Visually, this place is amazing. One of the more stunning escape rooms Ive been to. But where it fell seriously short was the lack of puzzles. Most rooms are going to have 15 or more puzzles to solve in an hour. This one is more like 5. It was almost too simple. Its made for the wow factor, not for the challenge. Great for first timers, I would say, but seasoned vets will feel it lacking.

Went here for the first time this weekend for a birthday party. This was an awesome experience for me and my family. Jordyn had us hooked in 20000 leagues since the beginning. She was so good that my 6 year old started crying thinking it was real but then she started getting into the activity and had the most fun out of all of us. This will be something that we will always remember, coming together as a family to figure our way out. Simon was an awesome special agent in the carpet room engaged with the kids and was very patient with us first timers.

My friend and I went through the Espionage adventure today and had a blast. The adventure was engaging and fun, and the tour guide, Simon, did a really great job keeping us excited and involved. He was really helpful too, at parts where my friend and I had no idea what to do. The adventure took roughly 45 minutes and we left feeling great. I definitely recommend going to 5 Wits for your birthday party or group outing if youre looking for something for all ages!

Well it depends which one you go to I went to 20,000 leagues and my group was with a bunch of kids who took over the event so if you are going to go you need to go exclusively adults only group The event itself was geared or set up towards younger children The act itself was rather childish could not wait for it to be over did not enjoy it at all! It was a waste of my time and money.

We just spent $100 to watch some teenage boy steal the show. I had 2 kids and there was another family there with 2 younger kids. No one had an opportunity to participate because the other teenage boy took over everything. I feel the facilitator should have done something about it to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone and not just the young teenage couple. It was a total waste of $100!!!!!!!!! I could not be more disappointed!

Nice place for kids up to 12-13 years. We were put with 2 more families to get to 12 folks they need. Espionage was fun but a little short. The guide was nice and mentioned that there are 5 different endings so we may have gone longer if we solved few more things. You can buy both for $5 extra and use the second one within an year. They have a waiting area upstairs with lockers, coat racks and bathrooms.

TL;DR no intellectual stimulation, good production value. We went as a group of 14, with the adventure person limit set at 15, which is the fire code limit. This is already too much as it is, from a spatial constraint perspective, but also from a puzzle perspective. There is only ever one puzzle going on at once, so that means all 14 people are concurrently squished together, peering over each others shoulders trying to see whats going on.Not only was it a bad experience without them capping the group size, but the puzzles themselves were never really puzzles to begin with. There is always a guide that leads you from room to room, telling you exactly what you need to do. Once told, it isnt difficult to figure out-- a lot of them are trial and error type solutions, and others are simple children-like logic games (similar example: fit this square peg in the square hole. Fit this sized item into its appropriately sized place. At the end of the 2 adventures we did, 4 of us talked afterwards and were all on the same page on how we felt about the experience. One thing that makes this place stand out from other escape-room-esque establishments (whether good or bad is up to you) is that the employees who work as guides are actors. They pretend to be a character in the adventure youre in.The best part of the whole thing is how much effort they went into building the physical environment around the puzzle youre breaking. The rooms are pretty cool and well-themed.

Its a great place for kids who are interested in problem solving and adventures. The place features two scenarios one of which is an espionage adventure where the kids are spies and the other is the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea adventure based on Jules Vernes book. This place is great for having a birthday party as well.

My friends and I did the Espionage room. It was fun and the room sets were interesting and creative. I found The Great Escape Room in providence to be more engaging and intense, as there is a clock on the wall that times you the whole time, so you have that sense of urgency. The one in providence had tons of riddles to figure out constantly throughout the whole time, something 5 wits was lacking. I found myself just standing around at times. That being said, it is still a fun place to go with a bunch of friends and I still recommend it!

