This art center is beautiful! When my husband and I have to get away from Sanibel we come here to look at the local artist creations from the nearby communities. They put on amazing monthly events that everyone should go. If this is your first time to the Fort Myers area it is a definite must see while on vacation.

The art center always offers unique and interesting art exhibitions featuring local and world wide artists. Plus the building itself is a historic piece of art so its perfect to house and showcase pieces of beauty. A must visit if youre in the area.

We visit here every year for the Festival of Trees. The building is an architectural gem in downtown Fort Myers. It is even more breathtaking in the evening when the outside artwork is lit up and casts the words onto the buildings. If you happen to be in the area during the holidays you will not want to miss the festival of trees to see all of the beautiful displays.

I had an amazing time visiting the Sidney &Berne Davis Art Center to watch a group of local artists perform. It was my 1st time visiting there. The center is very beautiful both inside and outside. The luminary columns outside displaying names after dark, adds a breathtaking view to the downtown Fort Myers area.

SBDAC was the perfect choice for our wedding. The venue has a magical feeling. The outside is absolutely beautiful. The staff here will do whatever it takes to make the day right. We had rain in the forecast and the venue staff was flexible all day long moving from plan A to B to C and back to B!! Truly a great space for a wedding of 100+. Stasi was our point person and was extremely helpful over the course of the year we worked with her. I highly recommend!

I reserved the main gallery for my daughters Sweet 16, and I couldnt be happier! The party was a huge success. We didnt have a large group, but everybody who attended was awed! Stasi was always available and helpful through all my planning stages. She helped me tremendously in understanding how to host a night to remember! Craig was our hero the day of the party, from setting up to breaking down and everything in between, he was helpful, kind, and was on top of everything! I will definitely be looking to them for the next big event. Thank you so much for the memories!

Unfortunately we had a $1000.00 deposit for Prom 2020 and they are keeping $100.00 of the students money:( They have had our money for over a year and when we just requested a refund we were told that there is $100.00 booking fee.

I could not have picked a better place to book the best night of my life. My husband and I got married at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center on May 19, 2018. We had our ceremony on the front steps and the reception right inside. Stasi, the event coordinator, did any amazing job accommodating us. She was very proactive and helped me out so much when planning everything. I could not thank her and the team enough for making my day so special. Weve received so many compliments about our venue. Our guests were amazed by the beauty and personality of the building. One of my bridesmaids actually suggested to her sister who just recently got engaged to get married here. So if you dont want to take my word for it, just ask any one of our 120 guests! By the way, it rained on our wedding day and even that couldnt ruin a damn thing! This place is beautiful.

Nice art museum with different displays every month. We went to check it out for a potential wedding venue and booked it immediately. Reasonable prices and should be a beautiful wedding scene. Looking forward to seeing it all set up.

Intimate show for Puddles Pity party, however the AC was so cold my wife wore hers and my jacket to suffer thru the 90 minute show. Management said it will heat up when the stage lights come on. LED lights produce no heat so it stayed 60°

Wonderful gallery with a staff to match! The associate Rebel was warm and welcoming as well as very informative about current art on display as well as upcoming events.

My cooked us a whole pig for a Vietnamese wedding. Our son and his Vietnamese wife. Now our daughter too. The pig was a hit. Tender and the best crispy skin, delicious flavor. Thank you. The wedding was more special for it.

As an assistant to an event planner I cant express in words how much of a pleasure it was to have all logistics work out perfectly. My partner and I chose SBDAC for our wedding reception. When none of the default wedding packages quite met our needs, the SBDAC staff worked with us to find something that did. Everything about the reception was wonderful! The upstairs gallery we held it in, the furniture, table cloths, sound system, lighting, everything! The staff were amazingly helpful. They were always on the ball and made sure we never had to do anything ourselves day of. I highly recommend the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center for your wedding and reception!

We hosted our association Industry Awards at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center on November 9th and we couldnt have been any happier with how it went. The staff, location, food/bev, setup was all phenomenal. All of our guests were raving about the venue. We look forward to having another event at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in the future!

Attended the Dueling Piano event on October 19 after becoming a member. Event consisted on 2 individuals who misplayed chords on the pianos and apparently could not play melody. Vocals skills were poor at best. Why would this be titled a piano Duel when it consisted a attempted singing. Additionally, audience needs to understand their role is to listen not dance sing etc.!

