Do not waste your money. Tickets are $9/person (except babies). Exhibits are outdated, and sub-par at best. Childrens area is completely shut down, and the slide was closed. The only thing my 3 year old enjoyed was the water table located on the lower level- which is not an actual water table.

Over 50% of the stuff is closed off but they still charge you the same price. I also went 25 years ago it was better back then, now it is just lame. The kids were wanting to leave after 15 minutes and go to the park. We had much more fun at the park at 10.00 a person its not worth it. We wasted 80.00 never again.

A great choice for a rainy summer day, our two young lady guests loved it! The slanted room and two story slide were their favorites and mine is the Ice Age mastodon skeleton. Theres also an exhibit area specifically for children age 7 and under.

This place has not changed since I been here as a younger child over 20 years ago, the price of $10 is TOO much to pay for this place. Please upgrade your facility if you wish to charge that much. It feels and looks like a run-down 1980s daycare. There is nothing FUN about this place that is supposed to be for kids. My kids were bored here after 10 minutes, since they did everything in that time frame. Save your money and take them to a museum in Chicago.

TRUTH HURT REVIEWSorry to say this but when you charge people money maybe you should keep things working.First thing as you walk in you’ll notice that for some odd reason they are letting you know by a large sign.... this is privately owned! Not sure why that’s posted but OK.Next I would be ok with only 75% of the things working if you gave me 25 % off the price.Lame ... most things would be functional if they would just place a simple tool box in one of the two girls hand that’s doing nothing at the front desk and have one of them use it.

I was impressed to say the least with Fort Wayne Science Central. Im extremely familiar with the Childrens Museum of Indianapolis and have been to the Smithsonians and big Chicago museums. That being said, theres something about the science centers that have me more entertained for longer than the other museums. I think its the hands-on aspect of learning science that intrigues me so much. There is such an incredible amount to learn for all ages at this museum

The membership is an outstanding value since it gets you into other museums like those in Columbus or Chicago for no charge. Id skip the museum itself - the great majority of the museum is old and tired. As far as I can tell, they have only updated one major exhibit since 1995. Its long past time for a total renovation.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been there but I really enjoyed it when I went. I went several times when I was a child and it was always very fascinating to me. I am sure a lot has changed since I was there because it seemed like they were always changing things when I went and that keeps it more interesting and keeps children wanting to come back. Go check it out I’m sure your children would be glad you did.

Exhibit out of order that about sums this place up. DO NOT BRING CHILDREN YOUNGER THAN 10. There is nothing for them to do. They advertise a 2 story slide but you have to be 50 inches tall to ride. I wandered around for an hour trying to stay positive but everything was dirty, broken or not age appropriate for small children. When I voiced that it was upsetting that my children could not ride the slide, the staff were like oh well we got your money. Never once did anyone point us to the dirty, toddler slide hidden behind fish tanks full of dead things. Fun! At least the bathrooms were clean.

My girlfriend and I took my daughter and my grandson to celebrate 3 of our birthdays. For the price of admission which seemed reasonable we were treated to many displays which did not work. Overall I must regret to say that Science Central is poorly maintained. We left sooner than we had originally planned because it became very boring for lack of anything better to say about our experience. What is Science Central impressing into the impressionable minds of the children?

I would describe SC as just okay. Many of the exhibits were old and broken. Several of them just looked and felt gross (the vinyl blocks to stack as an arch was one that still stands out to me). The slide was a huge disappointment to our 7 and 5 year olds as you must be 50 inches tall to slide down. I understand safety, but they slide down bigger slides at local parks! The space center was very fascinating! The bicycle exhibit (ride the bike, see the skeleton move) was broken, also disappointing as wed been talking about anatomy in our homeschool lessons. The mastodon skeleton was interesting! Overall, it just felt a bit grimy and unclean. Our kids enjoyed themselves, so we will return. We borrowed a pass from our local library, but I would not pay to get in should the pass be on loan to another patron. The facility could use lots of updates! When asked to compare to the Indianapolis Childrens Museum, there really is no comparison at all. SC is cheaper upon admission, but we would prefer to make the drive to Indy and pay there for the 5 stories of working, clean exhibits.

The reason I went to Science Central today was because it was my daughters second birthday. I just took her there because I figured she would like it. I used to go when I was a child probably 20 years ago or so. The place looks exactly the same as I remember growing up. They do have a area for children 7 and under can play. There is a water table from giant blocks a piano and a Play Place house kind of like McDonalds but better. There are other hands on activities that children can do throughout Science Central. 2 years old is great for the kids center. shes still a little too young to do the rest of the activities that they had but it is a good couple hours to burn for kids can run around touch things and see how they work. We stayed for about 2 hours good time.