Disappointing. Did both adventures last week. The room aesthetics are great, the puzzles are not overly challenging. My biggest issue was having a group of 4 adults (ages 36-41) joined with 3 kids (aged around 10 or 11). On the website and at the location it clearly say smaller groups will be joined with other small groups of a similar age and experience. How is joining 4 adults with 3 pre-teens considered similar age or experience? Regrettably, this had a major influence on our experience and should not have happened. My only regret now is not talking to management while there...we just wanted to leave by the end.

This was actually my first experience at an escape room establishment. They have two different options available right now. We did the espionage scenario, and were put into a group that was doing a birthday celebration. The kids were all in the 7-10 range, so it didnt go as smoothly as possible.I had a good time and will be going back for the 18+ nights which are Thursday, Friday and Saturday after 5pm. When you buy your ticket, you can get a voucher for the other scenario, good for up to a year, for only 5 dollars. A good deal if you will be back. They gave seating and lockers upstairs, which is very convenient. Theres also a small gift shop. This place is kid friendly and the staff were all very nice. Great for birthday parties as well.As a first experience with escape rooms, I had a good time and will be coming back.

This place is AMAZING! In the 20,000 Leagues adventure, the puzzles involve lots of different parts, like rods, so everyone always has something to do. The finale was incredible. Throughout the adventure I tried to convince myself that this was not real. I am not in the submarine. I couldnt.Espionage is so fun! I like how it doesnt matter if you touch the lasers, you dont fail, which is good for people who have trouble on laser mazes. The finding keycards room was great, and the scene with the bunker that turned a bomb room into a disaster room? That was amazing!Every room has custom soundtracks and great puzzles. While the puzzles are definitely easy and this experience is geared more towards the kids, thats the point of 5 Wits, so you shouldnt get angry if the puzzles were too easy. The rooms are so fun and there are so many different things to do that its fun playing them multiple times! Just as much fun as the first time. Our guides were great. Worth over two hours of driving. Highly recommend. One last thing! This is an edit as of Covid times. The majority of the bad reviews are either because the people didnt know what to expect and rated it badly because of the easy puzzles, or some kids took over their fun. While I must say this is geared towards the kids, I get your annoyance. Two things to say about that. First is, dont rate 5 Wits badly for your own experience. Its not their fault, and they spend millions of dollars on these things. Second thing is, as of Covid times, all games are private, which I must say I enjoy, because you can do everything yourself. 5 Wits still somehow gets business out of it.If you are still reading this review, stop! Book your tickets now! This is an insane experience! Ive done all adventures in Foxboro and Albany, and the only one I havent done is the non-guided Espionage. Ok! Im done now! Book those tickets!

Production value is super high, very immersive. All puzzles are guided, meaning there is an actor in the room progressing the story and giving hints when needed. While immersive, the puzzles didnt feel very challenging. We exited the room and were told they only give you a credit for a return, which we can not use because he is scared of going again. In this case we should have been refunded our money. Weve done escape rooms before, and this is similar but not quite the same experience. The sets and room decor and production value are much better and more grand than other escape rooms. They are very attractive and set the mood perfectly. The admission price is much better than at other escape rooms. We were someone disappointed that they mix groups, so you will be on your adventure with other people. But they make up for that by having a guide go with you, who sets the mood and helps you along with the puzzles.

Went with my 9 year old daughter recently and did both adventures which were a lot of fun. Abby, I think, did the first one which was the spy adventure and the pace was good, with a lot of puzzles to solve and things to find. There are a number of outcomes for this one for replay value. The second was the 20,000 Leagues adventure, hosted by Nicole, who also was great. Enough tips to get people going and kept the pace nicely with the puzzles to solve.Neither adventures were scary for the younger kids but there were a few moments of darkness.Anyway, doing the two adventures is a great deal, but you dont have to do them both on the same day if you buy the two, as you can do the second one within a year of purchase, which we didnt realise at the time.