This grand old court house is now a center for the arts. As it should be. The buildings marble floor art is stellar. The front facades keystone columns are no longer being built anywhere with keystone, and is one-of-a-kind architecture. Truly is a lovely old important government building. The arts on display year to year are ever changing from gallery to chamber music.

My wife and I had our wedding reception here, and it was the best day of our lives. G3 Catering was phenomenal, and Stasi Gonzales was on top of everything. We didnt have to worry about a thing! The event staff made sure everything was put together flawlessly. It ended up looking better than we could have ever imagined. 10/10 highly recommend having any event hosted here by this wonderful facility and staff.

This place was amazing! I planned my entire wedding from out of state so I essentially picked this place sight unseen. And was NOT disappointed. It. Is. GORGEOUS! Im kind of a minimalist, so there wasnt much decorating but this place is stunning on its own. Some tablecloths, chargers, centerpieces, and up-lighting and this place is breathtaking. Stasi was also amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process and making sure things went perfectly the day of. She recommended excellent vendors (which we used and loved...caterer, dj, linens..). And she was an excellent on-site wedding planner the day of and made sure everything and everyone was where they were supposed to be. She goes above and beyond even making sure my Groom and I had a drink when we needed one and plenty of food. Ceremony was upstairs and reception downstairs and our guests commented all night how beautiful the venue was. Would definitely use this place again for ANY Fort Myers event. 10 stars!

We had our wedding here on March 23rd. Everything was absolutely perfect. Stasi was very responsive to emails and easy to get a hold of. Although you are only allowed to use G3 catering as on option for food we wouldnt have picked anyone else. Everyone raved about the food and the venue. Throughout the night Stasi was there from the beginning (the morning of) to almost the end. She always made sure we were well taken care of and if we ever needed anything. This building is such a historical staple in downtown Fort Myers and we were proud to be able to celebrate our wedding there! The night was absolutely perfect!

We visited the arts center on two nights while visiting Ft. Myers. What beautiful music! I also enjoyed reading about the history of the building on its website.

This is one of the coolest buildings in downtown Fort Myers, especially at night. There usually isnt a ton of stuff going on here but they do offer artwork exhibits from time to time and they have been working diligently to restore the building. Even if they arent hosting an exhibit it is still worth checking out at night time due to the sculptures located out front that cast words onto the walls and ground.

Beautiful, historic facility. Inside capacity is less than 200, but excellent with light and sound. The front steps are on every visitors photo list.

I recently had a honor of being part of a wedding party at the SBDAC. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was orchestrated to perfection! Seriously, every staff member went above and beyond to ensure that the wedding was a success. They executed the event flawlessly from rehearsal, set-up, to catering. We all know the venue is gorgeous, but it was the hard work and dedication of the staff here that really made the special occasion a success.

Absolutely impressive AND today a Fort Myers Film Festival day = greater day,,. Film festival box office and movie info nicely organized.

The Art Miniatures show is fun and interesting. Its there until February 15th. I especially enjoyed the works of Marianne Laraia.

The Glam Bam Burlesque show was amazing. The host Chloe kept the crowd going. The girls performances were so great to watch. There was live singing, dancing, and the costumes from the hair, makeup, and all the glitz, kept the audience wanting more!

This is a nice building, but Ive been to several events here and outside pedestrian/motorcycle noise seems to get in to the performance space every time! They need to either change the parking situation right in front of the building by working with the city, invest in more soundproofing, or hold classical music concerts on non-weekend evenings (perhaps then downtown wouldnt be so noisy?) Also bring a sweater if you get cold...and then later you can sit on it as the chairs are uncomfortable especially for a two hour show. I agree with other reviews; tickets and the newspaper should include Cocktail hour at 7, Performance at 8 so as not to worry patrons.

A group of people with a beautiful soul, love the diversity of art and events. After getting a chance to be a part of the American Virtuosi Gala, the experience have never being the same, looking forward to the upcoming shows and people. Keep up the great job, Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center

Stasi at SBDAC was such a pleasure to work with during the planning of my wedding. She was responsive to all my questions & her team did an amazing job hanging a large backdrop for our ceremony upstairs & then moving it downstairs in time for the reception. The lighting was beyond perfect for the look we were going for. I was blown away at how the space was transformed from one day to the next for our event. I cant thank Stasi enough for all she did behind the scenes to make my day perfect because I found out later it was more than she should have. I highly recommend the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center for events & definitely encourage everyone to visit them on a regular day to check out the beautiful artwork displayed in their galleries.

