the Tom Petty Park, and lots of nice trees. Pleasant enough to stop and rest a while. Kids were playing volleyball and tennis the day I visited but there seems to be limited playground equipment.

We enjoyed the fenced in dog park at Tom Petty. Dogs are given separate areas for large/small breeds. We liked the shade from the trees, benches, drinking water for dogs, and grassy areas of this park. As with every dog park, owners are responsible for their own dogs.

Love this park. I take my kids to this park because my kids love the merry go round ! Me & my husband play volleyball every Sunday with their volleyball net. Also this park is pet friendly, theres a nice size park for the dogs ! The perfect place to have a birthday party, family gathering, walk your dogs, and just relax & enjoy the beautiful nature! Softball field is nice as well as the indoor tennis area. All around awesome park ! Great for picnics !

Most people and dogs are friendly or mind their own business . Some people are very rude though . one girl came into the park but did not let her dog in, so it was just running around outisde the fence . it was attacking an elderly couple that yelled at it to stop and get away . the girl did not do anything about it .

Quaint park for the locals. Lacks a lot of the amenities other parks have though. It can feel a little unsafe at times too. Dog park is where the action is at. Assuming you have dogs....

I absolutely loved this park. I took my dog all the time for socialization. Now I love it even more just knowing it was dedicated to Tom Petty! Its a very nice park. Has baseball, tennis, racquetball, two areas for the dogs to socialize (1 for smaller dogs and maybe not so socialize and 1 for the larger dogs), a place to have a picnic, a walking path, and playground equipment for kids. What more could you ask for?

This park suffers from the same thing that most of the parks in town suffer from: lack of shade over the playground. Other than that its a fine park. There is plenty of shaded areas around, just not directly over the playground equipment, which means little ones are subject to extreme heat and UV radiation the whole time they are playing. The slides and other climbing stuff can become very hot throughout the day, which really sucks.