This was so fun! I did both the Espionage and 20,000 Leagues attractions. The former took slightly under an hour, and the later took about an hour. Due to the rain, I was the only one there for both - so my experiences may not reflect your own. I thought the Espionage one was the most inventive, even though parts were obviously for a younger crowd. I loved the bug sweeper part, and the guy was a great actor. There are supposedly 5 endings, obviously I only got one. Not one of the two scenarios I thought, honestly. Great set design/ room design. I loved the lasers portion the most - I felt like a spy!20,000 Leagues was longer and more involved. However, I didnt like the heavy lifting portion of one of the puzzles. The leaking pipes were a nice touch. This felt more oriented towards a slightly older crowd than Espionage, though that might have been because my guide didnt do much besides stand there unless I got really confused. This one needs a decent grasp of world geography, and I assume knowing the book helps a lot.Overall, while Leagues is more involved, and perhaps better for a large adult group, I did prefer Espionage. I just wish it was longer, or ended how I thought it would.

Too many people at one time. Kids couldnt do tasks because they couldnt get a turn. Staff not trained well in dealing with children. When asked for volunteers, one child speaks up and saysme, host says who yelled me? Child gets all excited that they are going to be picked and host says definitely, not you. Child did not scream, just spoke up because they wanted a turn. These are kids excited about the adventure. Host embarrassed child and ruined the whole experience. Dont ask for volunteers if you dont want excited children. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Costs too much, too short, too crowded and staff needs training in people skills and working with children...

If this review was based solely on the rooms themselves and the “cool factor” for our kids age ranged 5-13 then it would be higher... the staff was RIDICULOUS. We were a group of 8 and were with another group of 2. We got there right at 10 due to traffic and throughout the entire adventure the staff, Amanda, kept saying “ well you missed the beginning while we were waiting” or “we had plenty of time in the museum before you got here.”.. “They were here first so they should get to go”.. she then proceeded to let the one child in the other party do all of the adventures while telling our kids (6 of them) to get out of the way so he could figure it out. At one point she went up to my 13 year old daughter and told her to stop touching things (first of all we are in a room where you figure things out and the kids are supposed to touch things correct) and then told her “I’m here for a reason Honey”... DO NOT talk to my kid like that! The 20,000 league rooms were cool but she made my kids feel they were walking on eggshells and they were afraid to get involved. Nuts! We then had a different guide for the next adventure and she was pretty much the same way! Don’t touch that. You shouldn’t be near there! My 5 year old set off the alarm with the laser maze and she said “come on.. we can’t be setting of the alarms. We are going to get caught and the lasers are going to go through your skin” to which he in turn cried his eyes out for being reprimanded in a “fun” environment and I had to leave the challenge with him. She also ended up telling the kids to “too bad give up” on one of the challenges because she wanted to move on. I loved the ideas and concepts behind this place but the staff have NO CLUE how to deal with kids! It should be an exploratory environment! They should have fun with their jobs rather than scold my kids for exploring, touching or trying to have fun!

We spent most of our time watching although we had already figured out the answers but felt that it was their game and we were not allowed to participate. My staff and I came here as part of our holiday party (yes, we know its months late). While we collectively had fun as a group, I was slightly underwhelmed by the complexity of the puzzles. The individual leading us through the submarine in the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea tended to give away a little bit too much information which over simplified the challenge. If you have any understanding of geography or music (or have experience with puzzle based video games), it was fairly simple to figure out one of the rooms without any guidance. The person leading us through the spy mission seemed to be challenged with a more focused group who was less eager to run around like children. Although I wasnt expecting great acting, there should be a little variance in how these events are run between an adults and childrens group. I honestly had more fun trying to find security cameras in each room, and trying to find other things in the experiences. I was expecting less of the staff member integrating themselves into the group, and more of the group figuring their way through the puzzles. The overall atmosphere was very fitting for both of the stories and definitely helped with the immersive experience. I have to say I was fairly impressed with both sets. Would I do this again? Eh. Maybe. Id be more likely to do so if it didnt cost $25 a person.
