Went for titanic exhibit. No pictures were allowed to be taken inside exhibit. There were a few items from the titanic (tools, articles of clothing, etc,) a large piece of ice to demonstrate the iceberg, and exhibit of first & third class cabins. In all, the walk through took about 15 minutes. Waited 8 months for this exhibit & it definitely was not what we hoped it would be. There was a photo souvenir you had the option to purchase at the end ($20, $25, or $30). You also got to walk through the entire museum and experience the history of Flint. There also was a nice souvenir shop at the entrance with many interesting items.

This is where of the history of Flint and the surrounding area comes alive. The Sloan Museum splendidly splays out important themes in the countys history, going back to its Native American roots to its labor disputes and strikes, the automotive industry, transportation, the grocery industry, and much more. Stilled scenes of yesteryear outfitted with fully-dressed figures and of-era decor present a glimpse into the past. Exhibits arent too lengthy, and neither is the amount of reading required to soak-in each display. Overall an awesome learning experience for me and for the children.

I took my kids to see the Wild Kratts exhibit. I felt that was a waste of money and the exhibit was pretty boring but my kids loved the music exhibit at Sloan. There were guitars and drums for them to play and they thought it was pretty cool. We loved the play area!! That was set up really nice and kept clean.

I took my 10 month old here for trick or treating having never been there. Theres only one treat station so it wasnt good for trick nor treating. It was great for the play space in the back. She wasnt walking but there was a little foam pit filled with big foam cubes that she played in and loved. Unfortunately, elementary aged kids were throwing the cubes and jumping in the pit wildly. One little boy threw himself in the pit and nearly hit her in the head with both his feet. Parents arent very watchful of their kids here. But thats not on Sloan Museum.

I always enjoyed coming here with my kids and walking through, checking things out. But due to the fact they helped screw up my first born childs Swartz Creek High Schools 2018 Graduation, I will probably never return. I cant believe how many of us proud parents had to watch our children graduate on a t.v. screen inside the Sloan Museum instead of being inside the Whiting Auditorium, even though our white tickets should have gotten us entrance into the Whiting. Only people with red tickets were supposed to be seated at the Sloan Museum. Thank you Sloan Museum for taking part of ruining a very special moment in our lives. I dont even have any good pictures of my son graduating because of the way Staff at both the Whiting Auditorium and the Sloan Museum handled this event. That day meant so much to me, and to many other parents who spent years looking forward to seeing our children walk across that stage graduating. He didnt get to hear his family cheer for him as he walked across the stage... So many of us parents will never forget this...

Not as I remember from school field trips. Not many cars. Robot animals did not work. And really was not much of an attraction if they did. Really not worth the drive or price of administration. Administration should have come with a free pass to long way as that would be the only way it would be worth the administration cost and drive.

A Wedding At The Museum! Amazing, Fantastic, Fabulous, Perfect! All of these words describe the facility and especially the staff of the Sloan Museum and Longways Planetarium. I have loved this place since I was a child. So many memories and experiences learning. As an adult when I became engaged it seems like an amazing opportunity to get married at such a unique location. After looking at multiple venues and speaking with them I can not speak any higher then I am right now about here. The staff is WONDERFUL! Stress is crazy being a bride and planning a wedding. They make it easy and hassle free. I can not imagine getting married anywhere else after working with the staff here. I HIGHLY recommend booking this location for a wedding or special event. You can hold me to my review, you will not be upset about working with them!

October 2018: Whilst setting up the new exhibit, local zip code residents got in free. There is one mobile scooter and 3 wheel chairs that are free to use if needed. Small gift shop that takes suggestions and is seasonally appropriate. Staff very helpful, knowledgeable and bend over backwards to be accommodating. The parking lot was under construction so parking sucked but that would not stop me from bringing the family.

Take a step back in time and learn about the roots of Flint. I hate to use the words this once great city as there are still a plethora of things that make Flint great. Still, you can learn about the golden era of Flint manufacturing that really made it a global powerhouse it has yet to repeat today. There are plenty of interactive exhibits (picking up phones, pretend screwing on lug nuts etc.) to keep the kids active and lots of fascinating history and world-class quality exhibits to keep the interested teen or adult going. Would recommend to anyone visiting and would strongly urge anyone who lives in the area to go.

Good unless its a special event with a school after hours cuz they shove you through and rush you. You hardly get any time to do things because if youre in a wheelchair or have Little little kids.... People just keep cutting and pushing past ya. When you go for a non special event.,... Its not so bad. Watch your Littles in the back play area though. Lots of mean, pushy kids that dont share and take stuff out of toddlers hands. Sad. We hardly see staff anywhere but upfront when we first walk in.

I take my kids to Sloan Planetarium on a weekly basis. They have these excellent shows for kids, but the real reason is that the theater has these huge, comfy, reclining seats. Stars overhead, peaceful music, kids entranced: this is the best nap you can imagine. So go, watch the show (they really are terrific), and then go back and let your kids watch while you get some well-earned, guilt-free rest.
