Miles upon miles of trails, mostly through woods. Come prepared with bug spray and a good attitude towards dogs and youll be a happy camper. Dont come here if you dont like dogs - it is a popular off-leash destination.

Great state park, especially for dog owners. There’s a multitude of trails, some through the woods and some through wide open fields. They are well maintained and well marked for the most part. Almost everyone you see will have a dog, and if you make it to Eagle Pond there’s an unofficial dog park with lots of pups running around off leash. It does seem to get pretty crowded along the main trails, but if you veer off you’ll find yourself alone in nature. Well, besides the occasional house or farm!

This is my go to hiking area, it’s not too far from where I live and it’s a hiking spot that’s not too intense and not too mild, so it’s a perfect medium. On top of it there’s a nice dog park and pond that is relaxing to be by

An old favorite. We used to come here more when we lived closer, but I always love it when I come and discover a trail I hadnt been to before. It can be noisy and a little chaotic on days when there are lots of dogs running off leash, but usually they stay together near the pond.

I like the north side of Callahan better than south because of fewer people and dogs... however you will sometimes see horses & trailriders on either side. There are water features on both sides, lots of trails, wildlife, & letterboxes. Callahan borders many lovely spots and has ample parking. The south side is generally better for winter walks because it is well-traveled, relatively less hilly, and trails are a bit better marked. It does get muddier though in spring. The online trail map comes in handy until you are familiar with the area. The Bay Circuit Trail crosses through the north section on it way to Marlborough & Southborough, which is a lovely day hike if you start in Sudbury near Tippling Rock, traversing Callahan in Framingham. You can make a nice 10 mile hike out of it and pass some historic places.

Lovely park with long, winding trails. Its a great place for letting dogs off leash and there is a huge dog walking community that comes here. Gets a bit busy on the weekends, and their parking lots fill up and are full of cavernous potholes. There could be more done to care for this park but it is a great place to go.

This park is great for everything. There are excellent trails for biking, running, walking the dog, and simply exploring. There are usually other people around and it is very popular for dog owners. Fantastic for afternoon walks or outdoor activities. Always make sure you have a leash for your dog because it can get a bit crazy when they all are running around.

Mountain biking at Callahan is beginner to intermediate level, hardtails would suffice. The north side is a bit more challenging, but if you want anything beyond flowy single/double track look elsewhere (Vietnam or Pisgah are both better options and close by). The trails are well maintained and kept free from debris but youll contend with lots of trail traffic on the south side.

Large tract, beautiful land, well marked trails and plenty of them to choose from. Mixed forest of hard and soft wood with both new and old. Theres a nice pond to find and we saw signs of wildlife, but on a warmish spring Saturday, there were a lot of mountain bikers. The animals were probably in hiding.

As I have been coming here for over 10yrs, I am impressed by how much cleaner it is these days. And by cleaner, I mean less dog poop. Great for exercise or leisurely hiking through the woods. There are a lot of dogs off leash, so be mindful when walking through the open area in the middle.

Its fine. If you live nearby and want to get outside, this is a good place to come, but if you arent near, Id look for somewhere closer as its fairly generic. I was told the views were spectacular, perhaps Im spoiled but I didnt think they were anything special. Im always happy to be outside, and this place offers tons of meandering trails, which is wonderful, especially in the winter, but I wasnt blown away by the park itself. Its just a good, standard and accessible place to get outdoors in an otherwise fairly suburban area. There is dedicated lot parking but it might be tough if theres an event or group outing occurring, FYI.

Came on a snow covered and cold day so was a lot quieter than it would normally be. Nice combination of trails and some open space. Nothing too special, I can see it being a good place to bring your dog. Otherwise I would not normally travel out of my way to go here.

A perfect place for dog owners. Not the greatest place to go if you dont like dogs or prefer quiet and mind ones business. Most dogs run free unleashed here and they will interact with humans (as well as each other) in various ways. This is particularly notable for parents with small children.

So many different trails here. You can find easy or challenging hikes, runs, walks or rides. Anywhere from a short walk to 10-20mi. Also many of the trails allow dogs to be off leash, so its a great place to take the puppys for a walk or run!

The park breaks into two main areas South and North of Edmunds road with backpacker trail crossing it. The South has more open fields and dogs. The North has rocky trails and extends into Marlboro. Its easy to find 4-10 mile runs without looping over that same territory. Backpacker to bear paw is a good run in the north.

Go with Caution. Im a dog lover(background). I was sitting on the side of the road while a German shepherd sneaked over in what I see as half hunting mode. The owner was not far away and wasnt concerned at all. Somehow it got around one meter away from my back. I watched enough Wild Life shows to know the risk of show my back and neck. So I turned around to face the dog. Meanwhile it got more serious and took my shirt on the ground, and started shaking it around violently. I knew it was no ordinary dog that I usually saw around here. So I started questioning the owner about the dog behavior. She was still not concerned and slowly walked towards me, saying it might just want to play. Honestly I didnt feel she cared about my safety at all. Now the dog barked more intensely, and at one point almost got to my leg. All those time I stood still and tried to ask the owner about the dog behavior, indicating taking it away from me. She cared less, and slowly and half-assingly leashed the dog.I also saw a post on the entrance tree saying that the kid was a hurt by a dog whose owner was unknown and she had to be quarantined for 6 weeks for potential disease risk.I just hope some dog owners can be more responsible and care about the people a bit more, instead of just their dogs.

It is a beautiful place for a walk or hike. Lots of different pathways make it a very nice place to go. However, there are a lot of unleashed dogs all around, especially near the pond. Unfortunately some dog owners throw their bagged dog poop on the edges of the paths. Pretty gross! Please dog owners throw your dogs poop in appropriate containers.

Lovely place to walk, and pond for dogs to swim. Downside: encountered a male mountain biker today who chose to deficate into the very pond that all dogs swim in. Left a large pile of disgustingness floating in the pond. Disturbing, given number of signs around about cleaning up after dogs. Dogs don’t poop in the swimming hole... let your dogs swim with care, and wash them once home.
