Rustic resort with great views of the surrounding mountains. A bar, game room, sun room, arcade, indoor/outdoor pool, jacuzzi, and workout room are a very good plus! Every employee we encountered were kind and enjoyed conversation! Only issue was that the basketball and tennis courts have essentially been abandoned

This place is lovely, went here for a mini vacation with others and we loved it. A view into the slopes is nice the sun hits well and they have a lot of activities to do. The night sky full of stars is lovely. Reason why I give it four stars is that the cell service is terrible but they have wifi so that makes up for the bad reception. It also looks like theyre not keeping up with this place. The inside is adorable but the pool needs to be kept up so does the tennis court and the basketball court. Its slowly being run down but lets hope they bring this place back up to five stars.

In desperate need to updating. Carpeting, & furnishings look to be 1980s. one of the elevators kept getting stuck, which is very small as it is and caused alot of anxiety in me and my grandkids! lower level, where game room is smelled like urine. outdoor pool was closed for repair. restaurant was closed due to covid, but other restaurants in the area were open. no a/c. oven fan was hanging upon arrival, they did fix it quickly. they said not to come to the office if we need anything but to call but we called several times and no one answered! not very friendly!

We stayed in a very cozy chalet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The water was always hot, and we had no issue with the heating or fireplace. There were plenty of games to play and books to read, but the WiFi is not suitable for gaming or streaming...so be prepared to use it just for social media and emails. The staff members are not very knowledgeable about skiing, which was hard for us as newbies, but we were able to figure it out just fine. The property itself is beautiful and is not far from hiking trails and places to eat.I would DEFINITELY come here again in either winter or summer.

This hotel is very out dated. It was built in the 1940’s and looks like they haven’t updated anything. The carpet in the rooms are very old and dirty. They still have tube tv’s in the rooms. The heating system is electric heat and is terrible to maintain a comfortable temperature. The pool area is very dated and gross. They had one newer hot tub that was decent but the pool and spa were old and need a refresher. The game room and bar area again are very old and out dated. I think this place is over priced for the type of stay you get. It is in a very nice location over looking the ski mountain. Which is why they can charge the rates they have.

In fact, you can get to the entrance to artists bluff on foot from the resort. It is a timeshare resort, but does offer other lodging options.

All I can say is in my 25yrs of being a RCI member I have never experienced anything quite like this place. The absolute worst customer service . The place is run down .I WILL NEVER GO BACK! Its a real shame because location is great and it could be wonderful. I will warn you now ,If Peggy is at the front desk turn around and get out of there. This place has so many restriction . They do not want you to enjoy your self. I am posting a picture of the menu from the bar. It actually states all the food is pre cooked and frozen. Advertising the food will suck. They said they had so many complaints they had to do that. Also a pub that only sells beer and wine. Red / white or whats on tap. After a stay in this place you will need a stiff drink.

Mittersill Alpine Resort is very close, about a four-minute drive, to Cannon Mountain Ski Resort, which is a challenging mountain for skiing if youre an intermediate skiier. Im giving it a four-star rating because of its proximity to the ski hill. Mittersill Alpine Resort is a comfortable place to stay. The one bedroom unit had a king size bed and a pullout couch in the living room. The small galley kitchen was very well equipped. We didnt need to bring anything extra with us. There were two hot tubs, a small pool and a sauna, which were great after a day of skiing. Mittersill is a dated resort with an interesting history. The Barons Pub located on the premises was a fun night out. The area is close (a 10-minute drive) to Franconia Notch State Parks hiking trails, including the short jaunt to The Basin. It was close (20 minute drive) to the New Hampshire Ice Castles venue; 30 minutes away from Bretton Woods Ski Resort and the Mount Washington Hotel; and about a 10-minute drive to Franconia Village for grocery shopping.

