Amazing historical preservation of artifacts from WWI, WWII, Vietnam, IraqiFreedom and so much more. The Staff is friendly with vast knowledge that they readily shared. The Museum is self guided but I was fortunate to get a guided tour that brought the artifacts to life. Some of the many highlights are the Liscum Bowl, Saddams cash box and spider hole cover. While this is impressive, there is so much more. Outside are multiple tanks to see. It is all free and outside base so no passes needed.

It was Pleasant, but a total waste of time. As a retired E7 since 1971 using Fort Carson for all my doctor visits and meds plus many commissary visits, I feel like my family members in my vehicle with me should be able to enter the base with.no interference.

The Fort Carson Museum is a wonderful place to learn about the United States Army fourth infantry division. The history of the division goes back to World War II, to Vietnam, do you operation Iraqi freedom to the present day operations. You learn about the history about how Fort Carson Colorado has played a vital role in American military history. The staff of volunteers are wonderful all the exhibits inside and outside are educational. You will enjoy the tour of Fort Carson Colorado museum

This museum was so interesting and a great stop! You do not have to go on base so it is so easy to do. The tour guide gave a lot of fun facts and it really was interesting information. It does not take up a lot of time and if you like military history you should go by. Pvt Gasch was a great guide the entire staff were very helpful and nice.

I worked here for a short time in 2014 during my PCS to fort Irwin, and was my last duty of fort carson. I loved all of the different eras covered in the collection, but still the coolest part for me was the fact that they have Saddams spider hole cover on display from his capture. If you havent been, stop by and get a dose of history. It also features a complete history of the beginnings of the 10th mountain division before they left for new York, and the story of the fort carson hospital in all of its incarnations through the ages.

Was a little let down. The museum is actually part of the visitor center, right offpost. Its small...However, there are some pieces you are going to love. No spoilers. If youre already at Carson, check it out. But, it is too small for a dedicated trip. Like REALLY small.

This is a nice little museum just outside the main gate of Fort Carson (so you do not actually have to come onto post). Admittance is free but they accept tips. While a very small place, they pack a lot of history. The gentleman in charge has a vast amount of knowledge for not only everything in the museum but any of the other history on the post.

Review №34

Sigh, The highlight of the place was the staff. The exhibits were OK with nothing outstanding. I travel a lot and visit numerous military museums - see my profile. Not sure if this museum was a check in the block for Ft Carson or is just underfunded but most of the stuff seemed canned and possibly not researched. I bet some of the old veterans would be glad to help with maintenance and upkeep of the vehicles on display. The whole we paint everything the same and fake bumper numbers on the display vehicles, is just an indication of the lack of attention to detail...
