My kids love Coming here. The staff is friendly. They have a good amount of stations to keep the kids busy for a few hours. My kids love feeding the fish. The front desk personnel provides it and it’s free. The only negative comment is that the place is in desperate need of some housekeeping. The floors are... disgusting. There is dust everywhere. Some days they don’t even have soap in the restrooms. I’ll be honest, I hesitate bringing my kids here but they truly have such a great time. I hope management reads this review and considers cleaning the place.

Wasn’t sure what to do for Halloween it’s a very scary time. Had received an email notifying me of a Halloween event. Had to link purchase tickets online. Kids had a blast it was perfect. Thank you for saving Halloween ️️

They should have two lines for reserved members and non members.You have to wait in line til to pay for the entry after that they want you to go back all the way back where the line starts because you are not reserved member. That was waste of time they should organized it better then or just said no entry without reservation.

Thanks to Yelp I was able to check out the Discovery center. The facility highly depends on volunteers and donations; therefore, do not be disappointed by its appearance. Kids love this place. I took my 5, 6, & 13 year old there and they had a blast! The kids were able to work/play with lab activities, pet a bunny & a snake, be hands on with so many activities, and most importantly, they had fun learning. They would get so into an activity, it was hard to get them to try other activities, and the cycle continued.

Variety of exhibits - nature, science, physics. Good mix of outdoor and indoor. Kids in my group ages 3-8 all had good time for 2.5 hours, and we could stay there longer. Suitable for older kids too. Things to improve - 1. More guidance/structure programs 2. Healthier snacks 3. Some exhibits were not in good shape. Overall great value!

I just visited the discovery center on Tuesday and my grandson had so much fun he asked to go back the next day. First the staff is professional and helpful, the place is kept really clean and the have educational experiences from plants to outer space. My grandson really enjoyed feeding the fish and petting the snake. Needless to say I bought a year membership and Im looking forward to returning.

Went today on a school fieldtrip with my daughters school and it was a great experience. At first I thought it looked a bit small, but after we started doing different activities...we needed more time! Nice place to take the kids!

Came for a school field trip with my autistic son and this place is amazing. Staff is polite and knowledgable. Everyone should bring their kids here and explore. Grounds are well kept and it has a large area for many kids to enjoy.

The kids and I really love this place! Theres so much to do and its a perfect place for all kids of all ages and capabilities. Theres so much room for them to run around and get dirty! Theres so much for them to learn and be hands on!

We visited on a free day, check the website. The girls loved everything, and had a great time. This is the place to go for good wholesome no frills childhood fun and learning.

The Discovery Center has always been an experience. It continues to offer amazing and interactive learning displays. It is a great place for classroom field trips as well as an interesting place for anyone wanting to learn more about our area and the people and critters that have been a part of local history. It is the best little local museum around Fresno County! Make a day of it!

I remember going here as a child, now my boys enjoy going here, the employees are friendly, there is reptiles, toys, and lots of learning they can do here! We love it and will continue to come here.

My sons school came to The Discovery Center on a field trip. It was actually bigger than I anticipated. There are a couple of buildings and a great little playground area. The children got to to touch reptiles, bugs, and a bunny. They enjoyed the interactive learning. We will definitely visit again.

I love taking my children here because theres so much to see and do... theres fish, turtles, snakes, a play ground, a place to have a picnic and soooo much more.... and the workers are awesome they make u feel welcome the minute u walk thru the gate

My program and I went today I was very disappointed in this place not much to do and not many reptiles... When we got there we were greeted by this rude lady that mentioned to us they had a school there.. It made us feel she didnt want us there.. I wont be going back there anymore.. If I could of got refund I would of.. I would have rather went to Dollar Tree or Target.. Bummer..

The Discovery Center is a hidden treasure in the Fresno community. It is located at 1944 N. Winery near the airport. It has a museum with exhibits inside and cool grounds to explore outside. This makes a great field trip or a fun family excursion. There is a space shuttle, teepee, cactus garden with tortoises, pond full of creatures, gardens, and more to explore outside. With prior arrangement, you can have lessons taught to your group like making goop to teach about liquids and solids and other fun hands-on experiences. I have always had amazing experiences both with my students, and my own children. We even attended a super fun birthday party at the Discovery Center. This is one of Fresnos best kept secrets. Dont miss out on the fun; make sure to visit soon!

My kids had a fantastic time here. Not only are there a whole bunch of different areas to intrigue them, all hands on, both indoors and outdoors, but the staff was SO sweet and friendly. We got to pet a boa, and feed the bearded dragon and the tortoises. So cool.

I have Two or Three issues with the Discovery Center, one I have a family of 4 and there is no membership package for us. There is no 1 person package either. Or where you can add on an extra guess. There are Only 3 or 5 people packages. So I have to leave one child out each time we go. The man in charge had an attitude of like, well its not my problem and Im not going to go out of my way to help you. If I hadnt already bought our membership I would think twice about renewing.Two, the pond as you cross the bridge to get into the building is filthy you can barely see the fish. Im told its because of the turtles and they need to get a higher filtration system to keep it clean to see.Also most of the exhibits were broken or down. (I was told it was due to some naughty children not following the rules and no adult supervision).Now our visit was saved because the wonderful staff went out of their way to make our visit a memorable one. The reptile talk was very educational and hands on. And we got to see some rare actions from the inhabitants (the Hissing Cockroach shedding its skin. We just couldnt stay the hours to see it get back its brown color). Were going back, I just have to leave one of my children.

