I love the place but I only come here on the weekends, and it is terrible I feel like I always have to wait 30-40 minutes before the 1 guy working can help me. Really wish they would have more than 1 person working because every time I come here I debate walking out after driving 40 minutes to get her.

Strange, small and very unclean fish store. Interior was dark and extremely sparse with little to no supplies or decor options. A large flower pot full of feeder goldfish also had many deceased feeders. Display tanks were empty with no decorum or enrichment for livestock. Employee had his lunch (little Caesars from next door) sitting in the store window. Entire place looked empty, as if they opened a few days ago yet was dingy enough to look like its been neglected for years. Employee did greet me as I entered and exited however, which is always appreciated

Great customer service and great selection of snails, plants, and fish. Not as crammed full like fantastic fins or fish doctors(ypsi) but definitely worth checking out if youre in the area. Still quarantining a few fish I got, will update if any unwanted critters pop up!

Got a beautiful betta from here and my cousin got a hardy jewel cichlid. Both are doing great and seem to have been well taken care of. We also got some plants from here, they had a lot that I dont normally see at other stores.They have alot of space to fill but the selection of fish is great. It looks like they do mostly freshwater, I think they were setting up a few salt tanks. I didnt see too much as far as supplies but they have all of the basic essentials.The store is very clean and the staff were great! 5/5 will be back

Disappointed... 2nd time we bought fish that have contaminated our Discus tank.. causing our Discus to die ,they are not properly cleaning there tanks in-store.. this was such a great store when the owner was in daily .. sad to leave this review on a once great fish store.

Gave them a call and the nice lady there told me all about the bettas they have and how they hand select them. Went into the store shortly after and it was absolutely beautiful and got to look at all the amazing fish and especially all the beautiful bettas they have and ended up leaving with an amazing new betta boy. Definitely will be coming back here

Fishy bizz is one of my favorite places to go to get fish they just switched fish from saltwater so they only have freshwater so if youre looking for saltwater just a heads up they switched.

Best fish store around! Ran by an old school fish nerd, very helpful staff. Lots of oddballs you cant find often. Even some reptiles!

Great fish store, I love this place. Friendly knowledgeable staff, wide great selection of healthy freshwater fish and snails. I have used them to stock my aquariums from 2019 into the future. Only downside is they just stock fish and food, coral, rocks and driftwood. They do not stock chemicals, plants, or other aquarium decor or accessories. The small lending and loan book library by the door is also a great way to borrow a book to read about fish, and return for others to enjoy...Ive bought many of my fish books from samples Ive read or seen in their library.

One of the few places Im not afraid to buy fish from. The tanks are always clean and the staff is patient and knowledgeable. As a fish guy they arent afraid to talk with me when I go in and are always friendly. I wish more stores were run with the care for the fish in mind the way that this place does.

The biggest and most diverse selection of fish I have seen in metro Detroit. Great selection of reptiles as well. Fish and reptiles are kept in great habitats. Staff is always open and honest of the condition of each animal. Most reptiles are all rescues they took under their wing. Chris and Brianna are very very informative and you will often catch yourself having a conversation with them every time you see them. They are very very approachable and nice. The love they have for their animals is so easy to notice. I couldnt recommend this place more. If I could give 6 stars I would.

One of the best fish places I know in the area. The owner is really cool and Is knowledgeable about what he sells. Fish are very well cared for and Fishy Bizz has never disappointed. This location sells items that you wouldnt find at a Petsmart or Petco. Truly worth spending the extra dime here, rather than anywhere else.

I was extremely dissapointed with the level of service i recieved. I had called last week to ask if they had a specific fish in stock, and if they would be able to reserve one if they did, since it would be a long drive out there and I couldnt do so until the next day. I recieved a yes to both of my questions. However, upon arriving, I looked around the store, and couldnt find the fish that was supposedly in stock. I asked the staff member if they had the fish in stock, to which they just looked around for a few minutes, and told me well this tank is where we normally stock them. I told them about the call I had made yesterday, and they contacted their coworker who was working the day before, but after almost half an hour of waiting for a response, it was a dead end. The staff wasted nearly 3 hours of my day because they were too bothered to take a minute or two and check if the fish was in stock.Though besides that, the conditions within the store are awful; almost every tank has a substantial amount of algae and fish with nipped fins. I saw nearly 20 or 30 dead fish in the store, which is astounding considering its relatively small size.I honestly reccomend even name brand pet stores like petco/petsmart over this store.

Honestly, I was expecting more/better but I had high expectations from all the recommendations. The lighting is very dim and it looks like an unfinished garage which makes a good hole in the wall environment but not good for actually looking at fish. Plants did not look good at all. Selection was good and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were average. I might come back because of selection but I personally prefer Moby Dicks in Waterford.

