Attempted to enjoy an afternoon movie with the kiddos and had an experience worth sharing. We sat onto extremely cold seats and consider the fact that this was the first show of the day. Then, 15 minutes into the movie we asked that the heat be turned on or adjusted and was told that the heat was in need of repair. So moments later after shivering in our coats My family and I decided to leave. We stopped at the counter and ask if they would kindly refund us. It was such a hassle to receive a full refund. The young lady assisting clearly couldn’t care less of the inconvenience or arthritic pain aggravated by the freezing theater.Riviera Cinema, you should forewarn paying customers when you’re lacking some basic necessities or normalities like HEAT. Then, allow the customer to decide whether or not they will patronize.

This is a contemporary classic, theater. Its a definite throwback, to a different era in cinema. I enjoy the decor and the small, more intimate theater experience. Also, the ability to choose your seats, prior to walking into the theater is brilliant. I recommend taking advantage, of the fully reclining chairs.

Great newer emax screen with great sound but cold temp in the theater, could almost see our breath on a 70 degree day.

I have always loved this small and intimate theater. The seat need upgrading a lot of them have cuts and holes.

This place has transformed from a old theater with poor acoustics to a service oriented theater. Theater has large number of recliner chairs and a full bar. The lobby decor upgraded and they use emagine rewards. The theater is still small but cleaner and more fun.

I normally would say this place needs a upgrade. But this place has so much charm in its looks. The theater rooms are cozy and well sized. With such small rooms Im glad we get to choose seats. Seats are red and comfy. Always really nice staff. I wish they had more traffic cause it would be tragic to lose such a nice place. I only say that because with all the smart TVs and portable sources with apps and devices. I just want people to support locations such as these.

This place was great! As we go into the phases of opening back up everything again, I hope this place gets the business it needs to thrive while everyone simultaneously keeps socially distant

This is one of my favorite hide aways! The customer service is always bomb!!! They have added a few more theaters so its a little bigger! The drinks are always great.... Love this place and since Ive started going here I havent been to another theater. They have the reward program as well. Ill be going here as long as Im a Michigan native!

Great place. Upscale in my area. The staff were helpful. I really enjoy my movies with great sounds and the Riviera holds up.I wondered if the reclining chairs would hold up from constant use and they did!!! Still comfortable and if the movie is not good just close your eyes cause you already paid for the seat LOL!!!

I like going to this theater. Its easy to navigate and the theaters are cozy. Some of the seats are worn and need to be repaired. Other than that, you can bring your blanket and curl up in your seat and enjoy your movie. Also like the popcorn.

Best theater to come to always quiet and clean. This is my first choice when going to see a movie.

Good prices for tickets and concessions! A medium popcorn was only $7, and they had the best seasonings. Employees are honest and kind. I would definitely return! :)

This is one of my favorite movie theaters. Beautiful inside, wonderful recliner chairs with lots of leg room. And the fact that its just 20 minutes away!! I always get free passes to the AMC theaters, that I dont use because I prefer to go to the Riviera.

This is the worst movie theater Ive ever been to. I was very surprised with the area its in I thought it wouldve been more upscale and security would have been much better than it was. I definitely dont recommend this place. Most of the heated seats dont work and the people inside was opening the door for outsiders. Not safe to me.

This place is awesome. One of the best movie theaters I’ve been to. The theater rooms are so cozy, the sound is loud, and the screens are huge - it feels like you’re in the movie. The place is really fancy and I get an oldies vibe walking through the halls because of all the old movie posters on the walls. Love it all.

5 stars for Pat the Manager/Bartender I think a lot of times I go there is to visit him.Friendly, knowledgeable about movies, fun to talk to, sometimes I find myself missing some of the movie because of the great conversation Thanks Pat for making my visits there always pleasant.

Close to home,dont have to travel miles to get there if Im running a little late for my movie. I love the popcorn and the reclining seats. The staff is very good I give them a five star review.

