Reasonable parking fee ($10). No fee to launch kayaks. Boat ramp with docks on either side. One dock section sits very low for easy entry/egress from kayaks. Decent restrooms adjacent to boat ramp.No current this end of the lake. Water level pretty low this visit (just before Thanksgiving).Wind kicked up a bit in the afternoon, which gave us a bit of a headwind on the paddle back to the boat ramp.Much nicer to paddle here in the Fall. I can be really hot on the water in the hot months. Take lots of water and sunscreen during the summer.

So much to do here. On the water there were plenty of people kayaking, swimming, stand up paddleboarding, and even some small sail boats. Plenty of beach area for picnicking and everyone was friendly. There is a rope swing out there too. They also have hime/bike trails. You do have to pay for parking but worth every penny!

We enjoy spending tine here.. Lately weve been coming to this lake once a week. Parking is $10, they have parking near the lake (about 300 feet) Its a nice little lake. If you like kayaking they rent them here. Very family friendly.

This was an awesome place to kayak. Didnt realize this was practically in our back yard. Almost a swampy feel to the north Eastern section. Only 10 bucks to park and if you have a California state poppy pass its free. Sac state aquatic center also does rentals as reasonable prices. Definitely recommend a relaxing day on the water. Go early before its too hot and busy though. Also less wind

One of my favorite local water stops. Currently $10 to park. Beach area with picnic tables. Usually has kayak & stand up paddle board rentals but not during COVID.

Lots of people out on the water with kayaks, paddleboards and small sailboats. Great beach to launch from for a long easy paddle. Wind picked up a little in the afternoon but not too choppy paddling back on the kayak. Busy area with enough room to spread out.

Very accessible spot for water sports of all kinds, hiking, and biking. There is a preserve directly across from the launch/beach area that is very beautiful and fun to paddle through.

So much fun! A nice escape from the heat. Grounds are well kept for the most part but I didnt see the whole place or the bathrooms. Lifeguards on duty when the family and I went. Lots of shade. I love that they have loaner life vests for children. $10 to park so bring cash and your floaty!

We wanted a place to take the whole family. This was perfect! Mom, Dad and kids (3 to 12) swam, splashed, kayaked. Grandma and the dogs relaxed in the shade and watched. Not too crowded, able to social distance. Easy to park. Nice, clean beach area with life guards.

Came here on a Sunday to do some kayaking. My advice would be to come early if you want a picnic table or a parking spot close to the beach. You might also want to bring water shoes...the rocks under water can catch you off guard and catch a toe. This is the first time Ive been here and saw a lifeguard! Not sure of his/her schedule but it was nice to see. Parking will run you $10 or $20 if you plan on using the boat launch. They didnt charge me for the kayaks in the back of my pickup. Didnt use the public bathroom but they were open.

This is a great place to launch your kayak and explore the lake. If you had across the lake directly from the recreational area, there is a tunnel that leads under the bike path. This area has minimal current and so there is a great deal of wildlife that flourishes here. Lots of turtles, large birds, deer, and even a giant beaver.

Really pretty place with a nice size Beach. Lot of ppl, though.but make sure you have cash. 10 bucks to park a smaller vehicle?? They are out of their avocado minds. Now I see why ppl are moving to my home state of Texas...I feel bad for those huge trailers and RVs parked in that lot. Probably had to sell their house to park their vehicles there.

You can park for free at Hazel Park and Ride. Parking at Sacramento aquatic center cost money. This lake is damn run-off so the water is very, also cold. There is plenty of sand beach front, along with life jackets. You can explore trails all the way to Folsom by foot or bike if you are feeling ambitious.

We went here for a picnic on Mothers Day and it was great! The kids waded in the water while my wife and I hung out and watched them on shore. The geese are a little aggressive but can be shooed away when they get too close. If you go for a hike by the shore, watch out for poison oak! We saw a lot of it growing along the trails.

Plenty of parking and the trails are well groomed and youcan go off trail and follow game paths. You can also walk the bike trail if you prefer pavement. You can see the remains of the first aqueduct in the area that carried water to farms 20 miles away. Unfortunately disrespectful people have graffitied the canal, but the partially submerged building is interesting and sometimes you can see river otters. There is also a marked area with a picnic table where you can observe nesting herons and egrets is the springtime.Amazing place for kayaking.
