My 9 yr old loved it! We went on a Sunday early chilly afternoon and it was very quiet..only about 20 people in those 3 large ships! I recommend bringing santizer spray since you do have to touch handles to go up and down floors. We spent about 3 hours there and had a blast learning about history.

Awesome place to visit. Big Mammie is a gorgeous ship with a ton of history. Everyone should visit her. She needs some love, but she is still very much fit for visitors. Along side her are 3 other great attractions, the USS Lionfish submarine, the USS Joseph P. Kennedy destroyer and the Hiddensee East German missile corvette. Absolutely worth the admission price all day long.

So much better than I thought it would be. We came for the battleship, but there was so much more. There are six ships here, the battleship, the american destroyer, the russian destroyer, the submarine, the pt boat, and the landing craft. You really get a great overview of naval missions and history. Also more touchable than it might seem at first. Display rooms are hands off, but most other spaces are accessable. Definitely worth your time.

I always looked forward to going and seeing this ship with my boys out troop from New York. Out of all the trips I’ve went on this was by far my most favorite! The staff was amazing and their speakers which were comprised of both historians and the original sailors of this magnificent ship! Asides from this ship you also had the submarine, the destroyer, cruiser? And the PT boats! I still to this day have my dog tags that I got made up from there. I need to go back soon!

This really was a great to tour. Absent the 1800 sailors on board, it seemed to be a huge vessel. I am sure that if it was fully populated, it would have seen incredibly small! I wish we lived in the area so that our Scout troop could participate in one of the stay on board overnights.

Took my 4 and a half year old son on the 76th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. He had so much fun exploring and climbing all throughout the many shops on display. I visited as a kid with Boy Scouts and we stayed on board the ship and it is dry much the way I remember it. They have done an excellent job maintaining it. Really a cool day trip and totally worth it to check out.

I stayed overnight with a boy scout troop. I was disappointed there was no tour and no interpretation at all. It was fun to wander the ship, but there was no map or guide to follow. Also there are other ships to investigate, but you cannot leave the battleship after dark and could not enter after 2:30 so you only have a couple hours to do this.

I have been there many times, the ship its self (USS Mass.) Has a lot of history in her, from her training mission to her last mission. Though it is a little sad that she only has 4-5 of her oerlikon mounts left (probably because the Navy took them before the was un-mothballed) the ship is still a sight to see and be on.

I feel that most of the people willing to go and leave a review would enjoy this place if they floated a 1/48 wooden scale model of the USS Massachusetts and called it a heritage site. Well Im one of those people. It does offer more than that. The approach is reasonably hands off, you wander the boats and read the materials provided. Considering the size of the ships and the narrowness of the passages, I would agree with this approach. You dip in and out of the ships as you need. Not for the claustrophobic or those who overheat easily. I think they could add a better overview of each ship, but I was impressed overall, particularly with the number of displays of related themes (women in war, PT Squadrons, models) with the battleship itself.