The changes this place has made are incredible! The new reclining seats ate so spacious and comfortable!!! Love it! Will be back for sure.

The heated recliner seats are extremely comfortable! Everything was very clean including bathrooms, bar, and consession stand. For the price, the quantities are huge. The employees were polite and accommodating. By far my favorite theater now. My only complaint was the towel dispensers in the womens bathroom by theater 3 were broken.

Awesome aesthetics! Great number of screens. Building looks great with the new paint job! Some of the chairs in the theatres are a little beat up. But you cant beat $5 ticket Tuesdays!

Updated.... Soooooo Much Better and Bigger than it was. Heated recliners. Hot Dogs and everything else. A Bar, video games and a pool table. My new favorite theater

The theater has always been an enjoyable experience but today i went online to purchase tickets and saw that they were 8 dollars...for a show first thing in the morning! I thought it was Fandango thing, so I went through another site and it was the same. Thats very disappointing considering how close the theater is to my house. But I am not paying evening prices for a morning show. Business sadly lost.

This visit was more pleasant than one I had several months past. All theater personnel encountered this visit were hospitable & courteous. And now I am encouraged to make a return patronage and I shall. Only suggestion I give is check your environmentals. I and several patrons comment how hot it was on entering the show room. Aside from that I have no complaints. Thanks for vying for that 5th star from me.

This is my whole familys favorite movie theater. If you show up early to your movie dont worry because there are plenty of things to do, (drink at the bar, play pool, play arcade games) as well as the location which can help eliminate boredom. Normally I only get popcorn at movie theaters but this is one of two theaters that I will eat the food and the pretzel bites. The employees are very nice and perform their jobs as conveniently for the customers as possible. All in all, I definitely LOVE this movie theater, and I am 99.99% sure you will love it as well. DEFINITELY try it at least, you will not be disappointed with the quality of service or the quality of the movie theater

Used to be independent and now part of Emagine I believe. Relatively small theater with food and drink bar. Feels classic. Service is on the slow side. A few theaters are surprisingly large and maintained well and clean. Used to be live music at the drink bar during weekends.

Not clean. Smelled like marijuana. Many people were just walking into the theater and sitting in unreserved chairs. Never coming here again. Terrible experience.

Had a wonderful time with my Friend, seen Chase hedgehog, loved it! Comfortable seats, lots of room.

This is my first time visiting this theater. The seating was a little scratched but still reclined nicely. Clean and comfortable. Workers were very nice.

I had not been to this theater in some time and I must say I couldn’t believe the condition of the theater. The seats were worn and dirty making you uncomfortable. The auditorium did not look clean. I was at a 7:30 show and the ladies room was already a mess. Fresh popcorn was being popped though and the bar area was clean so I gave it a two.

Pleasant overall experience. Lines moved at a good pace, employees were pleasant and helpful. The facilities were sufficient but it was apparent that this was not a premium location.This played out mostly in the details. There were no clear uniforms or badges to distinguish employees from patrons so other than thos behind the counter, you didnt know who to turn to for help. There were white pieces of paper with numbers copied on them taped to the doors to identify each auditorium entrance.It could have been a temporary remedy until new signs were installed, but by the condition of the paper it looked like they had been up a while and it looked tacky.Overall I enjoyed my movie experience there and would go back if times and availability for my normal theater dont line up again.

I use to love this little hidden gem. But the last couple of times that Ive been its been trashy and dirty. The restrooms even. Now i have to change theaters

Horrible experience! I frequent Emagine often, it’s my favorite theater. This theater was a mess! Bathrooms were disgusting. The area behind the cashier was terrible! Most importantly, the customer service was terrible. I will probably NEVER go back to this theatre. Do not waste you’re money or time at this theater. Enjoy the experience somewhere else.

What a great theater. Reclining AND heated seats. It is a nice place to catch the latest movie.

