Tonight (11/14/20) I was walking downtown with two girlfriends after having dinner at Lake Gaston. We were passing by this bookstore, and my friend was saying goodbye to her kid on the telephone as we passed. The male owner, who I am familiar enough with to identify as such after many years in Fayetteville, stepped out the door and loudly asked my friend if she needed “psychological help”. When we all faltered and just stared at him he continued to talk to her about whether she needed mental health help until she told him that she has a masters in psychology, so no, she’s good, and we walked away still a little unsure of what exactly just happened.I’m not sure if he thought he was being funny, or if he himself is maybe suffering from some kind of mental problem or dementia, but his behavior was unacceptable regardless. Maybe they should keep him off the sidewalk, if he is going to harass pedestrians.

The owners of this beautiful bookstore and art gallery are wonderful. No one who walks through the door is a stranger. Liz and Laura always happily greet everyone who enters the shop. They can direct you to the right book for any of your reading needs. Lastly, this business has opened up many opportunities for local artist, such as myself. They guided and assisted me thought my journey as an artist. Its almost like a second home for me.

I love this quiet little book store. I always find a new selection when I stop in here. It is small but the book selection is good and you’re supporting small businesses. A must-see if you’re downtown and love books!

I really love the atmosphere of this place and how you can find a lot of odd books for very reasonable prices. Its a wonderful place to go if you find yourself wondering what to read next. They even have a section that pairs books with their movie versions, which I thought was cool. Only thing that makes me sad is that theres not really a science section. However, they have a lot of history, classics, and some fiction, as well as some collectibles.

Pretty decent selection of books. As I am an avid reader Ive been here multiple times before. However the self-important attitude of one of the owners, an older gentleman I believe, drove my husband and I away for good. No one likes to be treated like a second class citizen. I expected better from once nice and accommodating people. Maybe Im not being entirely fair seeing as this was my first experience with him, but one time was enough to leave a permanent bad taste in my mouth.Definitely appears to take himself a little too seriously and acted as though he is above people. I complained about him to a lady on the phone, she was nice enough. Maybe he can take a page out of her book.

Really neat bookstore! They have a lot of older books and for great prices. The owner is also really sweet. Also they take book trade-ins in exchange for store credit, although Im not sure if there are limitations to what they take.