It was cool, theres a reptile room and some pretty neat stuff outside also. I loved that there was so much for my 18m old to do inside, and there was dress up!

I was terribly disappointed when bringing my daughter shes a discovery center for a family visit I sound that the prices were extremely high that the exhibits were not well maintained, they had many many many lost and broken pieces the atmosphere was dark, dismal and a bit mildewy however those were the inside exhibits the outside exhibit has a new play yard which my daughter very much enjoyed I do believe they need to update and renovate some of the play scenes outside as well the spaceship is old and my daughter did hurt herself on it on her way out but she ended up having a good time being able to play with lots of children and I enjoyed watching her have fun unfortunately I dont know when the next time I will be taking her there because of the disappointment I hope many people start to donate money and or services to help Spruce the place up because it is a very good idea!

We Love the Discovery Center! This cute place has so much to offer for exploring and curious minds. My young kiddos love the pretend play and my oldest son likes the engineering type gadgets. The staff is very friendly and engaging. I definitely recommend this place for family fun!

Why am I the only one who thought this place was boring

We decided to go to the Discovery Museum as our last part of a short Newcastle trip. Part science centre, part local history and everything set up in a very interactive fashion. We spent unexpectedly 3 1/2 hours inside for the grand total of zero pounds. Entry is free! Every city should have a facility like this.

What a wonderful place. My 3 year old grand daughter did not want to leave. The eight foot antenna dishes as echo station was outstanding. What a great use to recycle those into something fun for everyone.

I love this place it’s good to see family’s come in to spend time with there children and I love seeing the enjoyment in the children’s faces , yes it’s a lil worn down but that’s why they need donation it’s a none profit org .its a place that kids love

Great place for young kids. Annual memberships start at $50. My 3 and 4 year old love it and average 2 to 3 hours when we go.

Good concept. Needs everyone to visit or donate. The facility needs updating yet does a good job with what they have.

They have really cleaned this place up and have taken it up a few notches than the last time I was here 2 years ago. There were some new exhibits and the front counter is a much better than before.This place was a lot of fun when I was a kid, but it even looked worn down back then. Everything looks better taken care of now. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was that the price for admission for parents was a little high. Kids are $8 each and adults were $6 each. Thats $36 for a family of 5. I felt it was a little steep for the parents considering how much there is for adults to do. Next time, Id recommend that just one parent accompany the kids. This place is clearly geared towards kids. Give the adults a break on the price please.

Great indoors and outdoors area for kids to explore and learn about different sciences. My family bought a pass and make a weekly visit. Great friendly helpful staff that makes you feel welcome. I would strongly suggest a visit. Watch out for mid day during the week multiple schools come here for field trips, and it can become crowded.

We had a lot of fun here. The recent remodel was great! All 3 kids ages 7, 9 and 14 had a fun and educational time. Also if you go on Wednesday that is feeding day for all the snakes too. The kids thought is was really cool to see that! The staff was great too!

CAUTION TO THOSE WHO ARE ALLERGIC TO CORN! This is a lovely place to take the family. At first, I felt like it was a bit pricey....but in the end we all felt that is was well worth the admission. Everything is interactive and all of our kids (1 1/2, 3, and 10) thoroughly enjoyed all the activities. I was also very pleased to see an employee taking the time to sanitize the toys so everything is very clean. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed our picnic at the tables just outside the cactus garden. There is also a childrens garden containing the most delicious oranges ever!! By the time we left, my kids were covered in sticky orange juice! My only caution is for those who have food allergies: they have an indoor display of Indian grinding stones where children can grind up dried corn -- so, I would avoid if you have allergies to corn!

This is the perfect spot for young kids and toddlers. We got an annual membership my son loved it so much. We have been twice and have spent over 2 hours there both times. Very entertaining and educational.

Love this place very hands on for the whole family . great place to take a picnic lunch with you . relatively cheap no time limits. Animals to touch and pet. A pretty garden to walk thru interesting events are also held here . project making events. The staff is very nice .

If you havent been here since the newest exhibits were put in place, then youre really missing out. I love bringing my young children here. We can spend hours here without even trying.

Its set up like a small business. Great place for a child to learn and grow. One suggestion is a neat little café near the picnic area for children to eat theme related snacks. Parking is limited, so plan accordingly.

Wonderful for kids or your inner kid. Lots of hands on science and nature activities, very affordable. Beautiful garden to walk through, with information about many plants. A few animals too.

This is a sweet little place for kids to play and explore with indoor and outdoor interactive exhibits. Good for all ages. It kept our kids busy for a few hours, and they could have played longer!