Great theater, they just need to provide free WiFi or something because this theater is a total dead zone. I guess it works because you know people cant talk on the phone or text during a movie. If you do the tickets online option you have to pull it up on your phone before you enter the building, otherwise you wont be able to bring the tickets up on your phone. Only a slight inconvenience and easy to get around as long as you remember.

This is the closest theater to us and for the most part we love it. There have an occasional rude or lazy employee but the vast majority of workers here are great.

I love this cinema. Its clean and the staff is nice.

It looks high class, like a nice hotel in Vegas. There is even a bar and pool table. I went to the concessions and there were no signs, no menu. Not much of a candy selection at the counter either. They gave me a large popcorn and 2 large drinks for $20. We get to in our theater (though the sign said no shows at this time) and there is no base for the sound! There were multiple chairs in the theater that were so squeaky and so much louder than the movie and very disturbing. Infants are allowed in the theaters...why? The popcorn had no flavor even with butter and salt and it was pretty chewy so not likely fresh. I wont be going back, Phoenix theater in Livonia is a 5 star compared to this.

Havent been over this way In a few months but my how quickly things change. I like the theater. They made a few up grades a while back. Sadly, the beautiful bathroom isnt kept up well. One of paper towel dispensers is broke;so, a roll of paper towels rest on the right side of the sink. Fortunately, hand soap pumps were placed out for the lack of soap dispensers. Im sure there were soap dispensers before . One stall was out of order; so, there was a short line after the shows let out. Trails of toilet paper were scattered throughout the restroom and out into the entryway. They do have staff that straighten up intermittently.The concession stand service is usually okay. Although today, one cashier grew impatient when people werent paying attention when she voiced that she could help the next person. People are human lol.We got our tickets online and went straight into the concession stand to show our proof of purchase which was nice cause we didnt have to wait in the long line in the cold entry doors. This theater is also an Emagine theater; so, use your rewards card. I always get a free small popcorn. Otherwise, prices are about the same as most theaters.They have a small arcade area. A small sitting area under beautiful chandlers. They also serve food and alcohol on the other side of the concession stand.Its a quaint space not a very large theater; but, good to go for a night out and something to do.

The day before Thanksgiving and only 2 people were working whom were nice but overwhelmed. It’s a beautiful entry that draws you in but then you get to the theater the seats are disgusting we used a coat to cover up the very questionable looking seats and then using the toilet was a whole other adventure. No toilet paper in any of the stalls and a roll of toilet paper smack in the middle of the floor from someone probably trying to roll to someone who discovered they didn’t have any. I think the owners forgot about the existence of this theater.

Prices are fine. I didnt visit the concession stand but I got a great seat. The recliner was comfortable too. It was a very pleasant first time experience. I would definitely visit again.

I normally like the movies here but the last time I went it was not as clean as it usually is and I was disappointed. The trash was overflowing outside the movies and it was trash I’m the bathrooms too. Just seem a bit unkept and it’s unfortunate. Staff was friendly though.

Fairly nice neighborhood theater. However the food is pricey like all theaters and the deal breaker for me is having to pay $1 for each baby cup of jalapeno peppers. Now thats doing the most.

My sons took me there to see TERMINATOR for my Birthday.50th to say the least. Walked in saw the bar!!! Omgggg!!! Yeah... I was late getting in the movie. Then! Those reclining chairs!!! Awesome Sauce!!! All to say... Those chairs and drinks relaxed me so good. I missed the movie!!! Smdh!! I still cant believe it!!! I never sleep at the movies!!! Ill be back! Had an issue with the tickets I purchased online. I tried to call the theater to discuss options prior to the showtime, but there is no way to talk to a human! I could only send a message on their website, it’s been over a day and still no one has contacted me back! I won’t be going back!TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Clean theatre with the most comfortable red reclining seats. Alcohol is served at this theatre and a good selection of treats. My favorite theatre in area.

