Very hilarious! Its improv comedy so its not scripted which makes it even funnier. All the actors are very talented. It really takes skill to be funny on the fly without any lines.And price is super reasonable. They dont force you to buy two drinks like all other comedy clubs.When you give them suggestions, try to think of creative words that normal people dont think of

We have hosted a private show for my wifes birthday celebration at Made Up Theater. All of our guest including kids had a very good time in watching the show of Sean & his team. From cast of Made Up Theater we learned about improv comedy show & its game. Looking forward to attend their regular Friday/Saturday show whenever we want to have good laugh.

The Made Up Theatre Spooktacular this past weekend was my first ever improv show, and wow, was it hilarious! First off, the setting is a little gem of a theater, which makes for an intimate but comfortable setting. As for the show itself, the games and the movie the cast performed were outstanding; even my husband, who has seen Second City in Chicago, thought the performance was fantastic. I would definitely recommend checking out one of Made Up Theatres shows soon! I know well be coming back!

Ive been to watch improv at the Made Up Theatre on three different events, and each was a lot of fun. Think Whos Line is It for regular improv which is Friday, an amazing complete, improvised play on Saturday and then a New Years Eve special show which really started our year right. At first the audience was older, probably because former ticket holders from Broadway theatre were given complimentary tickets but now the crowd is a broad mix, with a lot of couples and small groups. They take input from the audience, and no matter what is suggested, they come up with hilarious spins and amazing little twists. Its different performers each time, so you dont feel like youre seeing the same show and it is incredibly affordable at $20 bucks a ticket with a discount for newbies. I took a crowd of twenty-somethings, my own pals (late fifties) and even my dad whos getting up there. Everyone had a great time and plans to go back. This is one of the easiest, fun evenings in Fremont, dont miss it!

Good fun for a good price. There is audience participation, but is almost always voluntary and not over the top. They have candy and ice cream for purchase before the show or during intermission.If you dont want any mature themes or want to bring the kids, they also have a PG set every week during the day on Sunday. Would recommend for a fun night out

A fantastic place to enjoy a plethora of laughs and knee slapping activities. It can get rather packed quickly, so if you plan on coming in a large group make sure to come early! The pricing for the amount of entertainment is perfect and even the concession goods. While Ive been to many improv shows (acts, plays, etc), I felt this was the most intimate and authentic show Ive been too.

We were in town for a concert over the weekend but had the Friday night before free. Found this place sort of randomly on line and gave it a try. We had so much fun and laughed so hard. These guys are so animated and have so much energy. Loved it! Will definitely go again when Im back in town.

These guys were really funny.. however only 3 of the 5 people were actually performing... the other 2 seemed out of it. However, this place is awesome, the performers are good at improv, and they do free showings on Saturday nights at 10 pm (seating is first come first serve basis so get there atleast 15 mina before showtime). Will definitely go back here again.

Tickets are affordable and these guys are clever as hell. Easily my most memorable experience was getting them to improvise Anime tropes for one of there games. The crowd was so hyped and they leaned into it very well.If it helps, I have a friend who performs improve and he takes me to a lot of shows, and the ones at Made Up Theater are always amongst my favorites

You definitely will have good time everytime. If you want to be in, you can. But they dont pick you if you dont want. Perfect place to bring your family, cousins, date and grand parents. Ice cream 2 for 5 dollars. They are moving to new place/ Washingron and Fremont blvd on top of Bean Scene cafe in 2 weeks.

Been doing improv comedy for 10+ years. These guys both know their stuff and are fantastic improvisors. Ive also taken the classes they offer and its both very fun and educational.

This was my first ever going to an improv show. One the best experiences in my life. If you are looking for a good laugh, then dont hesitate to see a show here.

I was hesitant to come to this because, as we all know, most improv is terrible and also weird and cultish. I didnt see enough to know if these guys were weird and cultish, but the show I saw (a Friday whose line style show) was definitely entertaining. All these actors are very entertaining to the extent that I sort of want to be one of them. 5/5

Not the best place to go if youre looking for a true comedy show. I believe this is more of a show from people going to Comedy School but it was fun to do for an evening. Not sure Ill go back though

These guys put on a great show. Ill be back to see their other options.We saw their Laugh Track City show (which starts at 8). The audience was mostly older people, which did have some impact on the audience participation sections. The performers were really high energy, had fun with each other, and kept me entertained consistently.As others noted, the theater is in a warehouse area, but theyve done a good job with making it work. It is very small, so when you go in, you should push all the way down the aisle since it will eventually get crowded.The concessions are quite reasonable: water $1, soda $2, cookies $2 candy/ice cream $3.

My husband and I didnt know what to expect from the industrial-looking surroundings, but we were so glad we made the trip. It was so much fun. The theater fits 30-35 people, but its a good way for the actors to keep the audience involved. Must see!

Most hilarious free event for a weekend

What a wonderful evening of entertainment!! Brilliant play and flawless performances at the Made Up Theatre. We saw Gruesome Playground Injuries last night and were stunned by the performances of Bobby August, Jr. and Maria Candelaria. When a movie or a play is based on a relationship, there is a magic that is needed for the play to be successful. Bobby and Maria had that magic last night. Their enjoyment and affection for each other was palpable. The choreography and physical management of the stage was energetic and well done, easily absorbed as part of the play itself -the actors changing clothes in front of us just as we are all always changing over the years. There are only two performances left, so I dont know if there are even tickets left, but just try, you wont be sorry. Otherwise, Made Up Theatre is one of our favorite places to go for improv comedy on a regular basis. The comedians are funny and talented. You wont be sorry.

By far the absolute best Improv venue in the greater San Francisco area. Cozy theatre, versatile stage, adequate free parking, tickets very reasonably priced. The owners are passionate about their craft, performing on stage & teaching courses as well. Private parties & fundraisers are also available. Love the Whose Line Is It Anyway? type games involving audience participation. The Wheel of Genre on Saturday night is a 45 minute, completely improvised movie based on a category (romance, sci fi, horror, Western, etc) chosen at random. Entertainment at its best performed by talented actors who clearly love what theyre doing. Ive brought friends & family to Made Up Theatre and theyre never disappointed. Cannot give enough positive feedback on this place. Far more impressive than other Improv venues, and Ive seen several.

Admittedly my first experience to an improv comedy club, but have always been a fan of the format. My wife recommended we try it and we happened on a Groupon for it. The cast are definitely pros and are full of passion for the craft - they are definitely and rightfully the highlight of this place. The space is small (20+ seating) facing a stage, but it makes it intimate and more in-your-face. Nugget: They also give you a free ticket by email if you sign up for their mailing list in situ.
