Uncle Bills is great! The staff is very friendly and quite knowledgeable regarding pet care. Im partial to the puppies, of which they have a revolving collection. They allow you to sit in one of four play pens and spend time with a dog or cat. Other animals including birds, ferrets, rabbits, amd reptiles are available to be held if desired. They do frown upon holding fish though...Great place and you can tell the staff are a bunch of animal lovers.

Wish I could rate zero stars. It is irresponsible to shop here when there are local shelters that need people to adopt animals. Though the staff here may have good intentions, and people who go there want to help the animals and give them good homes, by doing so you would be contributing to the mass industry of puppy mills and profiting animals over their well-being. Do not believe the lies that they are certified with reputable breeders, as no reputable breeder would sell their puppy here. Uncle Bills should be shut down but are probably meeting the bare minimum legally. This is why its important to reach out to city council and other areas that can enact ordinances or harsher regulations for animal safety, and what constitutes as poor conditions. What I witnessed in the store made me leave with tears in my eyes. I glanced at the back room as the door was open and cages were stacked on top of each other with puppies crying, unattended. In the visiting area, puppies were kept in cramped spaces where they can barely stand up or move/turn around. This is inhumane. This is abuse. I also spoke with an employee who said that, for liability reasons, pets can never be taken outside, so its possible theyve never set foot in the grass and wont do so until in their forever home.Do not shop here and promote puppy mills and unethical breeding. Animals should not be treated like products and there is already an overpopulation of them. Dogs and cats should NEVER be sold for profit. Support adoption and local shelters, not this store that uses emotional manipulation to make you feel guilty for not taking a two thousand dollar puppy home.

Wife and I needed a new aquarium and stand. She reviewed the ad then called the store for availability. The salesperson cut my wife off immediately and told her that “we don’t have aquariums on sale” then proceeds to tell her that we would need to wait a month or longer for the setup due to this.Well needless to say this isn’t the first time for rudeness from this store and will be my last. So we purchased elsewhere and spent an extra $300 in fish and supplies.Love my new 120g that uncle bills refused to sell me.

I love coming here to get my reptile supplies and Ive gotten four of my snakes from here. However, it seems like the fish and reptile department has been seriously understaffed for the past few months which I totally get because it can be hard for a retail store to keep an ideal staff size. The problem comes from my visit from a week ago. I got a little ball python that I looked over before purchasing and he looked fine overall. He looked like he was getting ready to shed (I could see a bit of blue on his eyes) but what I didnt notice was that his nose was bloody and damaged. It was hard to closely examine his face while I was there due to him being curled up, hence why the only thing I noticed was the blue on his eyes. Around his nose, as the picture shows, is what appears to be the start of shedding, but its not coming off clean and hes still struggling with it a week later. Additionally, whats harder to see in this picture is a small bit of damage to his nose that I believe was possibly caused by a mouse fighting back while feeding. Overall, pleasant experience, but animal care and monitoring needs to be improved, at least with the reptiles.

These guys have a pretty good variety of animals and supplies. Everytime we go its like a mini zoo trip for the kids

Its a great pet store: furry friends on display and ready to be held; clean fish tanks; and supplies for everyone. But the animals are very overpriced. I talked to a salesperson last week (October 2020) and a Golden Retriever was $4000.

This is where I go regularly for pet needs, they are great. I do feel bad for the babies who are locked up, and unfortunately they probably come from breeders or puppy mills.

I always end up coming here for my animals needs. If they dont have it I hit pet supplies plus.

The staff was friendly, the store was clean, and the selection of puppies is huge. We got our Aussie during the time of the stay at home order but despite the social distancing restrictions the staff was able to help us find the perfect pup to give a forever home! I also loved how every employee had to take the time to say goodbye to their little aussie boy, it absolutely warmed my heart and just goes to show how well they treat the pups there. I have recommended this place to a few friends searching for a new addition to their families .

In store the shopping experience is fantastic. My husband and I love this store with their variety of merchandise. Their online shopping experience, however, needs some improvement.There are only two filters available for dog food, those being brand and dogs life stage. It would be nice if we could filter product based on weight of the bag and protein type as well. Also. I cannot find the vitamins ANYWHERE online. Finally, notification via email of a pickup time doesnt work well. A text message would be preferred. Phone ordering would be great.We are going to have to go to Petsmart today, because the online ordering simply isnt working for me.

Decent selection of freshwater fish, just over priced! was in the store looking at fish for 20min and still no help or acknowledgement at all.

Very friendly staff and wide variety of pet supplies! More quality and variety than anywhere else in the fort. Can be a bit pricey but it is worth it for the quality! Puppies are very cute.

I visited with my students to get a pet. The staff was friendly and warm. They were incredibly kind and helpful. We got everything we needed to be sure our pet was comfortable and able to transition to our school from the store. Great folks. The prices were kinda high, but I guess all pet stores are like that.