There is a puzzle table, video machines, air hockey and ping pong! Mittersill has an outdoor pool and an indoor pool, 2 jacuzzis, a very simple gym and a sauna. Girlfriend and I stayed for a weekend. When we talked to the girl at booking we thought we were getting a fairly small room, especially for the price we were paying. When we checked in, we had to ask the staff if there was some mistake because it was much larger than we expected. There is no air conditioning, but we never felt that it was needed. They had wall mounted fans that worked well if we needed them, too. Everything was very clean and well-organized. The pools and spa area were really nice as well. I hate that I’m required to give even 1 star. This place is a dump and should be closed down. The staff doesn’t want guests there, they are horribly rude. Especially Peggy, Jessica, Ashley and Cassie. I called because the WiFi wasn’t working and was told too bad, each room gets its own code to use and ours wasn’t working so I was then called a liar.My 10 year old went to the front desk to ask if anyone turned in a pair of sneakers and was told by Peggy that she doesn’t talk to kids and to tell his parents to come down to the desk. Most of the lights in our room didn’t work and the sliding door to the balcony didn’t lock. There were stains all over the rug and couch and our sheets were dirty. I called room service for sheets and I was told there were no extras. We used our one allotted roll of toilet paper and when I asked for another roll I was told $3 per roll would be charged to my credit card on file. Same with dish soap and paper towels. They are very unfriendly and make you feel very unwelcome. If a hotel doesn’t want guests then why stay open?I asked for ice to pack my fridge food into my cooler for my 4 hour ride home and was told I can’t have any because it was my check out Day. (Check out is at 10 and it was 7:30 when I asked) then I asked for a manager I was told by Ashley that she doesn’t need to disclose when the manager will be in and that my only business that I need to know is that check out is at 10.Usually the “customer is always right” but not here. And you aren’t a customer here, you are a burden. Please find somewhere else to stay.

We have just spent 5 beautiful days at the Mittersill Alpine Resort. We have had our time share for over 20 yrs. Love our one bedroom unit. Go there for the quiet and restful atmosphere and the view of Franconian Noch . Gorgeous!! My main issue has always been to many rules and regulations!! If you have children, quiet time is from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m!! Probably will not be going there to often anymore, my husband has vertigo and the altitude is an issue. Do not recommend this resort during summer. No Air Conditioning!! Fans only. We were there for 5 days did not see one person in hall or lobby to talk with. Made me feel like we were in the building alone, no security, little scary for me!! Front desk not friendly atmosphere. Dont bother with friendly conversation, not interested! Security on unit out dated. Still use chain lock instead of bolt and lock!

I cant say how the hotel looks or is run now, but as a child this was our long weekend hideaway from the city (Boston) and I remember it as idyllic -- the most gorgeous Bavarian style facade to the hotel, long rambling grass fields, set in the middle of nowhere -- a pond, animal sightings, etc. I would look into it, as I would anything these days, but I dont see how you can go wrong, unless youre looking for a large outdoor pool in summer - I think they only have a medium-size indoor pool.

I didnt wind up staying here, so take this review however you like. I called to book a room for one night in June. I asked the lady who answered if I had to make the reservation via the phone - most hotel sites have online booking. Her response was rude. I then asked about availability and she stated you had to book at least two nights. I guess they can demand this (and be rude) because they are always 100% occupied. My take: the setting makes this place popular. Certainly not the staff.

Been coming here since I was a child during the summer. The resort is quaint, with stunning views and a friendly atmosphere. I remember growing up here and having numerous activities planned every day for families. That level of service seems to have disappeared, with more of a heres your unit, thats about it type of atmosphere without regard to planned activities or programs at the resort. Not a horrible thing, as most families are probably sight-seeing during the day, but I have fond memories of making friends and taking part in fun activities at the resort. There is an outdoor and indoor pool, 2 whirlpools, a sauna, a small gym, a shuffleboard and a basketball court (along with a tennis court that hasnt been taken care of in many years). So there are things to do on-site to help wind down after a day of hiking or amusement parks. There is quite a bit of history to this resort, as it was a popular ski resort, especially in the late 50s and 60s. Both Lucille Ball and Bette Davis were visitors to the resort, and Queen Elizabeth also came here on vacation once. As Cannon Mtn declined, so did the resorts upscale charm, but they have managed to hold on and transform themselves into more of a nestled getaway for families. As Cannon Mtn makes a comeback as a ski resort, Im sure Mittersill will continue to grow and thrive once again.Overall, if you want a quiet place to set up a base to go explore the White Mtn area, Mittersill is quiet, clean and friendly place to choose. I think it would be great to see them start up a family activities program again during the week, or even get the Baron Lounge going again for families to have a nice restaurant option in the area, but the absence of these things is more nostalgic than anything.