UPDATE 2: Since having THEIR GUPPY THAT I TRADED OVER 40 snails for, ALL of my Guppies that I had died! If I didn’t have his guppy in my little tank, my guppies would still be alive! I had my guppies for about one year! BEWARE OF THIS STORE!UPDATE: I am not sure, but the success of this store made the owner have a major attitude. Don’t get me wrong, he knows his business, but with no personality, a “know it it” type. I rather go to the bigger stores. The 3 snails that I bought, I ended up with over 40 snails. They gave me one guppy for the snails. Of course I did not want to say anything, so I kept my peace and listened to “how much he knows.... how he gets these snails for free... how many he gets for wholesale, blah blah blah....”.Well, overnight the one guppy that I got from him died!!!I just left the store without a replacement. He said ”I had to bring the water with me so he could test it”. Then he pointed to a policy sign (on a notebook paper) that was hand-written on the bottom of their counter! I did say, “it would have been nice to see that sign. Perhaps you could hang the sign where people could read it and make it bigger?”I am NOT going back to this rude place. I will get my guppy from another store.Initial Review: (I did not want to take my first review down. I wanted you - the consumer - to know that I tried to give this business a try. I wish I never did!) It is great to see a local business owner instead of going to a pet store for fish and snails! I miss the “ma & pop” type of stores. Very refreshing. I hope this store makes it. Make sure to do business with local businesses. If you have a hobby with tropical fish, try this place first, (maybe saltwater fish too. Some of the fish did look like it to me??). I was looking for snails for my small aquarium and they had 3-4 different types of snails!

This place is the best. I wont go anywhere else for our fish/aquarium needs. The owner is very nice, knowledgeable and will take care of you. Selection of fish seems pretty darn good too if you have a freshwater setup.I recently picked up a 10 gallon tank starter kit after my daughter won a fish at a local carnival. Now I have a new side hobby and the kids have a nice little aquarium with a bunch of fish! Thank you again Chris!

I just remembered my experience with some crazy woman coming in and screeching about trading in snails for a guppy lmao she wanted a guppy for each 5 cent snail. I went back today after that experience awhile ago and it’s changed but looks much cleaner.

Im a self proclaimed fish nerd, and I have been to many fish shops around the state. This one is one of the best, small mom and pop feel, owner was working and extremely helpful and friendly. They had great prices on some fish that Ive seen going for crazy prices at other city fish shops. I will definitely be returning, worth the hour drive.

Its a pretty cool place and they have a big selection of exotic fish. They also have lots of Driftwood and rocks to choose from.

They had a turtle literally hanging out of the top of the tank, we warned the employee and he just said its okay he wont fall out.... also a nearly dead bearded dragon and when we mentioned it they shrugged it off and said theyve been keeping an eye on it. It was BONES. I understand animals get sick but they could not have cared less and had it with another that was twice its size... I will never be buying from this store.

My husband and I went here for the first time today to get a betta fish. Their fish are well taken care of, and super inexpensive. Their prices are lower than any chain store I have been to. And they are kept in a lot cleaner of conditions. The owner was very knowledgeable about the fish.The store itself is awesome, I would highly recommend stopping here just to check out all the cool fish they have. I will definitely be coming back here in the future.

Place is hands down amazing. So many rare and awesome fish! We drove all the way from Toledo,oh to check it out and we will go back ! The hour and 15 minute drive was worth it! Staff was awesome ! And did everything they could to make we left happy ! Which we did ! Couldnt get a better section of off all fish online if you wanted to !

I didnt actually get to buy anything here. Their google listing said they deal with salt water tanks, but when I went out there I was told they really only deal with freshwater and ponds. That being said, they had a wide variety, and seemed to be very knowledgeable as they were helping other customers before they were able to help me, so I got to hear some of the info. They also apologized for not having what I needed and referred me to another fish store that would have what I needed.

Super knowledgeable and helpful owner who is passionate about what he does. He loves meeting new customers and adding new members to what he calls his fish family. He doesnt work Sunday or Monday, so for the best service come on a day when he is there. Weekends are very busy but fun place to be to see the new fish that week! Easy parking. Clean tanks.

Great place!! I needed some meds for a sick fish. They did not have what I needed stocked for sale so they took some from their supply to make sure I was able to start right away. They also had it ready and prepared for me when I arrived.

I enjoy taking my son to see the full variety of fishes sold in this store. The unique ones are the saltwater fish, shrimp, coral, stingrays, and the rare selection in the back, moray eels, and puffer fish.
