Always a good experience. Many exhibits are free, some have a cost so do a bit of research before you go. Very interests exhibits about the local area. Love the gift shop. Nice grounds around the facility. Hope they can go back to having hands on family events soon.

The Farmington Museum is not very large, but they do have a couple of very decent galleries to view. The small riverside viewing behind the building is a nice touch. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

The museum brings in a nice variety of traveling exhibits to match the great permanent exhibits and info on local history. Local histories can also be picked up at the bookstore. Dont forget to check out the river terrace garden. Beautiful spot to take in a SJC outdoor concert!

Visiting from out of state was came to see Stan the T-Rex ( per my 2 year olds request.) Love that the museum is free. Not a whole lot of hands on activities for the kids, but its worth visiting. We spent 30 minutes there.

Fun place to occasionally visit if bored. My sons love the special exhibits that come in (especially the dinosaurs!), and I love the photography from the locals, but if none of that is there its honestly kinda boring. But they do have sparkling clean facilities and friendly staff! And we had some friends who got married there, it was perfect for a wedding!

Its probably the nicest thing in F-Town. I went when they didnt have anything put up so the museum was not as exciting as it could be.

We,(Daddy, Mommy and two girls 4&6) went to see the T-Rex exhibit Stan (On loan from The Museum of Natural History in Albuquerque). And we were very impressed with the rest of the exhibits too. From the amazing Navajo weaving , the gas station collection & the Trading post exhibit. We had a great time!!!p.s. its free/by donation

Stopped in to vote here. As a museum this is the best in the area. Came in for their shipwreck and mummy exhibits and for our seclusion in the state, they really went all out, I was impressed, my kids (teen down to 4 yr old) all had a good time between hands on exhibits and the information presented. Keep it up Gateway!

The FARMINGTON MUSEUM is a beautiful testament to the history and culture of Farmington. The Trading Post exhibit is fascinating and educational, and the art exhibit has a wonderful collection of artwork. The nature park outside overlooking the river is beautiful and peaceful. Entrance is free. Highly recommended.

We have enjoyed some of the outdoor summer terrace concerts recently and they have been wonderful The music has been excellent, one week being a classical quartet and the next being a 4-piece jazz combo. Its a very pleasant setting with a river on one side behind us and humming birds feeding on the trumpet vine covered trellises as a backdrop for the musicians. The talent we have seen and heard has been amazing!

Unless this museum is having a special event. I didnt find anything of interest in the actual Museum itself. At the time we visited they were having a quilt display. Im pretty sure we were there at one of the slower times of the year this was in August. They do have a very nice gift shop inside the museum. There are public restrooms and theyre very clean and there is wheelchair access.

This place was quiet, small, and full of pictures showing the history of Farmington. It is free. But any special exhibits are extra. A great place to learn the general history of the area. Only downside, there isnt any hands on or pamphlet that elaborates more on certain areas. Like, the different styles of Navajo rugs, the different ethnicities in the area, or a map showing where things would be on a present day map. But all in all, very informative.