I have been to Science Central 3 times with my two children. My kids seem to like it but I cannot say the same. For the price you have to pay, it really is not worth it in my opinion. Maybe 5 or 6 years ago it would have been fun but this place is in a serious need of an upgrade. Most things are worn or do not work. There is a general dirty feeling you get as you start walking around like the place hasnt been cleaned in weeks. Over by the water table and the little aquariums there is no one to help and the water table barely works. These of course are just my observations.. My kids dont seem to mind so maybe its worth it for them. I just wish that they would use some of the money they are charging to upgrade. It could be a really cool place for kids and parents if maybe they made some changes.

Weve visited Science Central several times over the past 3 years. Our children are 6 & 4. Their favorite activity is the water table. It is a little small and could be updated but they still love it. They also love the animal section. They have a ton of rocks and fossils to look at. The other activities are hit or miss. Some are great but others are outdated. The solar system theater is nice and updated. There isnt much to see in the bottom level but they do change out the one room every couple months which is really nice. Overall it took us a little over an hour to see everything.

This place was ok. My child is 2 and she liked doing a few exhibits-I was actually surprised at how many were broken yet still out to use no signs or anything. The play area was ok, some things didn’t look very clean and the water area didnt work properly. I don’t know if maybe the objects they had in there were too much for the small stream, but nothing that she put on the river moved down it just got stuck.

Google made me give Science Central at least 1 star, otherwise it would be 0. Half of the displays were broken. The moon jump was a joke, your kid basically gets to kind of bounce in place because they couldnt put another child on the other side, because shocker it was broke. Understandably things can break, but according to the employee it had been broken for over 6 months. There are pictures of children being able to interact with water creatures, but dont be fooled, they cant. I guess if you live in Ft. Wayne this is the absolute tops for a place to take your kids that isnt the childrens zoo, but I found it very lacking. Also the kid volunteer was very rude when my eight year old accidentally brush the surface of the water while a crab was being described. My son even apologized before being chided by this entitled little punk. There are thousands of better things to do with your kids than this overpriced joke of an attraction. It was highly recommended to me for some reason and we drove two hours to get here. Just wait for the Childrens Zoo to be open. It is a good attraction, while this is just sad and should be shut down, and the building should be destroyed to get rid of the horrible memories of this sad, sad place.

Thank goodness I called or this would have been a complete mess, and not just a total let down.

This place is really outdated and the exhibits are run down and broken. Not very inspiring for young people. Not sure why this is like this but visited yrs ago and they have the same exhibits. It looks like they have invested little money in the place. Lithographs are rubbing off and peeling. Missing pieces. The exhibits are not very current with technology either. Such a disappointment. It is touted as a best place for hands on in Fort Wayne everywhere-- maybe they are putting all their money in advertising instead of the exhibits. Definitely not worth traveling to or the price of admission. Basically just an indoor place to kill time.

For kids to walk around and not die from bored it worked out. For the parents who booked the place it wasnt so great. The staff did not communicate with each other. The woman who helped us at the desk seemed to be new; which wasnt the problem. She was even frustrated from her co-workers on their horrible communication. They did not walk us to our room. She directed us to a room that wasnt ours. We took all our stuff there and I even asked a worker could he make sure that it was ours. Of course this kid was on his phone. He didnt even get up to check. He said it was. Of course it wasnt. Even when we tried to book the place they were not descriptive. They were brief and said theyd supply drinks cupcakes and beverages for 15 kids. The room wasnt ready when we arrived. Which we did arrive early (not a problem for them) she let us bring gifts in but became unprofessional when she yelled at a family member who tried to drop a gift off in the room. We had the mad scientist theme. They give a free lab coat with that theme. The lab coat was more of a nurses scrub material. When I asked her what exactly was being provided since they did a crap job of letting us know. She told me they the 15 included kids and adults. They had nothing for parents. She had cups spread out and they had 1/4 of juice in them. I rushed to the store to get stuff that I thought was already provided. Also they made rockets and ice cream. The ice cream part was cool from the liquid nitrogen smoke but you could not see anything she was doing. She mixed everything in a black crop pot bowl. You couldnt even see what was going on. A lot of the science stations where closed. This is definitely a older science central. It needs a serious update.

Very unorganized and unprofessional. I booked a party for my daughters birthday, which was already a problem in the first place because they didnt answer the phone so I had to book it online and they didnt get back to me for almost two weeks so I had to call and the lady I spoke to couldnt answer any of my questions about the party itself. The day of the party I called earlier that day to make sure the room would be set 30 min before I arrived so I can set up the cake and gift bags. I got there and they sent me to a room saying it was mine. I didnt believe it was mine because the room was bigger than the party I paid for but we asked twice and they said it was so I set all of my things up in the room THEN they told us it wasnt our room. I had to move all of our stuff from downstairs to back upstairs to a room that was not done. I also paid for a birthday theme (which was Mad Scientist) and all it was, was science napkins and green slime on the table. No balloons or anything. Completely a waste of time and money for a place that only had SOME of its stations working.