You should be completly embarrassed of the state of your two coral display tanks. In my 20 years of reefing Ive never seen tanks in such bad shape, these displays are supposed to be a representation of your saltwater knowledge and they are in absolute shambles. Plus I waited back there for 20 minutes for someone to help me..nothing, I walked out.

Bought two of my dogs from here. Very high quality dogs and they stand behind their warranty. Both of my pups came with all of their papers and I was able to register them without any issues. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommended if you are looking for purebred dogs.

I’ve been coming to Uncle Bill’s since it opened. Well worth the 25 minute drive. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Wide variety of products. And I love being able to love on the animals while there. The store is always clean & well kept. While there, we buy for our fish, bearded dragon & both of our dogs. I love being able to take our Yorkie in the store with us as well.

Small choice in cat toys. Expensive. Love seeing the fish. Birds have small cages and so do the rabbits/ferrets/puppies. Puppies and kittens cost well over a thousand. DO NOT BUY CATS OR DOGS!! Research about puppy mills. ADOPT INSTEAD. If they say they do not get there cats or dogs they are lying. All petsores with expensive pups and kittens do.

The staff is always cheerful and willing to help. The variety of pet related supplies are always well stocked and the store is always maintained.

Been there four times to buy fish. Cant get anyone to wait on me! Worst customer service ever. Was there early today so it wouldnt be busy. Was there 30 minutes and still no service. Cash register person said I had to wait for the guy helping someone else. Several employees walking around doing nothing. After another 20 minutes and another, Ill be right with you, maam I finally slow walked to the door and the cashier person saidthank you and have a nice day as I walked out. Seriously??? Prices are higher than competitors around Fort Wayne. Supplies are pretty limited to mainly dogs and fish. Even though other pets are sold there. Staff although try to be helpful, lack knowledge of history and capability of handling of pets. I recommend spending a bit of time comparing at other local pet shopsAVAIN SHOPPERS Dont waste your time. Employees are not knowledgeable or able to handle the birds. The selection for food is horrible unless you feed yours a high fat seed diet and the toys are dramatically overpriced and very very limited

Worst Pet Shop Ive Ever Been to Everything Overprice and They Had a Puppy Eating 3x the Food The He/She Should Ever Have These People Should Give Up Put the Dogs For Adoption and Shut the Store Down!!!

We used to come in all the time when we had our bearded dragon to get the crickets, heat lamps, and occasionally go see the puppies! Everyone is always so helpful and willing to be there to assist! This is one of our favorite pet stores.

We go in sometimes just to play with the puppies and always learn something new about a breed or one of the other animals they have from the kind and knowledgeable staff. They have good prices on quality pet supplies. Usually leave with a treat or toy for our dog (used to get other items for the tortoise too) and hope that the animals find good homes too.

I have been going to Uncle Bills to play with the puppies there for years. The other day, I took my toddler there for the first time to let her see all the animals and she had a blast! I have to rate this pet store poorly though, because of the following issue. My toddler and I were walking around when she spotted a cat (I was told owned by the store.) She started walking toward it, and Im thinking, okay, theres an employee standing right next to it at the check out counter, shes sees my toddler walking up to the cat, so it must be friendly especially if its just roaming around the store. When my daughter approached the cat, it immediately bit her hand and SCRATCHED HER EYE. The employee didnt say ANYTHING to me or my daughter, and then the man next to us who was there with his kids as well told me they just realized it wasnt a friendly cat too. I cant blame the cat for reacting, but the employee should have warned me or at least made sure my daughter was okay. Not only that, but mean animals who do not want to be touched should not be left out to roam around the store where anyone can walk up to it and attempt to pet it. I am very upset that this happened... my daughter has a scratch from her eyebrow all the way down her eyelid and it drew a little blood. I hope the store sees this post and considers more carefully which pets they allow to roam around the store.

Rats and mice are a joke. Adult mice are very small. Adult rat was like a small. Expensive for the size

I was worried to go here after reading all of the reviews but I had to get a special dog food that is hard to find so I went anyway. I got asked four different times from four different people if I needed help. I had amazing service, with great advice on a little kitten I had rescued. Everything looked clean to me, they had a great variety of natural, healthy products, and the animals looked pretty well cared for. I’m not sure what all of the negative reviews are for but I had a great experience here and plan on coming back!

We buy our dog and cat food here as it is the closest place that carries the brand we buy. It os easy to get in to and it had a wide variety of items for all of your needs. We have never had a problem of items being out of stock and are happy that the store occasionally has sales on the brand we buy. The staff is always very helpful and courteous and the resident cat is fun to see hanging out in various spots of the store when we visit. One of the nice perks is that the store has a rewards program in place for the food you buy. After so many bags purchased, you get a free one. What a great, nice incentive!