Favorite place downtown Ft. Myers!! I visit every Art Walk on first Friday nights. A wide variety of events. Warm and welcoming staff and volunteers. Clean. Wheelchair friendly. Historic building with beautiful architecture.

This Building is Amazing in the day or night. Host location of the AWESOME Fort Myers Film Festival #FMFF & Thank God For Indie Monday #TGIM with Eric Raddatz & Melissa DeHaven. First Monday of Every month you can watch cool Short Films & speak your mind about them. Great crowd, very welcoming! Beyond the films there is always something fun & interesting happening here. A must go attraction!

They need to spruce up the waiting area. There is No place to sit before the show...I did enjoy the Verdi Concert. I feel that from now on I will be going to The Barbara Mann Center....I was disappointed with the venue .

Open to the public and always at no cost (unless theres a special event; past acts have included: Puddles Pity Party, Brit Floyd, Absolute Queen, etc; Contains two a galleries that are updated monthly. They also do events for the city as well. This place is a treasure to Fort Myers.

Love this venue! I had my wedding here almost two years ago and it was beautiful! They always have different arts events here that help make downtown Fort Myers a fun destination.

We enjoyed the Mersey Beatles concert. I was disappointed that the seats that I chose online were nowhere to be found, only to find out that it was a first come basis. The seats werent numbered. This should have been noted on the webpage.

I did not tour the art center itself. I attended the singer songwriter competition. I was impressed they work with the performing arts too.

What a great venue to host an event at. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. Thank you for helping us make our luncheon a success!

I love the atmosphere there

When the concert starts at 8:00 DO NOT list the starting time on all your promotional, print and phone as 7:00 ! Why would you make people hang around for an hour who had “rushed” their evening for a 7PM start, as advertised!!!!!!!! If you want to offer a bar and trays of cheese and fruit for an hour that is how it should be listed on the web site and reported to those buying tickets over the phone. ( bar wasn’t even set up until well after 7).I specifically asked starting time when I called for tickets. I was told the starting time was 7:00 PM, no mention was made of the hour lapse for refreshments before the music started. What a waste of time.........and not fair to your audience. Why would you do that? And yes, the tickets said music starts at 8 but if you were picking up tickets at “will call”that meant you were an hour early! Not good.

This is by far one of my favorite places to visit when Im downtown! They are always featuring new artist so its always something new and always something there for everyone. The staff is helpful and courteous, next time youre in the area, check them out!

My daughters late evening black tie wedding reception was in September 2016. The Art Center had been transformed into a black tie venue with beautiful décor and special attention given to every detail by my hired event coordinator. Biggest issue - Staff could not control the AC for only 145 people in the room. It was an absolute sauna!! We even had guests who were getting sick from the heat. I had to insist they pry the fans off of their bar staff and put them on the dance floor. People that could dance were just a wet sweaty mess and wedding photos now show people a mess with shirts hanging out, open, whatever to cool off. This was a black tie event. Word of advice - do not have a pre reception cocktail cocktail party in an area they close off from the main room with this many people. No where to sit and again - too hot. And, do not have more than 150 people in the gallery for a sit down event with dancing.. The banners on the front were never removed and are now in all of the exterior pictures. The Board did nothing to recognize or remedy the experience even when pictures were presented showing them the effects of the room temperature. Both our event coordinator and I tried to work with them on some resolution. This easily could have been a 5 Star rating had the Board and Administration recognized how much my daughters wedding day was adversely affected by these issues. The only reason this review gets 2 versus 1 star is that earlier on in the preparation of the room, some staff had been very accommodating to my event coordinator in remedying some issues and I thank them for that.

Theres always something going on at the Berne. Id call it more of a cultural center rather than an art center as they have so many different programs going on. Its located in the old historic Ft Myers Post Office.

Fantastic Beatles/holiday concert by Nowhere Band!

Jazz music series was increadable, very cozy venue. It reminds me of the unplugged era on MTV. Its been a great date night for my wife and I. Fyi: it is also all age ranges who attend, some very young adults, to veteran daters.

We toured the museum because we were interested in renting it out for a party but the contract has way too many hassles involved for what its worth.

This is a no frills venue set in an auditorium setting with bleachers and mid-back chairs. Beverages are reasonably priced.