Took 50 mins for my quesadilla and it got to me without jalapenos and and made me sick for a day after i ate it!!Since this post management has reached out to make it right! I appreciate the effort and only a classy establishment would even think to do such a thing!!

Its definitely an old theater hallway wreaked of feet, but the reclined seats were amazing

The Riviera Cinema is a very nice theater thats part of the Emagine Theater chain. They do serve adult beverages at this location. They have the comfortable seating which was good because I watched a three hour movie. The only thing I dont like are the assigned seating tickets. The parking lot could use a little patch work or better yet repaving.

I love this theater, never over crowded and the food is great as well as a stocked bar and they upgraded to heated seats.

Always a nice place. Recliners and easy to get tickets. The theater we we were in this time had a bit of a smell. Think probably just needed the floor cleaned. Never had that issue before.

Pretty clean and in the cut theater. Decently priced with reclining seats. The seats do feel a bit more worn than other theaters and the aura of it all is a bit dark inside. The floors were to my thinking, freshly waxed so a bit slippery but it didnt feel sticky which I hate so thats a huge plus.

Its clean. The staff is mostly young & friendly. Not a single bad experience.

The movie theater was good. but on a Sunday the conssession line was backed up like almost out the door I dont know if it was the staff was to slow or they need a better system. Also the bathroom were unberable not clean and water was everywhere on the floor. The movie started at 4pm but we didnt get in till 4:10 becuse the staff wasnt done cleaning.

We purposely went to this theater because of the food (were closer to Canton). Prices have increased while portions are smaller. We paid 16 for overly fried chicken tender meals we could have got from else where before the movie started for less money. There were also 2 people in our seats. I informed the cashier. A young man asked them to move for us. The pair got offended which was awkward since they were in the wrong and they knew it. The woman said ok but she didnt have to go and get anyone. The young man just walked away. To avoid any arguments I just moved seats with my guest. My advice is there should be some sort of protocol to deal with these kind of incidents. Their tickets should have been checked. It was just all a bad experience. I hate that my mom had to use her Christmas movie gift card on this. Will stick to the theater closer to me for now on.

The remodel is nice the restrooms are clean...the theater has comfortable reclining seats BUT the headrest is worn and ragged on most seats...they should have disposable liners for the headrest to prevent wear.. unfortunately and eventually they will replace the seats at the movie goers cost

The 20s vibe of this theatre is really nice! The staff couldve been more friendly though.. Also, the allocated seating is appreciated. But there should also be someone there to make sure its being enforced. The row numbers arent lit well so its impossible for everyone to sit in their assigned seat. The seats are comfortable though - even if youre sitting next to a stranger (its not weird or anything lol).

This place is a dump. The lobby area is the only nice part. The bathroom was trashed and none of the soap dispensers worked (nice). The recliners in the theater were completely filthy. There was popcorn everywhere and it was obvious that the theater was not cleaned after the last show or the staff did a really terrible job cleaning if they did clean. I dont see myself coming back.

The movie was good but our recliner seats didnt recline. They need to get the seats fixed.

I love this place, the seats are so comfortable and the theater is so clean.

The screens have comfortable seats. But the problem is with the screen itself. Some are tiny and have to crane your neck up to watch the movie, which bit of a strain on the neck. Another plus point is the bar with the friendly bartender.

Super cool and retro movie theater. Loved the classic Riviera feel and look. The seating was clean and a huge plus was the recliner seating. This is definitely a cool theater and fun place to watch a movie.

I had a good experience with my movie choice....reason for the 5 star rating. However, the theater does require great attention to cleanliness. The concession, and movie theater were not well kept. You can tell that they are very lazy with attention to detail when it comes to maintaining a clean environment. This is my neighborhood theater, and I expect better.

Great theater, however customer service is terrible. The young ladies that work at the concession stand, were rude and very unpleasant. They look so unhappy working there. Training definitely needed in customer service.