They could probably use a couple more hands on deck but otherwise, and all around good place. I dont go for the puppies but I do go for the food! I mean, my babies gotta eat! I love the variety of different fish they have.Cant wait to get my Koi pond going!! They will most definitely be my one stop shop!Lets just try to keep all the birds contained next time. Watching you guys try to catch one with a fish net attached to a broom handle or 2 was quite the show! Hope the little Birdy made is back safely.

Staff is friendly, the animals are great, the prices are scary. I bought a black lab in 1998. Paid $300 for it and it came with paperwork. Went on 9/13/19 and asked about a little tiny hyper dog. $1700.00. Ill adopt from the shelter.

Had a great experience they had a good selection of cichlids for a great price and all fish seemed to be in good health and great selection of saltwater fish also just not my thing YET wld definitely recommend to a friend.

The young Male that watches over the dogs was beyond rude! Young teenage boy working in there today acted like he was better than everybody. I have bought a Frenchie from there less than a year ago and staff was great. Went in today to look at another one they had and was ready to purchase but will never spend any more money there after being spoke to like I was today.

Good place, our go to for fish needs

I went in looking for chinchilla supplies and the staff didnt really seem too knowledgeable, especially since they sell chinchillas. I do feel they had a good variety of supplies for other animals though. I do like how they have live animals and the cats free roam in a certain part of the store, made it more interesting.

It has alot of items for all kinds of pets.They got fish, salt water, fresh water. Reptiles puppies, birds you can get all the things they need to.

To many people not following the 6 feet rule

Uncle Bills has some of the most passionate staff Ive met in my life. For every question, there was someone to answer, and they were more than willing to discuss any of the pets present, down to details of the animals lives. The animals are always well-behaved, as well, which speaks to the quality of the staff. Youll be hard pressed to find more a more friendly staff in a pet store!

Not deserving of any stars but had to give one star to leave review. I had called the store before arriving to make sure they had my brand of dog food. When I arrived staff was meh... After walking down every aisle I found my brand but not what I was told they actually had when I asked 2 times repeatedly on the phone and they said yes. The signed with the food said 15% off right in front of the food I grabbed. When it rung up I asked the lady why is wasnt 15% off when the sign says it was..with an attitude she walked back and came back said it had to be breed specific which we were buying for a saint bernard and on the bag it was saint bernard she said nope not like that...so than we asked if they priced matched like other pet stores she rudely said no...when I said Im asking because Im paying $16 more here for something that isnt even the actual thing we came for from the other side of town she agreed their price was a lot higher than other stores and said so are you getting it or not...we knew our dog needed the food and our chewy order wasnt due to be set out for 2 days so we went ahead and got it...I feel like uncle Bills needs to start price matching we normally get our fish from there but for now on our business will be elsewhere...horrible customer service anymore

This place is cool because of their fish section. I sometimes just stop in to visit and look at their tropical fish :) (they have freshwater as well). I believe its also a local business (could be wrong-at most its a smaller chain of pet stores ) so I like to support that. Ive also bought my cat toys and treats from here as well.

It was nice to see some of the dogs but I felt bad for one Izzy ( I think that’s it’s name) the German shepherd looked very sad or depressed I couldn’t get her attention and he just stared at the back wall I also heard and saw people talking about how sad she looks you guys should probably do something before it’s too late she needs to be happy so somebody picks her. so just wanted to say something about that otherwise it was a good visit

It’s a decent replace to visit, the staff is usually on top of their game, but some of them are just meh. My fiancée loves stopping by pet stores just to check out the animals (yes, we’re THOSE kinds of people) so Uncle Bill’s is a nice place to stop, we even saw a hairless cat last visit which was cool, never seen one in person! But the prices are RIDICULOUS! For any of the animals. Even for the rabbits and the ferrets, they are so incredibly expensive to adopt. And the prices on the dogs... INSANE! Please if you want to adopt a dog, visit the shelter! It’s so cheap, and they’re so much more grateful to be adopted. ADOPT DONT SHOP!

Clean space, helpful employees

All of their animals are given love and care while they wait for you to take them home. You can even pet some for free, its a pet shop filled with love.

The cages are very small and not well cleaned. All animals extremely overpriced no matter what breed or how old it is. Whenever my family and I go there the staff are very rude, they don’t have good knowledge of the animals either. The puppies are pretty and cute but they could be taken care of better. Honestly Uncle Bills is lucky I’m giving them 2 stars and not 1. Guess I’m being nice today.

Got my dog from here, it seems like a good place. They told me my dog just had a sensitive stomach took him to a vet turned out he had a stomach parasite

Customer experience was not great. Asked for some beef cheek chews for my dog. Associate yawned and said he didnt have any. Walked 10 feet and found a pretty big selection of them.I dont think he was listening to me or interested in helping.

The kids love to go just to look at the puppys. My husband loves the fish section. I would like to inquire about a puppy but Im afraid to ask what the processes and the prices are. I had a friend go in and ask once and was told by an employee that if he had to ask how much the dog was he couldnt afford it. I dont know about you but I have to know how much something is before I buy it....
